I am linking up with Mosaic Monday and Our World Tuesday
Hello, everyone.. Fall is almost here ( starts tomorrow the 22nd) and I just can not believe how fast the summer went.. We had a cool summer here, not the usual hot & humid days that we are used to.. LOL, I feel cheated..
These are some photos from our weekend walk at our local George's Creek.. it is a creek that leads into our Prettyboy reservoir.. Hubby and I have enjoyed our walks along the creek each time seeing something different..
These are some of the scenes from our walk..the pretty Swallowtail and Fritillary butterflies. Some wildflowers and ferns seen along the creek.
Swallowtail and Fritallary butterflies..
I am not sure what these little orange flowers are called but, it was obvious the Ruby-throated Hummingbird was enjoying their nectar.
A sweet hummer, I will miss them when they head south.. I wish I could go with them. I am not looking forward to this winter..
Some slider turtles sunning themselves on a log, an Eastern Box Turtle, wildflowers, Fritillary Butterfly and a Canada Goose.
I hope you enjoyed these nature scenes and photos. I am glad you came along on our walk..
As always I thank you in advance for stopping by and for the nice comments.
I hope you can join in on our at Mosaic Monday and Our World Tuesday
Thanks to Judith our new host of Mosaic Monday and to the hosting group of Our World Tuesday: Arija, Gattina, Lady Fi, Sylvia, Sandy and Jennifer. I wish everyone a happy week ahead!

love the blooming plants the butterflies are finding. our hummers are starting to move out. our summer was mild compared to lots of years, so i'm not in a rush to see it go. but really would like some rain. :)
Lindos mosaicos.Beleza de fotos! Ótimo outono e beijos, chica
Hi Eileen,
marvelous photos of the late Summer days. Today here it is raining the whole day.
I wish you a nice Sunday.
Best regards, Synnöve
What a beautiful nature. I love butterflies.
What a pretty place - it's teeming with life.
Hi Eileen, Sweet pictures. I enjoy Canada Geese. Your Hummers are wonderful. Have a super good coming week.
Gorgeous captures of colorful flowers and creatures! What a wonderful walk it must have been!
looks like you had an abundance of butterflies this year, we usually do , but i think the really hot.humid summer that was a month longer than usual kept them away.. all the flowers are wonderful.. i saw on the news you are going to have a long cold winter. bummer..
beautiful photos, specially lovely to see the two butterfly species so close together
Eileen, I love butterflies and your photos are awesome. I have not seen a lot of hummers this year. Hope you are enjoying the day. Mildred
pretty shots, pretty place
Oh Eileen, every picture outdoes the previous one! I love the turtles and relieved that the heron can't handle anything that size! The Fritilary Butterfly looks heart-shaped. All the butterflies are so amazing. I ran after one today while Michael watered the garden, but couldn't capture it on film! I love your new header too. Thanks for all your kind and regular visits to my blog (and Ambrose' post !) I should be back on track again this week. Have a great day. Jo

Beautiful scenes from your walk. I'd would have liked to join you. : )
One of my calendars says tomorrow starts fall and another one says it starts Tuesday!
We took a ride today to a family reunion in the rain. We couldn't help but notice the many fall changes . . . I too exclaimed, " how did the fall changes happen so fast!"
Wonderful photos Eileen . . .
A wide array of collectibles from your walk, Eileen reminding us that Winter is still a season away!...:)JP
Very nice photos !!
So many butterflies and hummers to enjoy on your walk here. The orange flowers are a native plant called jewel weed and are also known as touch-me-nots. The last name comes from the seed head which is coiled like a spring and if touched, they shoot the seeds out and away from the plant. I played with a few one fall and it was neat how they worked.
Thank you for linking to Mosaic Monday Eileen.
Wow! The Fritillary Butterfly sure is unusual and pretty! Looks like a nice day to be outside. It's still a bit hot although we got out anyway! lol Enjoy your week! Hugs!
Love seeing those butterflies on the pink flower :)
gorgeous. so summery. ( :
Hi Eileen! I love the Joe Pye weed with the butterflies. We have a lot of that growing on our property, and those orange flowers too, that I also wish I knew what they were. The bees and the hummingbirds really do love them, so I do too! Let me know if you find out what they are, and I will too!
what a bounty of pleasure rushed over me enjoying these mid Atlantic gems!!! [echos of growing up]
that Fritallary at top is a lamp of joy

