Hello,
Happy Thursday, I hope everyone is well. Is your day/month going as fast as mine? These are some sights from our walk on the local fire road.
I am always thankful for some pretty blue sky days...This Turkey Vulture was hanging out near the old Herons nest.
A male Eastern Towhee was heard and seen during our walk.
The Cedar Waxwings are seen in this same spot often, on this day a small flock of them flew over our heads.
A White-breasted Nuthatch is a year round resident, seen in the woods and in our yard.
I love the ferns we see growing along the side of the fire roads.
😊it's the little things in life, that make me happy and thankful.
You can just barely see the lake through all the trees and leaves now.
I am thankful for the ease of online purchases. Besides my usual morning coffee, I have been trying various teas. Are you a tea drinker, do you use the tea bags or make the loose tea. I have been trying different tea flavors, these are some of my Amazon purchases. I have tried and enjoyed Rooibos, Oolong, Green tea with mint, Peppermint, Chamomile, Earl Grey and Darjeeling. Do you have a favorite tea?
My latest books are:
A Great Deliverance, the #1 in the Inspector Lynley series by Elizabeth George
Leaving Everything Most Loved, Maisie Dobbs # 10 by Jacqueline Winspear
I hope everyone is staying safe, happy and healthy! I am always thankful hubby and I are feeling good!
I am always thankful for your visits and the comments.
Just smile and be happy! 😊
Thank you Michelle for hosting Thankful Thursday.
Thank you to Yogi the host of Skywatch Friday

...turkey vultures are so ugly, but necessary! Enjoy your day.
ReplyDeleteHello, Tom
DeleteThe cultures are a great clean up crew! Thanks, enjoy your day!
Out of all your today's birds I only know the Waxwings.
ReplyDeleteBut all are cute, especially the Eastern Towhee.
I wish you a merry Midsummer weekend!
Ps: I am a coffee drinker, but I indulge in teas too, sometimes, provided that they are spicy: ginger, cinnamon...
Hello,
DeleteThank you for the comment, happy Midsummer weekend to you!
Have a great day!
I don't drink coffee but I do enjoy a cup of tea. My favourite is Twining's Lady Grey which is a milder version of Earl Grey, but I also enjoy peppermint, chamomile, and a turmeric ginger blend one. We used to get a Turkish apple tea which I adored, but sadly I haven't seen that around for several years now.
ReplyDeleteAs you say, it is the little things in life that make us happy. Have a great day :)
Hello,
DeleteI am going to try and find the turmeric ginger tea. Thanks for the visit and comment. Have a great day and a happy weekend.
Beautiful. Earl is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteHello
DeleteEarl Grey is one of my favorites too! Thanks for the visit and comment. Have a great day and a happy weekend.
I have seen vultures hanging out around heronries, and I suspect that mortality in the nests, combined with unfortunate nestlings that fall to the ground, mean good pickings for a wily scavenger.
ReplyDeleteHello David,
DeleteI think our heron rookery has crashed this year, there are none left. It is really odd for them all to disappear! The vultures are probably cleaning up. Thanks for the visit and comment. Have a great day and a happy weekend.
I am very much a tea drinker. I gave up coffee, for the most part, last year.
ReplyDeleteEarl Grey is one of my favorites, but I also really like tumeric herbal tea.
Thanks Dee,
DeleteThe Earl Grey is one of my favorites. I will look for the turmeric herbal tea.
Have a great day and a happy weekend!
Hello Eileen!
ReplyDeleteGreat captures and wonderful pictures of those beautiful birds and nature!Like the Waxwing bird!!
I prefer the Earl Grey tea! My favorite! Thank you for sharing ! Have a lovely day! Stay safe!
Dimi...
Thanks Dimi,
DeleteThanks for the comment. It seems like Earl Grey is a favorite among many, mine too. Happy Midsummer weekend to you!
I love those ferns! Great capture of the vulture. I have never tried the teas. Just never have wanted hot tea, but might be fun to try some on winter.
