On these cold dreary winter days I have been enjoying my colorful yardbirds. The Bluejays and the Cardinals really add some color to my yard. Their blue and red colors remind me of the pretty flowers that will be popping up in spring. Yes, I am thinking of and wishing Spring will come here fast. Neither of these two birds migrate so they are here year round and providing pretty colors to my yard. At times there are quite a few of the jays acting like piggies eating the peanuts I put on my deck railing.
Surprisingly just as many or more Cardinals both males and females are also visiting my feeders. The Cardinals look breathtaking in any snowy backyard. Come spring my Cardinal couple will chase off any other Cardinals that visit my yard. They are very territorial when it is their mating and breeding season.
I am linking up with Mary's Mosaic Monday and Sally's Blue Monday . I hope you will join in with these fun memes. Thanks to Mary and Sally for hosting and thank you for stopping by my post. Have a great week!

Pretty pictures of the blue jay and cardinals. My birds have been absent the past couple days. I hope they return soon. I miss them!
I really like these. We don't see either of these birds here in Idaho, and although we have stellar's jays for blue, we miss out on red.
I like the cardinal with his tail up a lot!
Two fabulous colourful collages Eileen.
I love your bird mosaics...it's easier to see these in the winter months! I've been taking my binoculars to the park to get a better view of the birds! Today I saw a phoebe...and many of the usual birds that we see here in Florida! ♥
what wonderful captures of these birds...you must be a very patient person!
Great shots of your visitors. The bluejays have not been to the feeders since November. Enjoy the week and take care.
Beautiful photos. The color is so vibrant. Beautiful mosaic.
What beautiful photos. I love the green behind the cardinals ~ almost can imagine it's spring for which we all long.
Cindy

Oh the colors of the birds in these photos are amazing!
So much beauty everywhere.I have the Blues, but I need some of the Reds at my house.Great mosaics.
What a lovely collage of bluejays and cardinals. The colors are gorgeous, and your shots are excellent. You are blessed to have such beautiful birds coming to see you. Hope you and your winged friends have a wonderful week.
I have both birds in my yard as well. They are so cheerful to look at against the dreary winter background. Lovely photos!
Hi Eileen
Two of my favourite birds and probably the nosiest too.
As much as we like to bird watch, they often are people watching, aren't they?
Great collages and captures.
Judith
Wow..I'm grateful we have cardinals here..but I can remember Blue Jays growing up..they are so beautiful! That would be one treat to see! Gorgeous mosaics and header!
My best to you for a great weekend-
Those are some touches of color I would love to have in my yard, I have never seen either Blue Jays or Cardinals in our area. I love your collages.
Beautiful pics and what great color the birds bring to winter! Piggy Birds-gotta love that:@)
Both blue jays and cardinals are colourful indeed!
Gorgeous photos of your bird friends. We have blue jays in summer but they are scarse in winter.
What beautiful color contrasts!!! So beautiful! Thank you too for your kind words. Wishing you a wonderful week! Cathy
Beautiful shot of that bluejay's tailfeathers! And I always love to see cardinals. Have only ever seen one in person once (on vcacation) since they are not native to my area.
Ooh I love these mosaics! I might have to try making one myself. Here in Oregon I do miss those Blue Jays and Cardinals... So pretty in the winter!
Beautiful beautiful photos Eileen!!! I envy you because I'm no good at getting bird!!!
Have a wonderful week!!!
Gorgeous birds!
m ^..^
Great pictures of your BLUE and RED birds, Eileen... Today, my son visited us --and he brought his camera hoping to get some good pictures of the birds... He DID --and sent me some pictures tonight that he took while here today... Guess what he got a picture of??? A PINE SISKIN... I hadn't seen one here at all this winter --and he comes for ONE day and sees one... How funny is that!!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
Elegant and lovely birds!
Have a great week ahead :)

