Happy Saturday! Have a happy weekend!
If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!
These are photos from the Blackwater Wildlife Refuge, the critters were all seen from the car..
Feed me, Mama Osprey and youngster.
Great Egret and a Great Blue Heron.
Below, I believe are 5 of the Eastern Painted Turtles, they have the bright yellow spots near the eyes and the yellow stripes along the jaw line. They are found in fresh and brackish water.
This (Black Rat ) snake was crossing wildlife drive, I stopped the car and waited for it to go into the grass.
A cute bunny next to the drive.
Ospreys and their nest were a common sight at the Blackwater NWR.
Thanks to all my visitors and for all the wonderful comments. Stop back for any replies to your comments. I appreciate everyone who loves critters and has linked up their critter post.

With the osprey are the beautiful scene when feeding the young and the snake or the funny water turtles and great are the beautiful different herons. The rabbit is the cute as he looks!

I wish you a happy weekend, hugs Elke
Thank you Elke! I appreciate the comment and link today!
DeleteTake care, enjoy your weekend!
It is funny how a bird like the osprey is common in your area and if ever one was seen in Northern Ireland, it would nearly meet the BBC news!! Love the cute bunny Eileen. Thanks for hosting, stay safe and have a wonderful weekend. I am off to my old caravan now for a couple of days as mu knee is nearly 100% now.
ReplyDeleteThank You Margaret.
DeleteThe Ospreys are pretty common around here. I am glad your knee has healed.
Take care, have a great weekend.
I like seeing osprey. Though I know this is a good environment for them I don't see them as often as I'd like. I think they compete with bald eagles, of which we have many. And I can't remember the last time I saw a turtle! I enjoy your photos, and certainly the wildlife refuge!
ReplyDeleteThank you Kay!
DeleteI love seeing all the critters.
Have a great weekend!
Amazing pics.

...Eileen, a fabulous collection, the first one is amazing. Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteThanks Tom! Enjoy your weekend!
DeleteWow! What a great array!
ReplyDeleteI love the turtles lined up. We have an osprey nest not far away. One flew over, but our wetland is all dry, so no luck.
The best is the photo with the egret and the heron! Thanks for hosting!
Thanks Jenn! I love seeing the Ospreys and their nest.
DeleteHave a great weekend!

ReplyDeleteThank you Marie! Have a great day and weekend!
DeleteVery nice that you can see the osprey like that! And even better with the nest.
ReplyDeleteThanks Brian! I am glad my camera has a great zoom!
DeleteEnjoy your weekend!
Hi Eileen. You have given us a cracking selection of birds and animals today. Those turtles along the log seem to be having a lovely time but I'm wondering if they are something those Ospreys might target? If so they would need to move sharpish if an Osprey was overhead. You are so lucky to have that refuge so close to home and viewable from the car.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for the link up today. Always appreciated.
Hello, Phil
DeleteI think the ospreys in the area have so much to eat, lots of fish! Thanks for the comment and link!
Have a great weekend!
Nice wildlife shoot from the drive and the turtles remind me the kids climbing on the ladder to play slide. Great shots
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend
Thank you Jeevan! Have a great weekend!
DeleteMany of our young Ospreys now have left the nest and can be seen practicing their flying and hunting skills. Two days ago we watched one get into a tussle with a Bald Eagle - probably not the smartest thing to do.
ReplyDeleteHello David,
DeleteIt is amazing to see the Ospreys and Eagles chasing each other.. They put on a good show.
Thanks for the comment. Enjoy your weekend!

ReplyDeleteThanks Sandra! I was lucky with the osprey feeding the baby. The nest was not too far away.
DeleteI love the bunnies too. Enjoy your day, happy weekend!
Especially nice shots of the ospreys and the Cottontail. It looks so different from its Marsh Rabbit cousin which is the only species we have in the south Florida wetlands.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ken! The bunny was a cutie!
DeleteTake care, enjoy your weekend!
That is a place I'd love to see with my own eyes, Eileen. Beautiful photos!

DeleteThe bunny sure is cute and looks like Mr. Heron is getting ready for a dive! You take the best photos! I was happy to hear you like the Canon cameras too. My zoom is acting up on my 50 so I hope to send it in and have it worked on. It's such a great camera! I'm liking my new one too! Happy weekend!

Hi Eileen, You sure got some neat photos at Blackwater NWR. I enjoyed all of them. I am grateful for the people in government who established NWRs and for those, like you, who visit and share their photos. I wish all of this would be higher on the list of priorities these days.
