Happy Thursday everyone!
I am sharing some of the plants and blooms around our yard.
The rhododendrons are blooming like crazy, the Clematis is looking beautiful and the Siberian Iris are looking lovely too. It seems most of our blooms are purple colors, one of my favorite colors beside blue.
"May your day be blessed with an abundance of peace, love and gratitude.
"Peace begins with love and respect."
I have 3 hummingbird feeders setup around the garden and yard, they are close to the butterfly bush and irises.
One of the bigger bull frogs near our pond, one day I saw 3 of these frogs sitting around our little pond.
The clematis is very pretty on our fence, one of my favorite vine plants. The photos do not show just how pretty this color really is in person.
I would like to see the whole fence covered with this clematis below. It looks beautiful.
This clematis is a different species growing at the edge of our driveway.
"May all beings everywhere, be happy and free."
I am thankful to see all these pretty blooms around our yard.
I can not figure out why my camera shows our rhododendrons as being more pinkish, they are really more of a light purple or lavender color.
This photo below shows more of the actual color of our rhododendrons.
I always like including a bird on my post, this is the female Red-bellied Woodpecker. She is a daily visitor to my yard.
My sky shot for the day, white puffy clouds seen above my yard. I think we have had more cloudy days than sunny lately, I am thankful for the sunshine whenever it appears..
Just wondering, how is the shopping in your area? Are you finding everything you want and need? I am thankful so far we have everything we need. One thing I can not find for a few weeks now is yeast. I wanted to try a bread recipe and I can not find yeast anywhere. Some things like the disinfectant wipes and some cleaning supplies have never been in stock. Luckily we had these in stock at home.
My latest books are:
Jacqueline Winspear's Elegy for Eddie, the Maisie Dobbs series # 9
Breath of Scandal by Sandra Brown
The Cuckoo's Calling the 1st in the Cormoran Strike series by Robert Galbraith a pseudonym J.K.Rowling
I hope everyone is staying safe, happy and healthy! I am always thankful hubby and I are both doing well!
I am always thankful for your visits and the comments.
Live simple and be happy! 😊 Spread peace, joy & happiness!
Thank you Michelle for hosting Thankful Thursday.

Thanks so much for visiting and for your nice comments on my previous post. Have a happy day!
Recently I have bought all purpose flour, whole wheat flour, regular yeast and instant yeast and had no trouble finding any of them. That bullfrog looks big enough to eat your hummingbirds if they stray too close.
ReplyDeleteHi David, it is big fat bull frog. The Herons would have a feast if they find him. I will keep looking for the yeast, I did see the flour. Thanks for the visit and comment. Have a great day!
DeleteYeast is also in short-supply here. Your flower photos filled me with joy, they are so beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteHello M,
DeleteI wonder what the problem is with yeast, they can not keep in stock. Thanks for the visit and comment. Have a great day and happy weekend!
Love the cotton ball clouds! And purple flowers (one of my favorite colors). The lighting on that beautiful woodpecker is perfect.
ReplyDeleteThanks Anni! Wishing you a happy day!
DeleteHari OM
ReplyDeleteNever mind yeast, I can't get flour!!! Well, I could if I wanted 16kg from Amazon... The colours in your post today, Eileen, are just beautiful - even if not as true as you would wish. YAM xx
Thank you Yam! We have flour here, I saw yeast on Amazon but it was a ridiculous price for a 3 pack. Enjoy your day!
Delete...and thanks for those iris!!! Have a super day.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tom! I love these iris and look forward to seeing them bloom each year. Have a great day!
DeleteThe series that stands out are Bullfrog and the Red-bellied Woodpecker, they are fabulous.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bob! They are two of my favorite too. Enjoy your day!
DeletePretty posts. I feel at home in your yard. We are up to 4 bullfrogs this year which we have named: Lil' Elvis, Willie Nelson, Patsy Kline and Kate Smith. Happy Day.
