I have so many Florida photos to share, lots of birds and critters. I hope you enjoy. This is a part two of our Merritt Island NWR visit.
The White Ibis and a Tricolored Heron
Smile for the camera, Florida alligator.
Below is a good sized group of Blue-winged Teal and some American Coots.
I can make out some distant Northern Shovelers in the photo below.
Great Egret
Glossy Ibis were around in high numbers.
This group of birds took off from the ground, they were hidden until they were in flight. The pink Roseate Spoonbills stand out in the crowd.
I appreciate and thank everyone who links up their post and for all the wonderful comments !
Here is a list of my linky parties;

Merritt Island is a great place for birds. Too far way from my home for a day trip. Beautiful images!

Dearest Eileen; Oh My; I've never seen an Alligator. And I wondered what the White Ibis and a Tricolored Heron were talking to. The pink Roseate Spoonbills must be happy being able to live in that vast natural area♡♡♡
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for hosting and kind comments.
Sending Lots of Love and Hugs from Japan to my Dear friend, xoxo Miyako*
Love seeing the birds, but you can keep the alligator!

Olá Eileen,
ReplyDeleteTão belos animais!
Eu gostei especialmente das aves. A garça branca é linda!
Magníficas fotos.
Bom fim de semana,

The gator seems to be sizing up lunch.
ReplyDeleteFantastic images Eileen. The best is the Ibis and Heron, fishing together, beauty. The second is the Glossy Ibis, excellent.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fine selection of birds, Eileen!
ReplyDeleteI saw a Robin here today and it was all puffed up since it is -8˚C and windy. I hope he hasn't come back thinking spring was coming!
Some fabulous captures here...not sure which is my favorite. But know I would have had fun seeing all of them.
ReplyDeleteI get my White Ibis and Great Egrets mixed up. One of the two is the only wildlife I spotted the last time I visited a nature preserve near here. I was very happy to see a Green Heron at a park which became flooded last summer though.
ReplyDeleteGreat gator shot, scary critter.
Aren't the spoonbills amazing when they take off!!! I love them.
ReplyDeleteVery nice ! I love the glossy ibis !
ReplyDeleteYes, sure did enjoy your pictures. Nice to see some color!! :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous birds. I don't have any critters to share this week but I'm working on it for next week :)
ReplyDeleteGreat photos Eileen! But I honestly don't know how people in Florida live around 'gators. :-)
ReplyDeleteAlligators make me nervous. Thanks for hosting.
ReplyDeleteSplendid photos of that beautiful birdlife. The alligators always look so prehistoric looking. Great photos Eileen! Have a great week :)
ReplyDeleteGood morning Eileen. I must say that every time I see photos of the Florida wetlands I am amazed at the variety of wildlife that they hold. Same with your photos today with all of those herons, wildfowl and of course that wonderful alligator. The alligator is wonderful to me because of course we in the UK don't have anything near to that. Have a great day and thanks for the link today.
ReplyDeleteYou outdid yourself, Eileen. The photos are gorgeous and I loved seeing all the pretty birds on the water.
