Saturday's Critters #71
Happy weekend, everyone! It's Saturday and it's time to share your critters.. Any kind of critter will do, even a new or old post.. I appreciate everyone who has linked up in the past and for those who are linking in on this week's critter party. And of course I always appreciate my blogging friends stopping by just for a visit.
I am at the end of sharing our visit and photos from the Merritt Island NWR, here are some more birds and a dolphin seen on the bay side at the Canaveral National Seashore..Do not be disappointed though I still have lots more Florida photos to share, lol!
An American Kestrel seen at the Merritt Island NWR.
A male Belted Kingfisher, sorry the branches were hanging down.. It still looks cute!
We walked to the bayside at the Canaveral National Seashore and just in time to see this dolphin swimming close to the shore..
A Willet on the beach at the Canaveral National Seashore..I hope you enjoyed this series of birds and the dolphin.. Now, I am looking forward to seeing your critters.
Thanks to Tex Theresa aka Tex, I was able to add this link up button and thanks to Jennifer for creating my photo badge.

Love the way you 'framed' the kingfisher!!!!
ReplyDeleteHello Eileen,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures as always.
I like the Kingfisher.
Have a nice weekend.
I've always enjoyed Kingfishers. Beautiful (and funny looking at the same time!!) birds indeed.
ReplyDeleteA lovely display of critters today Eileen and I thought your Belted Kingfisher photo was lovely. Thank you for hosting and have a great weekend :)
ReplyDeleteThe Kingfisher, American Kestrel and the Dolphin, my favourite.
ReplyDeleteLindas fotos e passam PAZ! beijos e que o fim de semana seja maravilhoso! chica
ReplyDeleteI don't think those branches spoil that Belted Kingfisher picture Eileen. If anything it helps to show the sorts of places they hide from us photographers. From what I hear it's difficult to get any sort of pictures as the species is so shy, so well done for that shot. I like your American Kestrel portrait too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the critter party and have a lovely birdy weekend.
Good Morning, Eileen. Very pretty photos. Thank you for hosting and I wish you a great Saturday.
ReplyDeleteOh I love the Kingfisher so much! And a wonderful shot of the dolphin We see them sometimes from the boat and I have taken an awful lot of pictures of a piece of the Caloosahatchie where a dolphin used to be ;>)!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for confirming my IDs -- makes me feel great to know. I don't think I'll change the wording in that post, at least not yeat, beause I haven't had my coffee and I'd probably mess it up. And of course thank you for hosting as always.
Really great birdshot. I like them and thanks for showing.
ReplyDeleteHi! YOur photos are very beautiful. I like the first photo very much. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteA very nice collection of birds, and it's always wonderful to see a dolphin! The kingfisher is a very handsome bird.
ReplyDeleteLovely birds and dolphin photos. I would be so excited if I see a dolphin swimming so near to shore.
ReplyDeleteWow! That close to a dolphin! I would love to see a real one myself sometime.
ReplyDeleteAll your pictures are great, don't worry about braches, that's nature :))
Have a beautiful weekend!

ReplyDeletei love the kingfisher, i have never seen one of these birds and this is a really good photo of him... love the diamonds in the water with the dolphins to
ReplyDeleteI really like your kingfisher photo. Looks like it was a great place to see birds!
ReplyDeleteYour American Kestrel looks like she has a full crop. Must be good hunting for her. I love the King Fishers ... all of them. They are so cute and this is a great shot, Eileen, even with the leaves in front. I am not sure I have ever seen a Willet ... I've been in Florida many times but before I really got into bird photography, silly me. Now here I sit in the cold north with no Willets or any other shore birds to be seen. Great post, Eileen ... isn't it good luck to spot a Dolphin in th wild?
ReplyDeleteAndrea @ From The Sol
How great to see a dolphin in its natural habitat.... I've only seen them at the aquarium! Love the Kingfisher peeking through the branches. This is my first visit -- thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteGee whiz, your Belted Kingfisher has the sweetest face ever! I don't get to see such cuteness, except for sure here! I'm already posting here today too, right now!
ReplyDeleteso beautiful I want to be there
ReplyDeleteHi Eileen,
ReplyDeleteLoved the Dolphin and the birds.