ReplyDeleteHello Rose,
DeleteThe herbal teas are good, I have been enjoying different flavors and teas! Thanks for the visit and comment. Have a great day and a happy weekend.
Passa uma boa sensação ver essas fotos tão lindas da natureza que tão bem mostras! Adorei! beijos, chica
ReplyDeleteThanks Chica! Happy Midsummer weekend!
DeleteHi Eileen...Another good fire road walk...well I like tea and sometimes it's just one tea bag in a water bottle...I like the spiced fruity ones, I especially like citrus blends with Green tea. I drink it cold rather than hot.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sondra! I like green tea with lemon. Enjoy your day!
DeleteBeautiful pictures of the different birds Eileen.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been drinking coffee in 5 years, I only drink tea.
In the morning I drink mint tea, and in the afternoon rooibos with cherry flavor and in the evening I drink soothing tea, good before bedtime.
Best regards Irma
Hello Irma,
DeleteThe mint tea is good, the rooibos with cherry sounds great. Thanks for the comment. Have a great day and a happy weekend.
I would love to read the Maisie Dobbs series again from the beginning. It's SO good! Love your birds, especially the nuthatch...the vulture not so much! heehee! We just got some Hibiscus tea and it is very good! We have another one with Raspberry and I like it served cold. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteHello, Diane
DeleteThanks for the comment, I would like to try the Hibiscus Tea! The herbal teas have some good health benefits. Enjoy your day!
Such a variety of critters!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jenn! Have a great day!
DeleteI love my morning coffee, but am cutting back to one mugful. Tea gift a few years ago from my son was "Tea of the Month." Since they were all loose teas, I've kept my favorites and shared the others. Herbals are often in my cup...mints, camomile, green or whites, and my favorite Herbal Medicinal is Breathe Easy. I don't prefer the black teas as much, and I'm a honey in my tea drinker. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteHello, Barbara
DeleteThere are so many herbal teas, I will check out the Breathe Easy. I like the mint tea too. Thanks for the visit and comment. Have a great day and a happy weekend.
I love Nuthatches! I do drink coffee, but I also enjoy tea. Stash makes some good ones (Zen is one of my favorites). I've also found an Earl Grey with double bergamot which is really good!
ReplyDeleteThanks Vera!
DeleteThe Earl Grey is one of my favorites. Have a great day and a happy weekend.
Oh, I misspoke on the brand of my Breathe Easy tea...it's Traditional Medicinals. One of many teas I love. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThanks again Barbara! I will give it a try!
DeleteThat vulture image is awesome. Y'know, I don't think I've heard the towhee song. Love the shot of ferbs!
ReplyDeleteThank Anni! I love the ferns, they look beautiful this year.
DeleteHave a great day and a happy weekend!
that's a fascinating view of the turkey vulture. I'd hate to meet him in a dark alley!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeanie! I am glad the vultures are there cleaning up the area. Have a great day!
DeleteThe ferns this time of year are so beautiful! I always notice them.
ReplyDeleteThanks Marie! The ferns do look beautiful. Have a great day!
DeleteLovely blue sky and neat turkey vulture phoot and other sweet feathered friends photography ~ agree ~ it is the simple pleasures that are divine and I read some of the same books ~ love the Maisie Dobbs series ~
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend ^_^

Hello,
DeleteThe Maisie Dobbs series is good, this is my first time reading them. Thanks for the comment and visit.
Enjoy your day!
I usually drink more tea in the winter months and enjoy a good cup of green tea. We have turkey vultures around here as well; they are kind of creepy; but have their place in the ecosystem.
ReplyDeleteHello,
DeleteThe vultures do look creepy. They do a good job though! Thanks and have a great day!
I had to laugh when I saw Tom's comment because that is what I said to my wife. The turkey vulture is one ulgy bird. :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day!
LOL, they are big and ugly. Thanks for the comment! Enjoy your day, happy weekend!
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! The ferns are very pretty, and I like them very much.
Have a nice evening!
Hello, I enjoy seeing the ferns on our walks. They look beautiful. Thank you! Happy Midsummer weekend to you!
