Lately I have been enjoying some FOY which is first of the year birds in my yard. The Purples Finches and the White Throated Sparrows are two birds I usually see more in the winter months.

GReat backyard bird photos Eileen!
ReplyDeletewow, they are just beautiful, so close up, when you can see all the details of their feathers.
ReplyDeletebeautiful captures! I'm not a birdwatcher so I don't know what breed they are but nice!
ReplyDeleteGreat closeups of your birds. We recently started feeding wild birds and hummers and love them so much. ♥olive
ReplyDeleteNice photos of the birds!
ReplyDeleteEileen, I just want to hug those cute little birds! We used to have a sweet olive hedge where a lot of tiny (what I believe to be) sparrows lived, and our neighbor's cat saw to it that they wouldn't be happy there. But when they used to sit in it all the time, after a rain, they would all chirp and sing!
ReplyDeleteHappy Outdoor Wednesday!
XO,
Sheila :-)

ReplyDeleteGreat photos! We love seeing all the birds at this time of year! You never know if you might see something different because of migration in the Fall! ♥
ReplyDeleteGreat photos!I nee to try and capture some of the birds in my yard, but they don't sit still!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful little birds, Great capture can't even imagine how patient you had to be to get these. Happy WW
ReplyDeleteDo you keep a record in a bird book which ones you are seeing? Lovely photos.

You always find the cutest birds! I see one with a worm in its mouth.
ReplyDeleteHappy birding!
great close ups, Eileen! my finches are changing into their winter garb as well.
ReplyDeleteI do not have a very powerful lens or zoom, so can not get these kind of close ups. my turkey vultures were snapped by DH with his camera that has an asst. of lens & features, I need simple ;) so I try through my dirty windows, that are cloudy from leaks between the panes... but I do get to enjoy the "live" action.
~hugs, Faythe @GMT, thanks 4 sharing
these are such beautiful birds. they are so kind to pose nicely for you. :)
ReplyDeletethey are beautiful, especially the one in the last photo. the reddish feathers look so smooth. very pretty!
ReplyDeleteThe backyard must be very busy...

Nice backyard birds and photos, Eileen. Reminds me winter is coming and the birds need to get fed to build up good reserves for the cold days.
ReplyDeleteHappy WW from another backyard bird lover.
ReplyDeleteYou seem to be living "in front" of paradiese.

What beautiful little visitors you have! I have birds here, but not that much of a variety :)
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your birdie post. I think my favorite bird or photo is the last one. (I think it was the bird I was attracted to because of the red in it, but maybe it was the photo that captured it so well.) ;o)
ReplyDeleteHi eileen! You are a great birdwatcher! And what's more a good photographer
ReplyDeletethe white throated sparrow is neat! Is it common where you live? I don´t think I´ve seen photos of it before.