Such fabulous photos and you've created beautiful mosaics. These birds are unfamiliar to me and it's just brilliant to see them in all their glory in your shots.
Eileen,
Lovely photographs in a lovely mosaic.
Have a wonderful week.
Carol
Eileen,
I love these mosaics. ... my two favorite feathered friends ... they visit my postage stamp backyard daily and I'm always amazed at their beauty!
Wonderful. I've never seen any bird as colourful as that red one!
Here's my Monday Mosaic
They are the most cutest colourful backyard birds. You are so lucky to have them visit.
How lucky you are to have these beauties in your garden and year round too.
Lovely mosaics.
What beautiful birds! I think that cardinals are probably my favorites, but I think jays are lovely, too... except when they ae guarding a nest. ;-) I have had friends (both women) named Jay!
Happy Blue Monday...
XO,
Sheila :-)
You get such beautiful birds to your yard! Makes such a lovely mosaic! Great pics, Eileen!
Those peanuts were a good investment!
Happy Blue Monday, Eileen.
Dear Eileen, your mosaics always are really special. You have to be a person with a lot of patience to get such wonderful shots. Entering your blog is always an event.
Have a good week! Anja
Oh what gorgeous shots of the birds!! I didn't know that little tidbit about cardinals being territorial. I've seen more than a few of both females and males alike in our yard. Are they only like that in the mating season? ~ Sue
I want it to come, spring. Lovely birds, Bluejays and Cardinals, beauties.
The blue Cardinal is certainly a beautiful bird. I don't see those in winter here. Great mosiacs.
Ann
Oh beautiful blue jays and cardinals. On occasion, I saw them way up in the tree, but can't never get a picture!
I bet, if they all tweet in unison, that music sure is sheer magic!
A lovely mosaic of birds that I hardly see!
Wonderful you have such beautiful birds in your yard. I imagine you have to be very patient to get such great photos.
Love, Jan
I love the blues and reds. Nature is the most beautiful artist.
You don't give yourself enough credit, Eileen! Your photography is beautiful! My sister just started a birding blog and I'm encouraging her to participate in Mosaic Monday. I sent her your link as it's so inspiring. Nice work. And thanks for visiting Cottage and Creek and for your nice comment.

Love the colors on those birds. Just awesome! Seeing them at my feeder cheers me up any time.
OMG! SO cuttteeee :)
Beautiful bird shot, Eileen. We see alot of cardinals in Ohio, but rarely see a blue jay. BTW which blog is your main blog? I'm never sure where to visit....
They are so lovely, Eileen, and can certainly add such charm and color to the winter landscape!
Eileen, as I was concern a week ago why no birds come to visit my bird feeder last week I had a ball with all the birds that come and ate. I saw two birds which I don't know the name yet but the woodpecker and cardinals are those that I am familiar. Till now haven't seen blue jays yet I wonder why.
Blue Monday
My cardinal
So many lovely shots of this colorful birds! I especially like that Cardinal with his tail in the air. lol.
Hi Eileen, Gorgeous shots of the songbirds! Just lovely! You and I have similar birds in the yards. I hail from the Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee at about 1,800 ft. elevation in a hardwood forest on a lake. I originally am from Southern California so I am especially captivated by all the wildlife we have here in Tennessee. Your blogs are great! Have a great Tuesday!
You are lucky to see such lovely birds in your yard. thanks for visiting my blog!
Oh my what a beautiful capture you got for cardinal and blue jay. I've seen this two in our backyard but its too cold to go out and beside surely fly away before i get out of the door
Fantastic birds - great shots! We don't have those in Sweden, they look very exotic to me.
Beautiful birds. I think I wouldn't get bored staying in the backyard watching those beautiful birds. Great shots.
Happy Blue Monday.
Eileen these birds are so beautiful! I'm never quick enough to capture them around here. They see me coming with camera and they take off! Thanks for the words of encouragement on my new endeavor!
Your photos are spot on! I hope you had a marvelous Blue Monday. Blessings...Mary
Hi Eileen, I know what you mean about wishing your life away but with those Blue Jays and Cardinals Spring sure is something to look forward to.
Oh how beautiful! I have seen many of those and quite a number of others these past few days. Right now I am listening to a lot of raucous crows!
The trees are full!
Kathy
Outstanding!
wonderful photographs such pretty birds and very common here in upstate ny but I never tire of seeing their colorful faces aroun.
Eileen
Your yard birds are fabulous! I was glad to see (and hear!) Blue Jays at our son's house in Missouri last month. I love our Green Jays of course, but would trade a few for a Blue Jay--it's been years since we've had one in our yard.
Your photos are terrific. I'm trying to figure out how to make a mosaic like yours (I'm technically challenged).
Kay
What beautful birds. You are so lucky, especially the brilliant cardinal. We don't have either of those, but snow geese stop by not too far from where I live in Seattle. They are amazing, great clouds of birds/
I like your concept. Nice framing and grouping. :)
I like both birds and your mosaics, Eileen. Cardeinal are my favorite birds!