DeleteYes, there is so much to be thankful for. I really like to put my focus on the "little" things which actually in the great scheme of things aren't so little after all.
ReplyDeleteI even love that Ugly Vulture. He looks like he should be in a Disney movie...(:0)
Sue
Hello Sue,
DeleteLOL, the Vulture could be in a Disney movie. I am thankful for the simple pleasures.
Thank you for the comment and visit! Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
The vultures look so great when in flight! Love seeing the Cedar Waxwings, Eileen!
ReplyDeleteHello, thanks for the comment and visit! Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
DeleteI heard plenty of towhees in my run today. Oven birds and hooded warblers too. Your photo just reminded me that I haven't seen cedar waxwings yet this year. We have a mulberry tree that they will mob soon.
ReplyDeleteHello, The Towhees have an interesting sound. The Waxwings do love the berries. Thank you for the comment and visit! Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
DeleteWhat a photo of a Waxwing, we haven't got anymore. Beautiful images Eileen.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bob! It is great to see the Waxwings here. Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
DeleteGreat shot of the blue sky and vulture - hope you have a great weekend Eileen!
ReplyDeleteHello Carol,
DeleteThank you for the comment and visit! Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
Pretty shots. The fire road looks like a great place to walk. Is it possible for a bird to be ugly and majestic at the same time? That's what comes to mind for me with the vulture.
ReplyDeleteHello,
DeleteI agree the vulture can be ugly and majestic at the same time. They look awesome in flight.
Thank you for the comment and visit! Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
That towhee looks so big dear Eileen! Happy Weekend soon!
ReplyDeleteHello,
DeleteThe Towhee is somewhat bigger at 8 1/2 inches. Thank you for the comment and visit! Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
Your posts make me happy and smiling!! I love Elizabeth George but so little time so many books and I don't seem to read as fast as I used to. But I reading more and watching television less which is working out wonderfully so far.
ReplyDeleteHello,
DeleteI found myself reading more than watching TV. I love the mysteries! Thank you for the comment and visit! Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
Enjoyed the views on your blog today, Eileen. I would have to say that Earl Grey is a favorite as is English Breakfast Tea. Hope the rest of your Thursday is good!
ReplyDeleteHello, Ellen,
DeleteThe Early Grey is a favorite of mine too. Thank you for the comment and visit! Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
Beautiful birds!
ReplyDeleteI drink tea once in a while and like the herb flavors.
Thanks Karen! The herbal flavored teas are good. They have a lot of health benefits too. Thank you for the comment and visit! Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
DeleteI hear cedar waxwings in the yard all the time but rarely see them. They nest in groups so you see many at one time.
ReplyDeleteHello Red,
DeleteI started off my morning walk hearing and seeing more Waxwings. They are beautiful! Thank you for the comment and visit! Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
yes, days going so fast....we meet another weekend by next two days....
ReplyDeleteThe Cedar Waxwings look pretty.....
Great shots of wild life
Hello Tanza,
DeleteThe time is going by so fast, June is half over. It seems like it just started.
Thank you for the comment and visit! Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
Amazing bird pics.
ReplyDeleteHappy weeked. Stay well.
Thank you for the comment and visit! Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
DeleteSplendid photos of all the birds Eileen. I have read several books in the Inspector Lyndsey and Maisie Dobbs series. Really well told and have a hard time putting them down. I enjoy Celestial Seasonings Honey Vanilla Chamomile and the berry flavor in The English Tea Shop brand, but my all time favorite and one I drink all the time is Yorkshire Gold. My grandmother would be aghast but I generally use tea bags, though I have a tea strainer that is sadly neglected these days :) Have a great weekend :)
ReplyDeleteHi Denise,
DeleteI have some Honey Vanilla Chamomile, it is good. I am always looking for new mystery authors, they are my favorites. The tea bags are convenient. Thank you for the comment and visit! Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
Immer wieder bin ich begeistert von den herrlichen Aufnahmen.
