Saturday's Critters #36

Saturday's Critters #36

Happy weekend and welcome to Saturday's Critters!  I hope you love critters as much as I do. I have been animal lover since I was a child.. Ok, it's time to share your critters. I am sharing some of my yardbirds, some swallows down the street from me and my Goldie Girl.

My Poppa Bluebird taking a worm to his babies..

One of my cute American Goldfinches.. The male is so bright and pretty in the summer.

Another shot of Poppa Blue looking so serious.

Swallows on a wire..I believe these are barn swallows that hang out by the horse farm down the road.

Goldie Girl has slowed down a lot, it is kind of sad to see her this way..But, she is still our beautiful Goldie Girl..

Thank you for linking up to the critter party. I appreciate the visits, comments and the support of my blogging friends................... Have a happy weekend!

To see more beautiful birds and cute critters, check out these two memes below.

Please visit:  I'd-Rather-B-Birdin. Thanks to the gracious host: Anni of I'd Rather-B-birdin. Also, sharing with Camera Critters. Thanks to Misty for hosting.

  1. Those are some lovely bird that you captured. Your doggie looks quite content in that shot.

  2. I think maybe Papa Bluebird is wondering how he will ever find enough worms to feed those hungry little mouths.

Mr. Goldfinch looks so serious. Great shots Eileen.

  5. Goldie is gorgeous, look at her eyes, how old is she? and the swallows in a row, do they nest in the same place each year? Take care, Jean.

  8. Hi Eileen
We have a lot of swallows around here too. I just love to watch them swooping above me in the garden. A pair nested in a box on the edge of the garden and they would sit together on top of the box and just watch ME too. So sweet. But up close, they do look "kind of mean"....but we never gave each other any problems-LOL!
Sorry to hear your precious Goldie Girl is slowing down . She looks like such a sweetie.

  17. Lines of birds on wires are fascinating how they act and interact. The little birds begin to look a bit tired towards the end of the season.....in need of an autumnal rest.....Goldie Girl may be feeling the same way!

    Happy weekend,
    Ruby

  32. love the expression on the gold finch.. looks like he is giving you the eye... your goldie girl reminds me of our Baby Girl.. she is 13 and really changing daily...she wakes up to eat and go outside or to move to another place... we think she gets about 22 hours sleep a day

  37. Rather than just visiting, I finally have something to share for your party for a change.
I wish Topaz would slow down like Goldie, he's 11 now and still full of vim and vinegar.
That's a great capture of the bluebird with the worm Eileen.

  38. I love your Bluebirds ... we don't get them here because we live on a lake and they like wide open spaces. We do have barn swallows though ... they build their nests under the boat lift covers. They are great to have around because they keep the buggy populatin down. Goldie looks old and a little tired. They do slow down, but like you said ... they are still a joy. Beautiful pictures, Eileen.

  47. I'm happy to see my goldfinches have returned to my feeder now too. I lost them when we went camping, and I guess they found a good food source elsewhere in the meantime. Love the shot of the swallows on the wire! And how I wish I had bluebirds here in my own yard. Thanks for sharing your feathered friends Eileen ... I'm heading outdoors now to clean the bird bath cuz it's going to be a hot one! Enjoy :) Wendy x

  53. Great bird captures, I never seem to get close enough. The Goldfinch is so adorable, and I would love to have bluebirds nesting in my yard. The swallows are great, they must keep the mosquitoes down. We could use more. Do you have Purple Martins in your area?

  54. Oh dear, I absolutely love your sweet Goldie Girl! She is enjoying life. I always think animals accept the aging process more easily than we humans do. Try not to be sad. She isn't, and every minute with her is precious. (Hope you don't mind my thoughts, gathered when I began to mourn my last dog's life while he was still busy getting his own kind of good out of every day.) Just love your birds as well, Eileen. This is such a rich blog.

  67. And I think, too, that it is a truth in believing that since childhood we can develop the most part of our ability to love, to like, to enjoy, to be sensitive, to care and so on ... all the positive aspects related to humane nature... So emotional reading of words...
