Saturday's Critters #342

Welcome to Saturday's Critters!

If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!

Happy 4th of July,  Independence Day 2020!!

These are some birds seen during our fire road walks, in the forest next to our home.   The Ovenbird is a breeder in this forest and can be heard often, they have a loud call.

Below you can see the black bordered orange crown on the Ovenbird's head.

We walked by the old Great Blue Heron's nest and we saw 5 Turkey Vultures hanging out.  Below are 2 vultures standing on a branch with their wings wide open.

Out by our mailbox I saw a small flock of Cedar Waxwings.

The 3 Grand-dogs: Nibbles bottom right, Winnie the Corgi in the middle and at the top is Chewy.

Winnie has her favorite spot on the shelf under the coffee table.

Thanks to all my visitors and for all the wonderful comments. I appreciate everyone who loves critters and has linked up their critter post.

Here is my linky:

Also visit:  I'd-Rather-B-Birdin. Thanks to the host Anni.

  1. Wishing you Happy Independence Day! Wonderful sightings of birds from your walks. Cute grand dogs with cute names. I especially like the names Nibbles and Chewy. Were they nibbling and chewing everything they could got hold of when they were puppies? Looks like Winnie is playing hide and seek. They make great company. Thank you for hosting and happy weekend.

I could never decide weather I liked vultures or not. The head is soo ugly, but the body is great and powerful. Love to see the wings spread out.
I think Winnie found herself a great spot.

And funny shot of the dog under the table. This way he can keep an eye on everything and maybe occasionally pick up a cookie if you don't pay attention...hihi...!!

  52. Good Sunday morning Eileen and Happy 4th of July the birthday of our great country! This Ovenbird does have a silly name and when I googled it guess it may have to do with the area and being hot, like an oven. I like learning new things, and I thought I'd seen them around here, but it seems doubtful. They are sweet, and as always your posts are enlightening and interesting. Enjoy your Sunday and next week.
