Welcome to Saturday's Critters!
Hello and happy Saturday!
If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!
Again I am sorry to be late commenting and visiting your posts. I will be catching up with all your blogs as soon as possible. Thanks for the links, comments and visits.
1. Sept 8th, I am still enjoying the Ruby-throated Hummingbirds in my yard and at the feeders. I just love these cute little birds, they should be heading south soon.
2. Sept 8th, hubby and I took a walk on the local fire road. I could hear lots of Blue Jays, Crows and the Nuthatches. Walking back down our road I heard and saw my first of the year Red-Breasted Nuthatch. A lousy photo, the Nuthatch flew off the branch as I was snapping a photo. You can make out the dark eye line and the white supercilium.
3. Sept 8th, in the backyard, I am still seeing the Black Swallowtails, Monarch and Fritillary butterflies, the hummers are still here and the flowers are looking beautiful.
4. Sept 8th, exactly 8 months the grand dogs are headed to their new home with my son and his family. See you next time, Nibbles and Winnie.
5. Sept 9th, Just hubby and I on this walk to the lake. The Slider turtles were out on a limb catching some sunshine.
6. Sept 9th, a Double-crested Cormorant found a perch in the middle of the lake.
7. Sept 9th, back in our yard, the birds are enjoying the berries on the Devil's Walking Stick. Below are the Gray Catbird and Cape May Warbler.
Thank you for sharing your critters and post!

Well, to have no comments is a surprise...but I'll try anyway. Saying goodbye to the granddogs must have been mixed emotions. I do hope the grand-children will enjoy having them around. Loved your butterflies and flowers!

These are great Eileen, from your Ruby-throated Hummingbird, your other birds, your grand doggies, butterflies and those turtles. Wonderful variety of interesting sights on your walk. The Devil’s Walking Stick is fitting with Halloween around the corner. Happy October and have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you Denise!

I'll miss your granddogs! And that silver throated hummer is a stunner!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeanie!

Ha! I enjoyed your photo of the Red-breasted Nuthatch, as I have so many like it, except that mine have no identifying markers. We just had our first-of-season Red-breasted Nuthatches at the feeder yesterday..
ReplyDeleteThank you Ken! I still use those photos just to document my sightings. I wish I could have gotten a better photo.
DeleteTake care, have a great day!
...Eillen, I Love your butterflies today. Thanks for hosting, enjoy a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you Tom!
DeleteTake care, have a great day!
Ahh, time for the doggies to go home. They are going to miss you! That hummer photo is such a sweet one. All our hummers have vacated our backyard. Thank you for all your visits while we were in England. I'm just now getting mostly over the jetlag. The older we get the longer it takes. Happy October to you!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ellen! The jetlag is awful. I hope you are feeling back to normal.
DeleteTake care, have a great day!
The dogs love a good outing! We never saw hummingbirds here this summer for some reason. The lady at the sunflower farm said they saw a lot though. Enjoy your weekend! Have fun!
ReplyDeleteThank you Diane! My hummers have headed south now, I miss them this winter.
DeleteTake care, have a great day!

Hi Eileen. I love that shot of the hummingbird. I saw some Junkos this morning which I always take as a sign of winter since they only come down here when it goes cold way up north. It was nice to hear them peeping away.
ReplyDeleteThank you RedPat! I hope to see some winter birds soon.
DeleteTake care, have a great day!
Maravilloso reportaje, siempre me encantan. Feliz mes de octubre.
ReplyDeleteThank you Teresa!

Hello Eileen
ReplyDeleteOnce again many thanks for your lovely photographs and pretty mosaics.
Hoping the grand-dogs settle quickly to being back home with your son, wife and children.
Happy October wishes.
All the best Jan
Thank you Jan!