Very nice wildlife reserve.. Great shots.. Cheers..
ReplyDeleteGreat shots. The Kingfisher is a handsome little bird.
ReplyDeleteHi Eileen, Wow! So neat your got to see the Dolphin. I have never yet seen a Dolphin here in FL (I used to see many in the Pacific Ocean when I lived in Southern California at the beach). Have a tremendous weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhat a bright-eyed kingfisher! It's always a thrill to see dolphins in the wild.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love the kestrel and kingfisher and the dolphin too! Great shots! Is that a spiderweb strand I see in the kestrel photo? I agree that the branches hanging down in front of the kingfisher makes him look like he's peeping out. Wonderful! Can't wait for more!
ReplyDeleteHe's wearing his belt on his chest!
ReplyDeleteLovely pics, Eileen!
;-)
Such pretty birds. I love the water and blue sky too.
ReplyDeleteHello Eileen,
ReplyDeleteYour bird pics are brilliant and how lovely to see this dolphin fin!
I hope you managed to see it closer!
Great post :)
Keep well and many thanks for your kind comment while I was away :)
That kestrel is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI think the sweet little Kingfisher photo is even more interesting with him peeking behind the "curtains" to see who is pointing a camera at him! And lucky you to see dolphins - love these remarkable creatures!
ReplyDeleteThis American kestrel is a magnificent falcon. I know this only from a zoo. The Kingfisher is beautiful to see and very different than in the Netherlands. Very cool that you saw dolphins swimming and the Sandpiper is nice in the picture.
ReplyDeleteGreetings, Helma
As always, Eileen, thanks for stopping by to add your link to these wonderful birds!!!

Hi Eileen,
ReplyDeleteWonderful composition of all captures in the rippling water.
The Kingfisher is so cute, unless of course he is eating all the fish in your pond, as happened with my sister-in-law.

williet on the beach is too cool. what a long legged birdie. ( :
ReplyDeletehappy weekend!!
Kestrels are a rarity here nowadays...Kingfisher is AWESOME!!!...:)JP
ReplyDeleteGreat capture of the kestrel and kingfisher. The kingfisher reminded me of one summer when a female was having a blast diving in our pond and eating the goldfish, except the one she dropped on the ground. :-)
ReplyDeleteI can't tell you how many times I have watched birds in the yard and been so fascinated that I forget all about my camera.
Thought of you last night when I was watching a comedy about a group of birders competing for the title with the biggest count.
some really striking poses and another wonderful set of birds!!
ReplyDeletemany thanks for hosting!!!
ps, i am so behind, having too much fun!!!!
isn't it just so cool to see the dolphins!!
ReplyDeletethe kestrel & kingfisher are beauties!!
Hi, Eileen-- More nice images from Merritt Island. Thanks for visiting my blog! Just back from three days at a central Illinois (Starved Rock) "resort" with granddaughters, where I had to work from iPhone with poor connection. Rained the whole time except for this morning when we were ready to return home!, but the kids had fun swimming and riding on zip lines.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful birds! The Kingfisher is so cute! :)
ReplyDeleteDearest Eileen; Such pretty birds "kestrel and the kingfisher"are♡♡♡ The branches added more nature atmosphere♪
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for my belated comment, Dearest friend and wishing you will have a wonderful new week.
Sending Lots of Love and Hugs from Japan to my Dear friend in America, xoxo Miyako*
The Kingfisher is such a watchful looking bird. - Margy
ReplyDeleteBelted Kingfishers have been back here for a few weeks now and it's always great to hear them rattle along a river.
ReplyDeleteThat picture of the Kingfisher is awesome! Whenever I go to Garner (State Park), I try to capture a picture of one and never succeed.
