Saturday's Critters # 596

Welcome to Saturday's Critters! Hello and Happy Saturday!

If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!

I am sharing my mish-mash of photos, our walks with Miney, my back yard birds and a visit to see our grandchildren.

Click on images for better viewing.

1. March 22nd, another walk to the Prettyboy reservoir to see the Eagles nest. Our second time to check out the nest only to find it empty again.

2. March 22nd, while we were out walking with Miney the Peacock came for a visit. Who left the gate open? The peacock was sitting on our deck railing when we got home.

3. March 25th, fire road walk with Miney to the lake

4. March 25th, the Peacock was back sitting on the swing set.

5. March 29th, my back yard birds: the Peacock, Eastern Bluebird, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Hairy Woodpecker, Dark-eyed Junco and the White-throated Sparrow.

6. March 29th, on the NCR trail with Miney.

7. March 30th, we took Miney with us to visit with our son, DIL and our grandchildren. Winnie the Corgi had fun playing with Miney.

8. A flashback looking at a couple of my Florida favorite birds seen in a couple of favorite places.

Flashback images are from May 2015  Gatorland in Kissimmee Florida I am sharing a Cattle Egret.  There was a large breeding marsh at the Gatorland Park,  my main reason for visiting was to see all the heron and egrets in their rookery.

From March 2017, a Green Heron seen at the Circle B Preserve near Lakeland Florida.

I am linking up to Heidrun's Mosaic Monday  I hope you can stop by and visit Heidrun and check out the Mosaic Monday post.

Good morning, Eileen – I don’t think I will ever see too much of Miney – what a cute dog – and the Peacock – what a beautiful bird. I especially enjoy your pictures taken along the NCR trail. I think I’ve mentioned before … I’m a railroad fan, especially the history of railroads. The abandoned rail beds are a fascination to me … walking them and thinking about the days when trains rolled along where I’m walking. Hope you’ll keep showing us more pictures along the trail. Now, your picture of the empty Eagle’s nest reminds me … I wanted to share something I just discovered this past week. The Big Bear Bald Eagle’s Nest Cam on YouTube. You are probably already watching 😊 There are two Eagles in the nest and they are going to fledge any day now … maybe today! I watched the nest for hours yesterday and was totally fascinated. Here is a link

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4-L2nfGcuE

Thanks, as always, for sharing and hosting Saturday’s Critters. Wishing you and your hubby a happy weekend and week ahead. John PS I forgot to mention … I also enjoyed the family visit pics!

As beautiful as peacocks are, I do not think I want one hanging around my yard. Well, if they were mute, maybe.....

eileeninmd said...

Thanks for the visit and comment. The Peacock is very loud and has been calling often. I think he is looking for a mate to magically appear. Have a great day!

Good morning Eileen, thank you so much for extending your posting time for S-Critters I wasn't able to post until now, and it's Tuesday my day off. Great photos of your outings and it appears your Peacock is getting comfortable around you all. I know with ours it takes time. Ours is pretty busy all night long now with mating season upon us, and he was quite loud the other night. I feel so bad that he'll never have a mate here but is it possible that you have more than one around your area? Enjoy the week ahead.

eileeninmd said...

Thanks Karen, I appreciate your critter link and post.
I think there are some female peacocks living on a farm just up the street. The Peacock has been calling night and day!
Take care, have a great week!