Hello Eileen :=)
ReplyDeleteYour capture of the very cute Ruby throated Hummingbird is phenomenal, and so is the lovely Hibiscus flower, and all the butterflies. What a shame the Red-breasted Nuthatch moved just as you took its photo, it's good to see the Devil's Walking Stick is still attracting the birds. Do these birds stay around all year? I'm sure you are going to miss your grand dogs, and they will miss you. Goodbye Nibbles and Winnie, we will miss them too.
All the best Eileen, and thank you for hosting.
Thank you Sonjia! No, these birds have migrated south now. We will be happy now to visit the dogs at my son's home.
DeleteTake care, have a great day!
Best wishes to the grand-dogs!
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda!
DeleteTake care, have a great day!

Eileen - as always, a fabulous collection of critters. I would gladly trade some of my Red-breasted Nuthatches for your warblers! Have you been affected by weather related to Hurricane Ian!
ReplyDeleteThank you Angie! Yes, we are getting a lot of rain now.
DeleteTake care, have a great day!
you are still seeing so many critters on september 9th. my hummingbirds are long gone and so are the monarchs. the chrysalis i have left in my butterfly cage will over winter and emerge next year, something to look forward to. the pups are so cute, waiting to go to their forever home!! have an awesome week and many thanks for hosting!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Debbie! You have done a great job raising the butterflies.
DeleteTake care, have a great day!
Dear Eileen, don't mind if you're late with your comments. Sometimes life just doesn't allow for immediate comment...
ReplyDeleteI will be taking a blog break for the foreseeable future. Our cat Nina has crossed the rainbow bridge - and there are other things that often keep me away from the computer. Today I link my farewell to Nina with you.
I'm delighted with your little hummingbird, these delicate birds are always a touching sight. It's a pity that the Red-Breasted Nuthatch was so camera shy - unfortunately it's often the same for me when I want to photograph birds...
How wonderful: Both your flowers and your Devil's Walking Stick in the backyard always attract critters. And your lake often offers a good opportunity for animal sightings. I hope you don't miss the walks with Nibbles and Winnie too much. They must have been very lovable hiking partners.
Wishing you a good new week, too,
hugs, Traude

Oh, my, Winnie and Knibbles...I bet they are going to miss their walks. That is a great hummingbird shot.
ReplyDeleteThank you Rose! The dogs may miss the walks, but they have a big fenced in yard now.
DeleteTake care, have a great day!
I've missed all your pretty critters, dear Eileen. We haven't seen that many birds migrating to warmer climes just yet, this year.

I do hope you are okay Eileen. You've been missed
ReplyDeleteThank you Annie! Hubby and I were away on a trip to Kauai Hawaii for the week.
DeleteTake care, have a great day!
The dogs will likely miss their lovely walks with you but the smaller wildlife and birds along the way will perhaps feel a little less tense. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Maria!
DeleteTake care, have a great day!
The granddogs don't look happy; perhaps they are thinking about how much they miss your company and attention. The butterfly and flower collage is lovely, and I hope you continue to walk in nature's company!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week!
Thank you Jeevan!
DeleteTake care, have a great day!
Your photos always blow me away. I've missed so much. But hope to be better now that I'm off FB! :)

Buena semana Eileen.
Un abrazo.
Thank you Laura, I appreciate your comment. Have a great week ahead.
DeleteWonderful birds and butterflies. You two are dog-free now! Trip to celebrate soon? The big dog, I forget which is which, looks like he is singing a goodbye song to you in that one picture. They are both cute pups and I know your "kids" and the boys are happy to have them home again.
ReplyDeleteHello Sallie,
DeleteYes, we love our road trips and traveling. We are just back from a week away. Thanks so much for the comment and visit. Take care, enjoy your day and the week ahead.
Now, I`m sitting on the "great" PC and can write a comment ... I enjoyed again the lovely captures of the birds. They are amazing. I like to photograph birds too ... and other animals, especially our cat. For the birds I`m often much too slow.
ReplyDeleteWish you a very good week and say THANK YOU for hosting.
Thank you Heidrun, I appreciate the link and comment. I am slow withe birds, or they are much faster. Take care, enjoy your day and the weekend ahead.
Beijinhos! Bom fim de semana!