ReplyDeleteThanks Gayle! I like those names for your bullfrogs. Cute! Have a great day and happy weekend ahead.
DeleteMaravilha! Adorei. Que seja lindo teu dia! bjs, chica
ReplyDeleteThank you Chica! Have a great day and happy weekend ahead.
DeleteThat frog looks like he needs to take more exercise! lol He must not go for walks with you! We hear them but rarely get to see them. Of course I love all the shades of lavender! I love Blue and Purple best too. I have blue eyes and wear a lot of blue. Thanks for the beautiful quotes today. Your post is uplifting! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThanks Diane! I always appreciate your nice comments, have a great day!
DeleteWhat a garden of earthly delights you have!!! And that bullfrog!! So ugly he's really quite cute!!! Our little tree frogs can't compare in size, but they can still send out quite a croaking ruckus. Have you seen hummers this season? My feeders have been out for well over a month and I fleetingly saw one and that's it. Change the nectar regularly and nada. makes me sad. I miss them/
ReplyDeleteThank you Steph! I have being seeing at least 2 hummer at my feeders. I think they are nesting near by.
DeleteHave a great day and happy weekend ahead.
Hello and thanks for sharing your beautiful flowers. One of our Rhododendrons is blooming too, now.
ReplyDeleteIn Italy during the lockdown we had problems finding the yeast, as many people also here made bread at home.
Presently, the most difficult item to find is latex gloves.
Have a nice rest of week and keep safe!
Hello, there must be a big demand for yeast. Thank you for the comment and visit. Have a great day and happy weekend ahead.
DeleteWow! What a blue! Your irises are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the comment and visit. Have a great day and happy weekend ahead.
DeleteBeautiful colors (if altered by camera anyway) of flowers. I can imagine some scents as well! I've got 3 bags of flour, and no yeast either. Will just make some quick breads I guess, since I have a lot of baking powder. My friend is keeping an eye out for yeast for me, who shops once a week.
ReplyDeleteHello Barbara, all my photos are straight from the camera. I do not understand how some colors can be perfect and others seem to change. I hope you find the yeast, I will keep looking. Thank you for the comment and visit. Have a great day and happy weekend ahead.
DeleteThose irises are my favourites! Great photos as always!

DeleteHello Marie.
Thank you for the comment and visit.
Have a great day and happy weekend ahead.
Hi Eileen, nice flowers in your yard. Beautiful colors. I like the frog sitting around your pond and the woodpecker. Beautiful clouds, we have a little rain today.
ReplyDeleteHello Caroline,
DeleteThank you for the comment and visit.
Have a great day and happy weekend ahead.
Hello Eileen,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful plants and flowers! I love both iris and clematis. They are so pretty. The bullfrog are so big!
Have a nice day!
Hello Marit,
DeleteThank you for the comment and visit. Have a great day and happy weekend ahead.
Hi Eileeen, just paying a visit from a long, long time ago (10 years to be exact). I was editing some old posts and found a comment from you, and thought I was overdue for visiting here. Glad to see you are still enjoying nature to its fullest!!
ReplyDeleteHello Mar,
DeleteIt is nice to see you posting again. Thank you for the comment and visit. Have a great day and happy weekend ahead.
I love those Irises! I don't think I have ever seen such a large bullfrog, Eileen!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the comment and visit. Have a great day and happy weekend ahead.
DeleteBeautiful pictures! We've been having a lone hummingbird coming to our feeders - wish we would attract more.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Vera!
DeleteHave a great day!
I love those first irises...I have some of those but they did not bloom this year. I have no idea why. And that first clematis--that is what I tried to have and it died. So I tried a different one. The greenhouse tried to give me the one I have now free of charge...but I insisted on paying half. I really did not think the first one dying was any fault of theirs..but I don't know why it did. But it is a gorgeous color...Sarah had that at one like it at one or her houses, and a neighbor has one here.
