Our World, My World

 Happy Monday everyone,

I hope everyone is taking care, staying healthy and avoiding the Covid-19 virus.   We are trying to stay positive and remain calm, I really wish for things to be back to normal.

These are images from around my yard,  from the last week of March. I am glad I have the bird feeders along the deck right outside the window. I hope you are not tired of seeing my birds and photos.

My first Brown Thrasher of the season, seen on March 30th.

A Red-bellied Woodpecker seen at the suet feeder..

Below the Brown Thrasher and the Red-bellied Woodpecker are taking turns at the suet feeder.

We just have the daffodils and forsythia blooming right now, we are seeing daylilies and iris growing well.  A Cardinal sits in one of our pine trees and across the driveway I can watch a Great Blue Heron on the tree top.

A feral cat likes to drink out of our pond.  Usually it runs away as soon as he sees me but this day he watched me as I was watching him..

I can watch the Great Blue Herons fly and land in the trees, near their nest.

Happy Passover April 8 to all those who celebrate!! Wishing you and your families Peace, Good Health and Happiness!

  2. Hi Eileen - I love seeing your bird photos - and you had a blue heron photo today, I love herons. I look forward to your post every week. Our little city (was a town until about a year or so ago) has seemed pretty quiet, no kids out playing, walkers crossing the street to keep away from other walkers, many many closed businesses, grocery stores have plexiglass 'walls' to keep the cashier's away from customers, there are lines and arrows on the floor to show the shoppers where to walk, limits on how many of an item can be purchased, in some store there is a limit on the number of people allowed into the store at any time. My favourite grocery store is small, handwashing is a must before entering, only one family member allowed inside, there is a limit to the number of customers in the store, the staff wipe down every cart and after a cart is used it is wiped down again, surfaces are cleaned all the day long, staff clean their hands after each customer.... and the staff are careful too, keeping 6 feet away from any person, while doing their jobs of putting stock on shelves, shopping for a customer who will pick it up or have delivered to there home. I could go on. A new way of doing things we once did without planning or worrying.
    Keep well.
    Hugs.

    1. Hello Joy, it sounds like your favorite grocery store is taking all the precautions for the safety of their customers and workers. I think more stores will be limiting the number of customers, so everyone can keep their safe distances. We were told to wear a mask when going out now. Take care & stay safe! Wishing you a happy day and a great new week!

Beautiful series of photos a collages.
The Brown Thrasher is a beautiful bird, you do not see this in the Netherlands, the Red-bellied Woodpecker is also beautiful and does not occur here.
Take care of yourself and stay healthy, I also hope that this corona time will be over soon.

  41. Never tire of seeing great birds how lucky we are to have these guys in our yards...I need to get birdseed cause I sure don't want to run out. Get this our Governor who said no gatherings of 3 or more but wont close churches and gun shops so he won't tromp on constitutional rights but the very first one, "right to congregate" is a violation of the right for peaceful protest, what he really means is he doesn't want to anger his main $$$ supporters!
