Welcome to Saturday's Critters!
Happy Saturday! Have a great weekend!
If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!
I have a few yard birds to share today, I've been seeing the Brown Thrasher going to the blueberries, the American Goldfinches like the sunflower seed feeders and an Eastern Wood-Pewee catching bugs in the yard.
The Brown Thrasher on top the swing..Some blueberries survived the tree fall on top our our bushes. I've been watching the birds going into the blueberry bushes.
The American Goldfinches seem to come and go, I do not see them every day. This one is perched on a nearby butterfly bush.
Goldfinch and the Wood Pewee.
I've been hearing the Eastern Wood Pewee calling around my yard, this day I saw him/her sitting on the swing set.
It may be a juvenile Pewee.

Thanks for the comment and visit. Have a great weekend!
How wonderful it is to have excess berries in our garden for the birds that visit our garden. I will be spending a lot of time trying to take snapshots of the birds. The birds visiting your yard are very pretty ones. Thank you, Eileen for hosting. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you Nancy! Good luck taking the bird photos.
DeleteSometimes they sit still for a photo. Have a great weekend!
Hello Eileen, I love the Goldfinch and the young Peewees. The Thrasher looks a lot like our Babblers. Thanks for hosting this meme. I am sharing a few critters on my first day out after being tied to the house for many weeks. I trust you're safe and keeping well. Jo (PS I'm the first commenter - yay! )
ReplyDeleteHello Jo,
DeleteI am so glad you are feeling better and your leg is healed. It is nice to get outside. I know Skabby enjoys his walks to the water. Thanks so much for sharing your post and for commenting. Have a great weekend.
You are very lucky. I have never watched such colorful birds like a goldfinch. I hope the environment for small birds will have been stable in the future.

Deletelol, seems they have a nice smorgasbord to choose from. :)
ReplyDeleteNot sure if you use this Swedish word, smörgåsbord, for a buffet anymore?
My favorite today is the little peewee. :)
Take care!
Hello Monica

The only one I’ve ever seen is the goldfinch? The pewee looks like he’s not sure what the world is all about. Cutie!
ReplyDeleteThanks Marie! The Pewee knew to catch the bugs, they must learn fast.
DeleteI was watching him/her fly up and catch the bugs. Have a great weekend!
Nice photos! We have some Thrashers around, too, and the Goldfinches have been hit and miss as well.
ReplyDeleteThanks Brian! My Goldfinches come and go too. Have a great weekend!
DeleteHello Eileen. It's good that your thrasher cleans up the fallen blueberries so that they don't go to waste. I hope it doesn't eat your breakfast portions though. Love the bright yellow of your goldfinch. Hope you have a lovely weekend and thanks for the linky today.
ReplyDeleteThanks Phil! we planted the blueberry bushes just for the birds.

I love the golden eyes of the Brown Thrasher! One of our favorite birds. Jealous of your Goldfinch as we only see them during migration and they are much duller in appearance.

DeleteHope you are well, take care. Have a great day and happy new week!
The swing set makes a great perch ....so wonderful that you have such a nice variety of birds in your own backyard. I’ve only seen brown thrashers once , their eyes are so interesting and it’s interesting that they like your leftover blueberries. The birds at our daughters don’t seem to pay much attention to theirs oddly. .... you asked (over on mine) about the “bee waterer” .... It’s just plain water out of the garden hose as it was meant to be a bird bath for the perching birds, not for hummingbirds, they have a another feeder for them. . ... thank you so much for hosting and I really appreciate the effort and time involved in it and all your help and comments.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the answer Sallie! I never have seen bees drinking water.
DeleteYes, the swing set is a good perch for the birds. The berry bushes are nearby.
Have a great day and happy new week!
