Happy Thankful Thursday

Happy Thankful Thursday!

The past week we were dog sitting for our neighbor. Early morning, I would go with hubby to take the dog for a walk in the neighborhood. This is a view our yard as we headed next door.

We took Marlow on the trail to the lake, we are seeing more tent caterpillars on the trees, I wonder if the birds eat these caterpillars? Some leaves are already turning colorful. I assume we did not have enough rain this summer.  Marlow sees a bunny.

A Great Blue Heron and a flock of Canada Geese fly over the lake, one heron is perched on a tree sticking out of the lake, the bunny was safe from Marlow, a mushroom with a slug.

"Every act of kindness spreads peace to the world, love to the heart and light to us all." Mary Davis

A closeup of the colorful leaves.

"Have Courage and Be Kind."

I noticed these pretty yellow flowers near the lake, another plant I need Id help.

"Slow down and enjoy life."

I heard these geese coming way before I saw them, I think they landed further down the lake.

"I find hope in the darkest of days and focus in the brightest. I do not judge the universe." The Dalai Lama

A pretty view of the sky reflecting on the lake.

"Kindness is the golden chain by which society is bound together."

I am thankful for acts of kindness, peace and love.
I am thankful for the simple things, like the beauty of the sky and nature around me.

am thankful for all your visits and comments.

  4. I noticed when we were up in Easton (PA) that the leaves on some trees were starting to change. I can't believe we haven't had enough rain though. We had, what I think, is a VERY rainy summer.

However, I think we may have an early fall this year.

    1. I think the rain was a hit or miss around here, the rain often missed us. I think fall will be early. Thanks Dee!

Lovely to be looking at your deck, rather than from it for a change! Delightful mosaics as always. Your yellow flower... well, I checked this site and also did a more general search but cannot find anything that seems to fit the bill - you may have more luck as you will know more detail than is obvious from the photo! 6. Keep your eye open for cuckoos eating the tent caterpillars. I don't think much else preys on them.

  11. Hugs to Marlow. We've got a pup who gets horrible separation anxiety. Oh, he's a challenge. Aptly named Butthead. But such a sweet boy

Happy thankful Thursday to you too.

  13. Hi Eileen!
The photos are lovely, especially the water. It's glorious. My Picture This app on my phone suggests the yellow flowers may be Smooth False Foxglove. I rarely recognize plants outside of my yard (lol), but I've learned a lot since I downloaded the app.
    Have a lovely day!

  16. Such beautiful pictures. I noticed some turning leaves this morning on my ride into work. I've been seeing poison ivy vines that are read and sumac leaves...but these were the first tree leaves I've seen turning. I, too, think we may have an early Fall (which pleases me - lol).

  44. Thanks for taking me on your walk. You are so observant to notice so much. I don't know of any birds eating tent caterpillars. Haven't seen any here for years---thank goodness. Funny story---about 6 yrs ago we had tent cats in one very tall tree and couldn't reach it so Bob took the shotgun and blew the branch off and down they came. Never seen that before in my life and the caterpillars have never been back. LOL