ReplyDeleteGrüße zum Wochenende
Lieselotte
Hello Lieselotte,
DeleteThank you for the comment and visit! Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
What a wonderful post. Everything is so beautifully green and lush! As always, I'm captivated by your photos! Thank you for your visit and have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteHello, thank you for the comment and visit! Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
DeleteI've seen a lot of those Turkey Vultures on the nearby park here.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I love trying out teas too. I just ordered some Roobios tea to try. I've been a PG Tips fan for a long time.
Hello, I really love the Rooibos. It has a nice flavor. Thank you for the comment and visit! Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
DeleteGreat photos, especially the Turkey Vulture! Nice photo of the Towhee, too. And that is a beautiful place for a walk.
ReplyDeleteI am a tea drinker. Boxes of tea bags in my pantry now: Irish Breakfast, Decaffeinated English Breakfast, Cinnamon Express (black tea), Cinnamon Apple Spice (herbal tea), Vanilla Chai (black tea), PG Tips (black tea), and Oolong Tea. I like the herbal tea Cinnamon Apple Spice the best, and Oolong tea the least. One thing (well, two) I have learned, for best flavor steep for the recommended time for each tea and don't squeeze the tea bags!
Have a great day!
Hello Lea, the Cinnamon Apple sounds good, I will check that out. I have to try the Irish, Breakfast and the Vanilla Chai too. I try to follow the steep time and the temperature of the water. Thank you for the comment and visit! Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
DeleteAmazing Shots!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the comment and visit! Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
DeleteOops, I overlooked a tea: Pure Rooibos Red Tea (herbal tea). My goodness, that makes 8 kinds of tea in my pantry!
ReplyDeleteLea, I order a pure Red Rooibos and really love it. I like having a choice and not always drink the same tea! Enjoy your day!
DeleteWow - that towhee photo is incredible - what a pose! I find it amazing that you know all the names of the birds. I'm not getting my usual fix of nature this year - spending my first ever summer here in Saudi Arabia due to the virus. So I am thankful for AC!!! Stay well.
ReplyDeleteThank you Susie! I am sure the AC is necessary! Take care, enjoy your weekend!
Deletewow, that vulture looks majestic but intimidating. happy weekend Eileen.
ReplyDeleteThanks Klara! Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy new week!
DeleteSuch beautiful photos! What a pretty place to take a walk. I'm a bit jealous of your sighting of the cedar waxwings! I've only seen them twice, once right on our deck though I didn't manage any decent photos and another time at my work. Enjoy those beautiful birds for me. My very favorite tea is Stash Green Chai. I always have a box of it in the cabinet.
ReplyDeleteHello, The Waxwings are a pretty sight to see. I have seen the brand Stash in the store, I will see if they have the Green Chai. Thank you for the comment! Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy new week!
DeleteI loved taking this walk with you. Im bookmarking and coming back! Not a tea drinker but...I do enjoy oolong tea. A Japanese lady introduced it to me. She worked at an art center where I did, and she made tea for her students and me each afternoon she had class. Its the only tea I drink.
ReplyDeleteHello JC,
DeleteI like the oolong tea, it is good. Thank you for the comment and visit! Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy new week!
The sunshine through the leaves is very beautiful. This place makes us calm.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the comment! Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy new week!
DeleteThat turkey vulture photograph is so excellent. He/she actually looked surprised that you were taking a picture. Wing span is so large. Have a happy first day of summer.
ReplyDeleteHappy Summer to you! Thank you for the comment! Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy new week!
Deletefun shot of the vulture. Makes me wonder what it is doing?
ReplyDeleteTake care!
Hello Monica,
DeleteI think they hold their wings open to air them out! Thank you for the comment! Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy new week!
I do like those ferns, and the sunshine through the trees looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteYou can't beat what many may call a proper cup of tea made with tea leaves.
Although for ease I often use tea bags.
All the best Jan
Thank you Jan! The tea bags are so easy to use.
DeleteEnjoy your day, have a great new week ahead!
We call those turkey vultures, buzzards, around here. They provide a very essential service! Thanks for linking up and have a great week.