ReplyDeleteHello Rose, I was worried our iris were not going to bloom, they were late this year. We had a really cold spring. The purple shades are my favorite color for flowers. Thank you for the comment and visit. Have a great day and happy weekend ahead.
DeleteYour flowers are looking very pretty. A walk through a garden does something to lift the spirits. Our stores are rationing fresh meat and paper products. I was lucky enough to get the last jar of generic yeast on the shelf when I did my bi-weekly grocery shopping, but it has been difficult to find. I hope you are able to find some. Take care.
ReplyDeleteHello Heather,
DeleteI am glad you found some of the yeast.
Thank you for the comment and visit.
Have a great day and happy weekend ahead.
Hello Eileen,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful series of photos of all the flowers in your garden, the colors are my favorite colors, really beautiful.
The female red-bellied woodpecker is really great and super sharp, my compliments.
Best regards Irma
Hello Irma!
DeleteThank you for the comment and visit. Have a great day and happy weekend ahead.
Amazing pics and quotes. Those irises are stunning! My latest book was "The Screwtape letters",by C.S.Lewis.Hugs and blessings.
ReplyDeleteHello, The Screwtape letters was one of best known novels.
DeleteThank you for the comment and visit. Have a great day and happy weekend ahead.
So lovely and colorful. I love that cute bullfrog. Thanks for visiting!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sharon!
DeleteEnjoy your day!
Beautiful photos! Flowers, frogs, and birds!
ReplyDeleteNo yeast in the stores here in Mississippi either, but we are doing okay. Cooking more at home now, eating a lot of vegetables and salads and less meat, but that's more healthy anyway! I did find a beef roast at the grocery store Tuesday. Cut it in half: half went in the freezer and the other half in the crock-pot. It was delicious!
Have a wonderful day!
Hello Lea,
DeleteI have tried cutting back on the meat too. I love salads. Your roast sounds yummy.
Thank you for the comment and visit. Have a great day and happy weekend ahead.
Wow! Gorgeous floral shots ~ magnificent colors and love the bullfrog and feathered friends, of course ~

DeleteHave a happy day!
Wow! What a beautiful photo of the female red bellied woodpecker! My rhododendrons are just about finished now. They bloomed at the same time as the azalea this year, which I like, as I have them planted next to each other. The lavender of the rhododendron and the hot pink of the azalea look beautiful together!
ReplyDeleteHello,
DeleteOur Azaleas bloom earlier than the rhodo's. It is nice to see all the colors in the yard. Thank you for the comment and visit. Have a great day and happy weekend ahead.
Hello Eileen,
ReplyDeletethese are really beautiful flowers that you show. It must be a joy to have such a beautiful garden with flowers. The color of the Iris is really great, but the clematis is also beautiful.
That beautiful woodpecker is envious hihi ....
I wish you a very nice weekend.
Greetings, Helma
Hello Helma, so nice to see you visiting. I hope you are well. Thanks you for the comment and visit. Have a great day and a happy weekend ahead.
DeleteOutstanding photos and thoughts. They do give me hope and peace. Your Rhodies are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteSue
Thank you! Have a great day and happy weekend ahead.
DeleteYeast and flour were so hard to find down here, I did get flour before our lockdown, and a jar of yeast , that one was shared with three others.Love the iris blooms, and the Rhodos, beautiful to see fluffy clouds.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jean! I am glad you were able to pick up the yeast before it disappeared. Have a great day and happy weekend ahead.
DeleteAll the flowers are lovely hope one day that Clematis is all along your fence...what a beauty...you captured the woodie perfectly the eye so clear and shiny. Enjoy the rest of your week.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sondra! I hope the clematis grow more. Have a great day and happy weekend ahead.
DeleteHello Eileen. When you read my blog today you will have realised that I am not a fan of rhododendron. But I can see how in small clumps it can be an attractive additional garden plant.Your blue theme today is very beautiful. Our own lily will be in full bloom anyday now.
