Happy Monday,
This summer and the month of August are just flying by, hubby and I are getting out for our walks and exercise. On this day we walked the local fire road to another part of our lake. The round trip hike from our house is about 3.2 miles. It was a cloudy somewhat humid day, so my photos are just so-so. I tried to lighten some of the photos.
The fire road to the lake.
Clicking on the photos, will give you a better view..
Another section of the fire road to the lake, views of the lake looking right and looking left, the trail, colorful leaves and some flowers next to the water and rocks.
"The earth is large enough for all to share, but mankind's heart is not large enough to care." A.D. Williams
Off of the fire road there is a little trail to the lake.
" In nature, nothing exist alone." Rachel Carson
Various warblers seen off the fire road, below are Prairie Warbler and possibly juvenile Prairie Warblers.
"Hope is the thing with feathers, that perches in the soul and sings the tunes without words and never stops at all." Emily Dickinson
I am guessing the id of these birds, juvenile Prairie Warblers. Possible breeders in the forest around the lake. Two cuties, the yellow really pops!
"In order to see birds it is necessary...to become part of the silence." Robert Lynd
Prairie Warblers, above and below. I am not sure if these warblers are moving through are they breeders in my area? Clicking on the photos, the views are a little better. 🌝🌝🌝

ReplyDeleteThat long view along the water and then the path up the side really have my attention today... not that all others were less appreciated! YAM xx
Hello Eileen,
ReplyDeleteYou have beautiful nature around you. The first image is so pretty.
Happy Monday!
You had such a rewarding walk!Truely your pictures endorse the quote 'nature doesn't exist alone!'
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quotes, I like very much the Williams' one.
ReplyDeleteGrat photos as usual.
It is nice to follow your walk, love the lake and sighting of the birds. Happy Monday, Eileen!
ReplyDeleteHello Eileen,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful photos and collage of your walk.
You live in a beautiful environment.
Best regards, Irma
Que bom chegar aqui e ver fotos tão lindas! Adorei! Ótima semana! beijos, chica
ReplyDeleteThe quality of the pictures is not the most important thing (and they are not bad at all). It is the fact that you got out for a walk and enjoyed nature that is what counts.
ReplyDeleteVery nice post. Mankind's heart is a bit greedy, I believe... :(
ReplyDeleteHave a great new week ahead!
...thanks for sharing the beauty of your world!
ReplyDeleteLoved the post. Beautiful clicks.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice week ahead.
I would love to have that beauty close enough to visit and walk. Love the birds...

ReplyDeleteYou are right, the month is zooming by. What a wonderful walk! As ever.
ReplyDeleteWish I had an area like this near home. Beautiful, Eileen.
ReplyDeleteIt's been so hot and or raining here, I haven't been out shooting in weeks.
ReplyDeleteFinally had a break in the rain Sun AM...went out early for some sunrise shots (before the rain)
How nice that you can hike from your house! I would never stay home though! lol Love the little Warblers. We hiked this weekend and saw a little Pine Warbler! You live in a beautiful part of the country! Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteYour first photo reminds me of the poem written by Robert Frost "The Road Not Traveled."
ReplyDeleteTwo roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Thank you for the journey. Have a wonderful day!
I like Robert Lynd's quote. Sometimes my birder group needs that quote but I would never use it with them. They have too much fun as a group.
ReplyDeleteI've said it before, but I am so envious of the great places y'all have to walk. I really miss that. Your photo's are wonderful, Eileen. :)
ReplyDeletexoxo
Your walking route offers spectacular views. Mine not so, but nevertheless I enjoy my one hour's walk. Wishing you a lovely week.

I love quote about the earth large enough to share, and this is the first time I have heard it. all that beauty out there needs to be shared and you did
ReplyDeleteYou have such a lovely place to walk. Right now it is just too muggy and hot to enjoy walking, but I am hoping we get a stray chill in the next few weeks that will turn to fall. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteThat road just draws you in...
ReplyDeleteI do so agree with you … this summer and the month of August are just flying by … our days are full and life is good, so I don't complain :)
ReplyDeleteLovely seeing all of your photographs, keep enjoying everyday.
All the best Jan
Another great walk you took us on, and great photos as well, I don’t care what you say. I love the quote about to see the birds one must be part of the silence.
ReplyDeleteThose yellow prairie warblers are so cute! You have such beautiful places to walk, Eileen.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a peaceful place to explore.
ReplyDeleteWorth a Thousand Words

A beautiful trail to follow, Eileen!

ReplyDeleteSweet warblers, Eileen! You have a wonderful route right by home!
ReplyDelete"In order to see birds it is necessary...to become part of the silence." Robert Lynd, love this so much.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your beautiful walk.
ReplyDeleteEileen - your quotes are spot on today, especially "The earth is large enough for all to share, but mankind's heart is not large enough to care." A.D. Williams Love the pair of juveniles - looks to me like they were posing for you! Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!
ReplyDeleteLovely shots!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed joining you on that walk. Lots to admire.
ReplyDeletelooks like a lovely place to walk and the warblers are beautiful
ReplyDeleteHi! It is said that walking and excise makes you keep young. So I also do excise almost every day. The yellow birds are very cute. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThat first photo is so beautiful and the little yellow birds are bright little pops of colour, aren't they?! Thanks for linking up Eileen....a lovely post :)
ReplyDeleteFantastic photos of Your world ~ Our World ~ for OWT ^_^

Your fire road reminds me of our logging roads in the bush. Hiking and ATV clubs have built trails to lakes and viewpoints much like the one you used. - Margy
ReplyDeleteLovely, beautiful photos! Have a nice week!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a lovely place to walk. Three miles is a good distance, but not so long that you're exhausted when you get back home.
ReplyDeleteThe lake looks great. I love the prairie warbler, and have enjoyed seeing them this season as they go about nesting and defending their territory. Great shots. I did click to get a better look.
ReplyDeleteLovely views by the lake.
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting.
También nosotros paseamos casi a diario, vivimos entre naturaleza y nos gusta decubrirla Eileen. Nos enseña mucho. Las fotos son preciosas. Que linda la parejita de la foto 6
ReplyDeleteTe deseo buena noche.
Un abrazo.
So nice to have that lovely trail close
ReplyDeleteMB
happy walks dear Eileen :)
ReplyDeletelack is gloriously enchanting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
loved each capture so much ,your quotes make it spiritual my friend!
It is such a beautiful area to walk in. The scenery is delightful and I love your photos Eileen. Those two little Warblers posed so sweetly for you :D)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful views Eileen. I love all photo nature.
ReplyDeleteA great area for a walk and love that you share all your photos. Thank you so much Eileen, enjoy the rest of your day and have a great week :)
ReplyDeleteAnd if you become part of the silence you realize how noisy it really is. Especially if you have neighborhood cranes, they are sooo loud.
ReplyDeleteYou two must be in tremendous shape, I think all of us know how much more difficult a camera makes a walk for any distance and that is really far, at least for me. I'm just able to go once around the park with lots of stops on lots of benches.
There's so much to see where you are, do you ever swim in the lake?
Delightful post! Love the warblers!
ReplyDeleteAs fotos ficaram lindíssimas. A natureza é fantásticas.
ReplyDeleteÓtima sexta-feira!
Abraço!
