Happy Thursday!
This is a Throwback Thursday post, diving into my archives. I hope you enjoy, I miss traveling during these no-traveling times. This is one of my favorite national parks. Hubby, my son and I have been to Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Tetons National Park in 2005 and 2008. I would go back again if I could, but it is nice to do a post of our past memories and trips.
I am thankful for all the trips, hubby, son and I have taken over the years. I am thankful for all my archived photos I can look back on our happy trip memories. I am thankful for our beautiful national parks.
The canyon seen from the Upper/Lower Yellowstone Falls
Me and my hubby at the Continental Divide
A view of the Grand Teton mountain range. Another pretty day and beautiful blue sky.
The Grand Prismatic Spring at Yellowstone NP. It was a pretty sky day, I love the clouds and steam from the hot spring.
A moose seen from the Heron Pond and Swan Lake loop trail in the Grand Teton NP. This moose was wearing a tracking collar.
Yellowstone bison and a couple of Pronghorn.
I am thankful that I saw so much wildlife during our visit to the park. A moose seen off the road in Yellowstone.
Mama Elk with young at Mammoth Hot Spring, Yellowstone NP.
Oxbow Bend, near Jackson Hole, Wyoming. This was a popular spot for photographers...
A Grizzly Bear seen off the road in the Grand Teton NP.
We took a float trip on the Snake River, Jackson Wyoming. While floating down the river, I was able to see a few Bald Eagles and a large group of White Pelicans.
Deep in thought, hubby taking a break on the hot springs boardwalk. We stayed in various park cabins at Old Faithful, Mammoth, Colter Bay, it was great staying inside the park. It was nice that we could just walk to Old Faithful or to the Mammoth Hot Springs and to the lake.
Howdy Stranger, we spent a few nights in Jackson Hole Wyoming.
Even back in 2005 and 2008 I was bird watching, these were some of the birds we saw in Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming.
Unidentified Hummingbird, Cinnamon Teal, Magpie,
Trumpeter Swan, Cedar Waxwing, Dusky Grouse,
female Mountain Bluebird, Osprey, White Pelican.
We are looking forward to the days we can travel again, to plan a trip when we are feeling safe.
I hope everyone is happy and healthy! 😊 Please wear your masks and keep social distancing.. I am always thankful hubby and I are both doing well!
I am always thankful for your visits and the comments. Check back for any replies to your comments.

ReplyDeleteThanks David! I will look for that book on Yellowstone! Have a great day!
DeleteHi Eileen, your trip sounds wonderful. It is great to have photos to look back on. Oxbow Bend looks gorgeous and I can see why it was a popular photo stop. We wear our masks when out and about as well. I see many who do not. Enjoy your day.

ReplyDeleteThank you Marie! Have a great day!
DeleteSuch beautiful photos of nature's wonder...so glad you had time to stay there in the parks...I've only driven through like most of the crowd of cars. It must be strange for the animals to not have the people there these days.
ReplyDeleteThanks Barbara! It is great to get out of the car and do some hiking at this park. It is a popular park and can get very crowded. Have a great day!

DeleteHi Eileen, a very good look back! It's been a long time since I visited those areas the crowds of these times put me off and its not enjoyable, unless you can get out in the back country and away from the overcrowding...BUT you can see from your photos how beautiful it is and so no wonder everyone wants to see it for themselves!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sondra! It seem most USA national parks are over crowded.. We always try to visit most places off season. Even then it can be crowded. Thanks for the comment. Enjoy your day!
DeleteHello Eileen. What a joy to see your photos today. I actually have a very similar picture of the Grand Teton mountains as my screensaver at the moment! Even with this horrid virus, my daughter and I are still planning my next visit (hopefully 2022 or 2023), with a road trip to Yellowstone on the must-do list :)
ReplyDeleteStay safe and keep enjoying life, Mxx

DeleteHello Eileen,
ReplyDeleteI certainly enjoyed your photos.
I understand that not seeing you is also difficult, but our health is important.
Sorry also for my late responses.
the last few weeks, because of the heat (which was there for a short time) and the extra work that went through the corona, I haven't had the energy to crawl behind the PC. Now a small revival because next week I will be without a PC again!
Stay safe and enjoy the weekend.
Greetings, Helma