ReplyDeleteHello, Phil
DeleteThanks for the comment. I am pretty sure our Rhododendrons are not invasive, it does grow tall. We have one that is taller than our home. Have a great day!
The flowers are beautiful and the bull frog is amazing. Lovely post, Eileen.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful evening!
Thank you Bill! Have a great day and happy weekend!
DeleteWow, that's a big fat bullfrog! Pretty cool to have them in your back yard. Beautiful flower photos!
ReplyDeleteLOL, he is a big one! Thank you for the comment. Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
DeleteGreat sky shot
ReplyDeleteThanks Jim! Enjoy your weekend!
Deleteyour iris flowers are magnificent and I love the color - that's one big froggy too
ReplyDeleteThanks Carol! The colors did look pretty! Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
DeleteI had a beloved Aunt Iris and these are one of my favorite blooms. They don't seem to come inside for any length of time all that well. I'm glad you are seeing them in the wild!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeanie! But, these are not wild flowers, we planted them in our yard. They are spreading and growing well. Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
DeleteSometimes we have to go to more than one store, but mostly we can find what we want. We shop a lot of farm markets and get our milk from a local dairy. We only go to the big grocer once a month or so for cleaning stuff/paper goods.
ReplyDeleteIf this had happened in the dead of winter, I'm not sure it would have been quite as easy.
The photo of the woodpecker is beautiful. How can you tell it is a female? (I have a LOT to learn about northern birds.)
Hello, We do have some farm markets around here too. Hopefully the weekend farm market starts back up soon.
DeleteThank you for the comment. Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
Flowers and blooms really make everything beautiful and me happy. That is one fat bullfrog you found!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Yogi, he was a fat bullfrog. Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
DeleteThe iris are beautiful!! and that frog had me smiling!! Great capture!!
ReplyDeleteHello Karen, thank you for the comment. Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!

DeleteEileen, how beautiful purple flowers are blooming in your garden ..., it is really nice to see them blooming simultaneously.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend.
Thanks so much for the visit and comment. Enjoy your weekend!
DeleteSunshine on my shoulders make me happy....I think John Denver said this but really not sure. Singing these words out loud upstairs alone where my computer is... does that make me ready for the padded room or am I just happy after viewing your blog? Be safe.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Sunshine does make me happy, I remember that John Denver song. Take care! Have a great day!
DeleteLovely flowers! Your iris are spectacular. I have the same green frogs in my pond. They have not yet returned this year, but I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteThank you, we have so many frogs in our yard. I love hearing them! Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
DeleteWhat glorious photos! Thank you for sharing you made my day. I'm hoping you have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank your for commenting. Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
DeleteYour frog made me smile when I saw him, as did the Red-bellied woodpecker with the sun glint in his eye. Flowers are gorgeous and that sky. We seem to be able to get a lot of things here, but it's difficult to get any cleaning products and disinfectant wipes for instance. Fortunately I bought yeast before all this started. I hear a lot of people are baking bread at home, more than ever before while the restrictions have been in place, so there has been a great shortage on flour and yeast. Enjoy your day and weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks Denise! I will keep looking for the yeast, sooner or later it may turn. I think it sells out as soon as it is put out on the store shelves. Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
DeleteThe flowers are lovely and the Clematis is something I need to add to my flowers. Thanks for linking up, Eileen. Stay well!
ReplyDeleteHi Eileen... What a beauty of flowers... I love the frog too.. Stay safe.. Happy weekend
ReplyDeleteThat Siberian Iris is such an great deep color. Love it. I enjoyed seeing your blooms and your daily visitor, too. Happy weekend to you!

ReplyDeleteWow!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colours in your yard (garden) but that bull frog is amazing.
All the best Jan
Wonderful colours in those flowers.
ReplyDeletesimple gorgeous views around your garden Eileen. Spring is such a glorious time of year. We have wild clematis here in Australia, but not like yours. Enjoy spring and have a great week.
Adorei as fotos! Beijinhos!