Love your mosaics, Eileen. My favorite photo is of the two butterflys on the Joe Pye Weed. You always have such great wildlife captures!
Hummers and butterflies, two of my favorites. I haven't seen any Hummingbirds in a couple of days. I suspect they are heading south for the winter.
Beautiful photos! Not seeing many butterflies here now.
Looks like a great spot to go for a walk. I am glad that you had a CANADA Goose!!
It's wonderful seeing so many "weeds" blooming for the butterflies. Many don't realize how important these wild flowers are for our butterflies and pollinators to live!! Lovely!!
Wonderful photos of the flora and fauna near you. The hummingbirds are really busy getting the most of these flowers, aren't they?
Wonderful images. I like butterflies hovering on the flowers.
Hi Eileen,
A lovely blog with beautiful varied collages.
I wish you a good new week.
Hi Eileen,
marvelous photos! So pretty! I like it!
Hugs Riv
Hello Eileen!
A gorgeous flowering post with birds and butterflies!
Can't help you with the name of those lovely orange flowers that or obviously a treat for the humming birds!
Thanks for sharing
Keep well!
Thats a nice butterfly mosaic.
I think that you will miss the hummers when they have gone!
Cheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
Another lovely selection of photos Eileen. I think the flower the hummers like may be jewelweed . I tried to make sure by doing a search but google was not cooperating with me today. Thanks for the visit and a happy Monday to you too :)
I enjoyed the walk and especially the butterflies.
What a pretty, gorgeous area! I'm glad you shared some of the beauty with us.
Nice to see you again,Eileen!
Beautiful photos of your nature! You have captured the butterflies hovering!I like it very much.
I haven't seen any hummingbirds for the past week. Guess they are either gone or in transit. Your pictures are beautiful. We haven't had many butterflies this year. Have a good week.
Great photos, am glad I visited your blog Eileen. I linked up through www.craftygardener.com. The orange flowered plant, jewel-weed, (thanks Judith) also has medicinal properties. The juicy stems can be boiled in water to help take away the itch in poison ivy. I used to keep a container of the stems in my freezer when my children were small, "just in case".
I haven't seen any more hummers lately. I think they've moved on. Your Mosaics are really nice!
How absolutely gorgeous these scenes are Eileen. It is amazing how much bliss they bring.
Hi Eileen.
Yes, doesn't time fly. Summer is already over and I don't know where it went.As always your photo's are the best, love them all. Have a nice week
The little orange flowers are jewel weed. Sometimes they are yellow. The hummingbirds love them. A friend gave me seeds once and I planted them in my yard. A bit of a mistake since they re-seed prolifically and are now growing everywhere. Fortunately, they are easy to pull up so I take out most of them in the spring and leave a couple for the hummers and it works out just fine.
I cannot believe it's fall already either! But it's still looking like late summer in your photos...at least to me. ;))
You mean you live in that idyllic place? Wow! Lucky you.
Wonderful shots!
The Butterflies are my fave, they are superb.
Stunning shots of the butterflies and flowers, Eileen. Your walks always amaze me; they must be such an adventure every time!
Have a wonderful week!
Poppy
Gorgeous capture, Eileen, as always and such beautiful colors!! Thank you for sharing the beauty!! I do love the butterflies, too!! Have a lovely week!!
A beautiful walk Eileen, enjoy your Autumn before Winter sets in, lovely images too.
Great photos and it looks like a beautiful place for a walk. I especially like your photo captures of the butterflies on the flowers.
Jewelweed - often grows near poison ivy. If you get into the poison ivy, you can rub the Jewelweed onto your skin to get rid of it!! Love your beautiful pictures!! What a lovely walk!
Butterflies! Beautiful and all kinds of wonderful photography of nature's beauty! for OWT ~ thanks!
artmusedog and carol (A Creative Harbor)

Another lovely selection of photos, Eileen! Greetings from Romania!
Hi Eileen what a lovely walk and finds you founds. I have now safely arrived back from 6 weeks away so have LOTS of editing to do!! Thanks for looking in on my posts while I was away and commenting. I appreciate that very much. Also thanks for linking me in when I needed that.
Beautiful butterflies.. Nice pictures.. Regards..
I heard the predictions is for a cold and snowy winter, Eileen, so I join in your lament that summer is over! We had a very rainy summer--very odd for Colorado--but there were no fires so that was good. The aspen trees are all in bright color now--very pretty! I will also miss the hummingbirds --I saw so many this year and even a hummingbird moth! That was such an unusual sight to see!
lovely sights on your walk eileen!! for me, the best time of year!!!
Wonderful Fall in your neighborhood. I love following you two on your walks!
love your blooming plants and butterflies, eileen. your collages are beautiful, too. you're surrounded by so much beauty.
