Saturday's Critters #346

Welcome to Saturday's Critters!

Happy Saturday! Have a happy weekend!

If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!

These are photos from the Blackwater Wildlife Refuge, the critters were all seen from the car..

Feed me, Mama Osprey and  youngster.

Great Egret and a Great Blue Heron.

Below, I believe are 5 of the Eastern Painted Turtles, they have the bright yellow spots near the eyes and the yellow stripes along the jaw line. They are found in fresh and brackish water.

This (Black Rat ) snake was crossing wildlife drive, I stopped the car and waited for it to go into the grass.

A cute bunny next to the drive.

Ospreys and their nest were a common sight at the Blackwater NWR.

Thanks to all my visitors and for all the wonderful comments.  Stop back for any replies to your comments. I appreciate everyone who loves critters and has linked up their critter post.

Here is my linky:

  3. It is funny how a bird like the osprey is common in your area and if ever one was seen in Northern Ireland, it would nearly meet the BBC news!! Love the cute bunny Eileen. Thanks for hosting, stay safe and have a wonderful weekend. I am off to my old caravan now for a couple of days as mu knee is nearly 100% now.

  4. I like seeing osprey. Though I know this is a good environment for them I don't see them as often as I'd like. I think they compete with bald eagles, of which we have many. And I can't remember the last time I saw a turtle! I enjoy your photos, and certainly the wildlife refuge!

  23. Hi Eileen. You have given us a cracking selection of birds and animals today. Those turtles along the log seem to be having a lovely time but I'm wondering if they are something those Ospreys might target? If so they would need to move sharpish if an Osprey was overhead. You are so lucky to have that refuge so close to home and viewable from the car.

Many thanks for the link up today. Always appreciated.

  25. Many of our young Ospreys now have left the nest and can be seen practicing their flying and hunting skills. Two days ago we watched one get into a tussle with a Bald Eagle - probably not the smartest thing to do.

I am grateful for the people in government who established NWRs and for those, like you, who visit and share their photos. I wish all of this would be higher on the list of priorities these days. Thanks for another fine Saturday's Critters. Hope you have a good weekend and a happy week ahead. John
