Happy Thankful Thursday!!

Happy Thursday!

Lately it seems our days are drizzly, cloudy and cold.  It is not really my type of walking weather. I still try to get outside for a walk, check out the birds along the fire roads and at the lake.

1.  Walking along the fire road there was a flock of Eastern Bluebirds in the trees and drinking out of a puddle on the ground.

The Bluebird carries the sky on his back..Henry David Thoreau

2. We can walk to the lake and not see a single person. I saw a group of ducks flying away, we must have spooked them when we got closer to the lake.  I did find one Canada Goose sitting on the lakeshore. The sun looking like the moo.

3.  Our cloudy sky made the sun look more like the moon.

Learn to find joy in your life, you'll attract happiness.

4.  A pretty sunset on Jan 2nd.

Optimists find joy in the small things...

 5.  Random photos from our snow covered fire road walk on Dec 22nd.  Me and my shadow, a pretty sky, animal foot prints (opossum) in the snow and a sunburst with
maybe a deer foot prints .  I am thankful to see a blue sky...

6.  Below are Jupiter and Saturn not quite the Christmas star, my view they looked pretty far apart.  Also seen in the night sky on Dec 22nd on the right Waxing Gibbous Moon.

 7. The moon on Dec 29th..I seem to love taking photos of the moon..I am always thankful for a clear sky, when there is a special night sky event happening.   These are just some random images, ones I have not previously shared on a post.  I am thankful for a good book, a nice day for a walk, calm and peaceful days.

Jan 6th was a sad day for our country, our country's leader incited and led an angry mob of terrorists/extremists to attack our capitol building. Watching this happening I was shocked, afraid for our congress members and workers in this building and the police. There should be a peaceful transition between the two administrations, it doesn't happen when one side is refusing to step out. There can only be one winner and the people have chosen their new leader.

I am thankful we live in a democracy, a government FOR all People.

I remain thankful that we continue to stay safe and healthy.

I hope everyone stays healthy and safe.

Go outside and breathe deeply.  Enjoy every moment.

Take care and stay safe!

Live simple and be happy!  😊 Keep smiling!

  3. But don't overlook the fact that 70 millions of your fellow citizens just voted for Donald Trump even after fours years of his destructive time in office, more than any former president save for President-elect, Joe Biden. Think about that. Those people and those sentiments are not just going away. There are countless parliamentary democracies around the world which function perfectly well and look upon what has been happening in the USA with horror and disbelief. The incident at the Capitol has passed, the danger has not.

    1. Thanks, David! I have high hopes for Biden's leadership and his ability to unite and heal our country. The cult leader has been telling lies for 4 years, repeatedly. Eventually even cult followers realize the dangers of following a cult, they wake up and leave the cult. The media needs to stop covering the lunatic, we need move onto fixing our country..

  8. Those bluebirds in the trees are just gorgeous! They take the grey from winter trees. How fortunate you are to be able to get out for a walk. The weather has been prohibitive here which hasn’t helped my mood. There’s nothing like a walk in nature, even in winter. I always enjoy your shadow photos.

  11. The sun looked just like that this morning when I took the trash out. I watched history unfolding yesterday, and will comment on it tomorrow on my blog. Much brainwashed, cult followers, but without any real leader, so they will all wish it never happened, and continue to dream with their hopes. I hope many of them (including tRump) receive punishment for insurrection.

  24. Another great post love the moon shots,,,well I was not surprised in the least and been telling anyone who would listen this was on the horizon. I for one won't pass the time of day with their ideology, they have gone so far off the rail, not even the Polar express could bring us back together at this point. I think the right needs to lighten up and stop so being so rigid, and then the left can hold off till they catch up. Meanwhile I will continue to vote blue and hope we can get some good souls in leadership.

    1. Hello Sondra,
I also felt like something bad was bound to happen, our so called leader incited trouble with all his rallies. He is a Hitler wanna-be. Mob boss t.RUMP, his family and his lawyer all need to leave now. I can't stand to listen to him, I mute the sound any time he comes on. He is a pathological liar. I pray Biden can heal and unite our country.

January 6th will be a day in infamy I think. I don't know what they were thinking. Our president really let everybody down and then afterwards left the cleanup and aftermath to others. A failure.

  40. Hi Eileen, I love this: “I am thankful for a good book, a nice day for a walk, calm and peaceful days.” Eileen, I could not have said it better. And, I also love what you said about January 6th. What a sad day for our country, and provoked mostly by a man whose motto is to make America great again. What a tragic dichotomy. Now, back to the good: I admire your interest in the skies and heavens. We have a shared interest in astronomy and I think that’s pretty neat. Always enjoy you moon photos!
