Happy Thankful Thursday!
Hubby and I enjoyed a short road trip to the Finger Lakes area of New York. Our first stop was in Montour Falls New York. Montour Falls is 238 miles and close to a 5 hour drive from home. In Montour Falls we saw 3 named waterfalls just off the road. Seeing a waterfall after a heavy rain is actually the best time. We originally planned this trip back at the beginning of May, but they were having too much rain.
This is the She-Que-Ga Falls, it can be found at the end of Main St in Montour Falls New York. We had perfect weather and skies during our 3 night 4 day trip.

There is a small park area in front of the waterfalls with some benches for enjoying the view.
The She-Que-Ga Falls almost looks like it is going into the back of the town hall in Montour Falls NY. The scene below is used at the beginning of the Hallmark Mystery Movie Series called Aurora Teagarden.
I am not sure the id on this duckling. It was seen alone in the pool of the bottom of the waterfalls.
A view of the sky and Seneca Lake, Watkins Glen NY. The Finger Lakes area is named for it's series of long thin lakes and lots of vineyards. We visited parks and waterfalls around these lakes, Seneca Lake, Cayuga Lake and Keuka Lake.
We spent 3 nights at a hotel at the top of Keuka Lake. This was the view from our hotel.
I am thankful for good weather on our trips.
I am thankful to be healthy for long hikes.
I am thankful for all your visits and comments.
Thank you Michelle for hosting Thankful Thursday.

How beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing your trip. I love waterfalls, even if just water flowing fast over rocks in a stream, and when kids dam the stream up to make a swimming hole. Must go check out our local one today or tomorrow! Cascades over great height are so powerful!
ReplyDeleteI am thankful for YOU, Eileen!
The duckling is so cute! Love your photos☺
ReplyDeleteThese waterfalls are beautiful, each in turn. My parents at some point took a trip into the Finger Lakes area on their own, years ago.

ReplyDeleteI know Mallard ducklings have the dark eye stripe like the female Mallard, but other ducklings may have it, too. Mallards live just about everywhere, so chances are it is a Mallard. So cute whatever it is!
