Happy Labor Day Monday!
My post is for all the memes I have listed below. I thank all the hosts for taking their time and holding these fun linky parties.
If you have been following my blog for a while you already know hubby and I enjoy taking our walks in various parks. It is our way of getting outdoors for exercise and I enjoy birding. On this day we visited the Robert E. Lee Park in Baltimore County and the Lake Roland Dam. The park consists of 450 acres has numerous trails, a dog park, pavilions, nature programs, canoeing and kayaking.
Above is the boardwalk from the parking lot to Lake Roland. For my Wild Bird post I am sharing the Great Blue heron, Great Egrets and some Mallard Ducks. We also saw various woodpeckers, a kingfisher and some sparrows. They also have a nice doggie park and playground.
Another wild bird photo, the Great Blue Heron.
The mosaic above includes some scenes from the park, the trail crosses the lightrail train tracks, the trail along side the lake and dam area, goose at the top of the dam, is the Virginia Creeper turning fall colors, Lake Roland Dam.
At the doggie park, the dogs have their own swimming spot in the lake.
The Lake Roland Dam is somewhat surrounded by a mature forest. The stream Roland Run above flows into the Jones Falls and eventually into the Baltimore Harbor. The Lake Roland was at one time the first water supply for the City of Baltimore.
As we hiked on the trail we were noticing the Art on the trail 2015, which celebrates both art and nature and allows some Maryland artist to show off their work. I like the cool Baby Mastodon and the next two are interesting and the bottom row with the trees wrapped with yellow is called the Sacred Grove.
My favorite art piece was this Baby Mastodon.
I hope you enjoyed our walk and my post. I hope to see you linking up and have some fun visiting each other. Thank you, as always for visiting my post. Have a happy new week ahead!

It is a beautiful park! Very nice photos :)
Hi Eileen
Loved that mastadon sculpture--how clever to be able to look at pieces of ?? and "see" a finished piece like that.
Hope you have a fun day
SO good to get out and about isn't it? I love the pond for the dogs, more places need something like that :-)
What a beautiful and interesting park, Eileen! Your nature and bird photos are always lovely and I enjoyed very much seeing the two happy dogs in the lake. And there was some art as well!
You had created an elegant "meme mosaic". Happy Monday to you too!

Hi Eileen! Wow thats a funny looking Mastodon. What a brilliant peace of art! See you again!
I like the Baby Mastadon.
It looks like you and your husband have a plethora of good places to walk and to go birding. How lucky! Have a wonderful week Eileen.
Such a lovely place to wander on your walks. And your photo of the blue heron is just beautiful!! Bur the part I like the best is the swimming hole for the puppies! What fun that would have been to watch! Have a wonderful day!

I love the swimming hole for dogs! Brilliant idea! And I very much approve of the way you and your husband get exercise. lol (My kind of exercise too.)

What a wonderful walk through that park, Eileen. I love the Baby Mastadon. (I had to Google it!) and you have many shadows and reflections in your collages. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy your day. Jo
How clever of you to put the meme pictures in a collage! I'd love to join you on one of those wonderful walks in the park....you evidently know the right places to go!
You find such interesting things to take pictures of...like that mastadon. Love the heron!
Happy Labor day to you too Eileen. What a lovely explosion of photos, and my favorite is that piece of artwork too! Enjoy the day in all that you do.
Enjoyed the photos and the mastodon is so sweet. Happy Day!
What a lovely place to walk! The mastodon is so unexpected! Glad you had a good walk in a beautiful park.
happy labor day! enjoy it! ( ;
A great place to walk. The heron seen through the foliage is a great shot. I like the blurred foliage framing the bird.
It's fun to see a bit of whimsy in a park or garden, like the mastodon and other art features. They keep one looking!
Have a good Labor Day.
Great pics Eileen. Of course I love the dogs playing in the water and the baby Mastodon is excellent. I want one back in our woods. Speaking of woods we have to go investigate ours. We had a huge windstorm last week and we have some trees on the fence back there and must fix.

