Cute Chickadees, the moon and a cup of coffee

I thought I mentioned in my blog that I had surgery on my thumb this past Tuesday. It appears my thumb does not like to stay in its proper place and dear Arthur set in from a previous thumb surgery. I must have mentioned it on my other blog. It will be in this cast until I go back for a follow up on the 31st.

These are a few shots from yesterday in my yard.   I have been keeping my camera on the tripod at the dining room window. It is easy to snap pic's one handed using the tripod. I'll be happier when my hand is out of this cast. Typing one handed is not fun.  Early in the morning I was able to watch the moon setting. Afterwards I enjoyed watching my yardbirds. These are a few of my favorite things that make me happy. Skywatching and birding...both can be addicting and fun.

I think these colors look good together, the moon and blue sky along with the chickadee with the pine tree background. Pretty nature scenes that make me happy.

The moon setting

A wake me up happy has been found with using my new Keurig (a Christmas present) coffee maker. I am able to use it one handed. I am loving all the different coffee flavors and that it is so simple to use. The Kona and Hazelnut flavors are two of my favorites coffees.
I am linking up with Mary's Mosaic Monday and That's My World  Thanks to Mary for hosting and to the gang at That's My World.

Also, thanks for stopping by to see my post, I hope you have a great week.

  3. These are beautiful! I think I like the compilations of each thing separately, the chickadee and the moon. In any event, they are both terrific captures!

  4. Hmmm hand in a cast .. I must have missed a blog post! Very nice pictures of the moon and the chickadee! By the way, I gave my hubby a Keurig for Christmas. He enjoyed trying all the different coffee selections as well. He ended up with a caffeine headache from all the tasting! I'm not a coffee drinker; however, I enjoy the tea and hot chocolate selections.

  10. Here in California the chickadees and the nuthatches seem to like the higher elevations. I see them a lot in the mountains but not here in the lowlands.

Meanwhile, I'm glad you have a tripod and plenty of birds to capture with your lens. Chickadees are such delightful, friendly birds!

  26. I love chickadees, they are so, well, so compact.
Commiserations on your poor thumb. We hardly ever realise how much we need each one of our digits until we lose the use of one. I hope it mends quickly and does not give you any more trouble.

While you have been occupied with the setting moon, I have been hammering away at the rising moon and not at all successfully.

Hope you have a great week, thumb not withstanding.

  45. Oh gosh, it's like a birding festival catching up on your blogposts. You see more from your window than many of us do when we go out purposely to bird. I am so impressed and thank you for sharing. Again, hope you get well soon; I know that hand surgery can be difficult. Do you have PT in your future? I have put you on my Google Reader now!
