Saturday's Critters # 570

Welcome to Saturday's Critters! Hello and Happy Saturday!

If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!

These photos are from our Aug 21-22 visit to Delaware and the Bombay Hook NWR. This wildlife refuge always seem to have lots of birds. Some are birds are breeders and some are just visiting. My first post for this getaway is here Black-bellied Whistling Ducks in Delaware .

1. Top left American Goldfinch, possible juvenile Cooper's Hawk, Yellowlegs, Monarch Butterfly, juvenile Little Blue Heron, I am guessing the last bottom right is an Eastern Phoebe.

2. Bombay Hook NWR is always a good place to see the American Avocets.

3. Blue Grosbeak looking handsome.

Eastern Kingbird and the top photo includes an American Goldfinch.

4. Various shorebirds, I see a few Black-bellied Plovers.

5. Various shots of the Great Egrets, there may be some Snowy Egrets mixed in.

6. We did not have to go to Florida to see the Sandhill Cranes, these two spent most of the summer at Bombay Hook NWR.

7. Sandhill Crane couple.

8. These two birds caused a traffic jam on the wildlife drive.

9. Great Blue Heron with lunch.

10. Avocets, Great Egret and possibly Dunlins in flight.

I hope you enjoyed my photos from Bombay Hook NWR, it is one of my favorite places to see the wildlife.

Bonus image: my two grandsons were dinosaurs for Halloween. They looked so cute!

Hubby and I have both been sick this week, so I have missed visiting blogs this week. I hope we are both back to normal, it's not fun being sick.

I am linking up to Heidrun's Mosaic Monday  I hope you can stop by and visit Heidrun and check out the Mosaic Monday post.

Thanks to all my visitors and for your past and present comments. Stop back to see any replies to your comments. I appreciate everyone who loves and respects wildlife. Thank you for linking up a critter post.

Hello Eileen,
A beautiful series of photos and collages from your visit to the Delaware and the Bombay Hook NWR.
The Blue Cardinal is my favorite this time.
I can't post my link, there was an update from Microsoft and it doesn't work in either way.
Can you post my link?
Both of your grandsons are so cute in dinosaur outfits.
I wish you a very nice weekend.
Greetings Irma

First - be very well very soon!!! There is no straightforward 'cold' anymore and we must take all good care of ourselves.
Second - lovely images as we have come to expect from you, Eileen -but I have to say that the Blue Grosbeak really caught my attention today! Sending healing vibes, YAM xx

I only visited Bombay Hook once and remember it as a fabulous place for birds. I clearly recall that there were hundred of Glossy Ibises probing for food, in addition to many other interesting species, of course. The two little Trick-or-Treaters look terrific. Have a great weekend.,

Great bird photos! And thank you for hosting Saturday Critters again.

Isn’t it amazing how the Sandhill Cranes have been extending their range? Years ago, they spent time only in one small marsh in our area. Now they are spread out over a large territory, and some of them no longer migrate, but stay all year.

What an incredible collection of critters! Your photos from Bombay Hook NWR are stunning, and it’s great to see so many beautiful birds captured so well. I love how you’ve shared such a variety—from the elegant American Avocets to the striking Blue Grosbeak. It’s clear that this wildlife refuge is a haven for birdwatchers. You’ve inspired me to get out and explore more critter-filled spots!

eileen...first and foremost, i hope you are feeling better. there is nothing worse than feeling sick, missing out on life's joys. but one thing it does do for you when you feel better, is appreciates life's simple pleasure more than ever. this is a wonderful post filled with so many beautiful, colorful birds. it is fun to view a post from august when many of of birds have not yet left for winter. how unusual to see the sandhill cranes up here, i did not know they were. those 2 little dinosaurs stole the show for me. they are adorable and you are so lucky to be able to enjoy those special days with them!! take care and rest up...many thanks for hosting us critter lovers!!