Great Mosaics Eileen..Love the Mastodon..Looks like the Labs are having a wonderful time..Have a nice Labor Day..
What a gorgeous park! Love that cute mastodon.
In today's climate...were there people at the entrance of the park picketing to have the park re-named?
I love artwork combined with nature, makes for an even more exciting walk. Such a great array of wildlife and love the dog park as we don't really have them in the UK - such a great idea.
Another beautiful place! Love swimming hole for the dogs and Photography is awesome!
Happy Week to you,

You have so many wonderful places to walk Eileen. Not only do they sound good but they are also huge and spacious, especially at 450 acres. I love the artwork too but I admit I had to Google mastadon. Have a great week.
So lovely - each and every shot!

Another beautiful spot for a walk! Lovely images in your mosaics.
Great blue herons are magnificent birds!
Hello Eileen
I like the baby mastodon too but best of all, a swimming hole for the furbabies - something we don't have at any of our dog parks.
Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday.
loved the happy water dogs! the sculpture is interesting!
That baby mastodon is really super nice, though I did not see it was a mastodon at first. You would crack up if you could have seen what went through my mind. Lets just say I did not focus on the piece as a whole...I zeroed in on another part.
You have some great places to go for walks!
Those doggies have a nice swimming hole! I like the green view toward the dam. Looks like fall hasn't started the change there yet.
An absolutely gorgeous place! I love all the pictures. Enjoyed seeing the dogs having fun too!
That is a lot of park to explore and with a dog park as well...you must have fun there every time you visit...so much to see you have not seen before. Love they added art throughout the park too! Have a lovely week.
Wow, that is a really nice series !
First photo after the collage - the leaves make the perfect frame for that photo.
Beautiful photos of what looks to be an enchanting place! Thank you for visiting today and leaving a comment for me.
You live in a beautiful part of the country!!! You've certainly had more rain than we have had in California...all our hills are brown these days....

What an interesting park. I've never seen a dog park with a swim area. I bet that is a big hit with the dogs.
I love the little mastodon too.
Every place you find is prettier than the last!
It's a beautiful time of year to get out on the trails and see what's there. I love that sculpture in the last photo. I had to really look to see what I was seeing! heehee! Hugs!

Hi Eileen,
faboulus photos of this area, the sunshine and the nature. Great !
Have a nice Tuesday, Eileen.
Best regards, Synnöve
That is a fabulous park for observing nature. Great photo of the heron. I like the doggie swimming area - another great idea.
The greenery surrounds everything ... do we really appreciate the important role our trees and bushes play in natures plan? I sometimes think not as people remove beautiful old trees just for their own convenience or idea of a pristine yard ... These are lovely pictures Eileen and I love the Baby Mastodon too ...

Hi Eileen, these are beautiful mosaics! So nice to see the doggie having their swim.
Great photos! Thanks for sharing these!
Nice! Love the baby mastodon! But why is a Maryland park named after Robert E. Lee?
another great outing eileen, you sure do know where to go for the best views and wildlife sightings!!!!
That is beautiful, I love them all, right down to the Mastodon.
Love the composition of the Blue Heron photo Eileen. And I too think that would certainly be a favorite of mine---the mastodon!!!
You are fortunate to have so many beautiful parks nearby! There is certainly lots to see and enjoy from birds to dogs to mastodons! Very cool!
Have a great day!
Those doggies look happy in the water!
Lovely captures of all of your adventures as usual! LOL The ART! At first it looked like a strange insect on the branch to me and not a mastodon at all!
Looks like a beautiful place to walk and enjoy nature. Love the baby mastadon.
What a beautiful place to walk! And lots of wonderful things to photograph. Love the shot of the dogs having fun in the water!
The park is quite interesting. Lovely shots.
Thank you for dropping by my "little home".
God Bless
Hi Eileen, I like parks that feature sculpture or other public art installations. Great to see. The Great Blue Heron pics are nice. Have a super day today! Wildlifewatcher (OpenID Wordpress not playing well with Google Blogger today)
Here is my question. Why do women almost never refer to their husbands by name? They virtually always use a term like "hubby" or "hubbers" for God's sake. I would never think of referring to my wife as "wifey" or "the missus." Whenever I refer to her on my blog I always call her Miriam. That is her name after all. It's a puzzle to me that wives apparently have some mental block when it comes to simply calling their spouse by his name.

What a beautiful place to go for walks! Love the picture of the Blue Heron. And the Art on the trail is wonderful!
Have a wonderful week, Eileen :)
Great place for walking and bird watching and admiring nature. The idea of swimming for dogs I like and my Pepa would certainly benefited from it. Regards.
