Saturday's Critters #90
Happy Labor Day weekend!
Happy Saturday, it's time to share your critters and post. Any kind of critter will do, even a new or old post.. I appreciate everyone who is linking in with this week's critter party. On my previous post I shared just the Little Blue Herons, during our visit there were many more birds to be seen at this park. I am sharing some more of the birds and turtles seen during our visit to the North Point State Park.
One of the many Ospreys we saw during our visit to the park.

One of the many Ospreys we saw during our visit to the park.
There was a family of Ospreys, above I captured three Ospreys on this one dead tree.
One of the many Great Blue Herons also seen at the park.
We also saw 4-5 Tricolored Herons, this one was right above us as we walked down the trail.
It may be hard to see all three Tricolored Herons, but they are all in this on one dead tree near the trail.
I was able to zoom in on the face of this Tri-colored Heron.
Above is the male Common Whitetail Dragonfly.
One of the many slider turtles we saw on this day. I hope you enjoyed our visit to the park and my birds and critters. Thank you for stopping by and for your nice comments. As always I appreciate everyone who is linking up to my Saturday's Critter party. Have a great weekend!

Dearest Eileen; Wow, Tri-colored Herons really fascinated me♡♡♡ Sorry if you introduced us before but first time for me and checked if they are in Asia as well. It seems we can't see(^^;) My husband was really interested in Common Whitetail Dragonfly p:-)

The herons, totally stunning, and what a wonderful zoom.
Wonderful critters! You got some awesome shots of the herons. Enjoy your weekend, Eileen!
This was a lovely park to visit with lots to see Eileen. I love the close up of the Tri coloured Heron. Fantastic image although really they are all very good. Lovely to see the Osprey and Herons up the dead trees. Many thanks for hosting and I hope you have a very happy week ahead .

Osprey....an all time favorite of mine. I love the close up of the tri-color too.
I always like to think you put in a turtle picture just for me--haha. I just adore them.
And I've never heard of a tri colored heron--must keep an eye out
Hope you have a good weekend, Eileen
Beautiful images, my favourite is Tri-colored Heron, unique.
They're amazing creatures and beautifully captured! I like the herons best. I've never seen them in reality yet. But it's nice to see them through your lens.
So many wonderful shots of the birds! I love the close up of the Tri color heron. And the turtle looks like quite a large fella!
Thanks for sharing and for the link up!
Happy Saturday!Christine
How cool to capture the Ospreys, and I like the close-up of the Heron showing the intricate pattern of brown and white feathers on its neck. Great park to visit to see the birds.
Wonderful post Eileen, lovely critters! Thank you for hosting. I will be linking soon.
Tri-color Heron, now that's a new one for me. Thanks!
I would be so excited to see a tri-colored heron!!

That sure is a hoard of herons! wonderful as always - have a super holiday weekend Eileen! YAM xx
Eileen, these are wonderful photos. I especially like the ospreys on the dead tree! Thank you for hosting. Hope you have a great weekend.
The tri-colored heron is very unusual, have not seen one before. Cute little turtle.
Love your shots of the Osprey!! They are a magnificent bird to watch when fishing!! They skim over the top of the water, then effortlessly nab a fish that has come to the top.
Neat tri-color herons!!
They are all lovely photos but I am partial to the tri=colored heron.
Nice heron photos, especially the close ups of the tricolored one!
Hello Eileen, I love the Ospreys and the Tri-colored Herons are spectacular! Love the dragon-fly too. Thanks for hosting. I'm a bit late in linking but here's my post. Have a great weekend. Jo
Hi Eileen. "Many Ospreys", Fantastic - I should be so lucky, more like one a year. And your Tri-coloured Heron shots are just ace. Looks like a fabulous place to bird - but I'd never get home.
Thanks for the link-up today. And have a great and relaxing weekend.
As more of a raptor follower, I love your shots of the Osprey. That is not to say I don't also love the herons, especially the tri-colored Herons since I have never seen one here in the midwest. Nor have I ever seen the white tailed dragonfly ... perhaps they aren't so common in this part of the country. It is amazing what a short distance means in terms of the wildlife populations. Great post, as always, Eileen.

Ospreys are common here, as they are in your part of the eastern US. During my recent trip to the UK it was interesting to view first hand the reintroduction programme at Rutland water. The presence of Ospreys draws in people from all over the country.
the tri-colors are so neat! would love to see ospreys, too.
Awesome photos Eileen . You get a lot of birds there that don't seem to camera shy lol here they are all so skittish and if one gets with in 50 feet of them they take off lol . Thanks for sharing , Have a good weekend !
Hi Eileen
This looks like a wonderful park for bird watching!
Ospreys are so interesting to watch and the
tri-colored heron is one I've never seen before!
Glad to join in this week Happy Labor Day weekend!
Pat
Good morning Eileen, I did really enjoy my trip to the park! What a fine selection to see on this rainy, stormy morning! My favorite is your turtle at the end, it's as if he's talking straight to us!

The tri-colored heron is gorgeous!
How wonderful to see the osprey family! I did see the third tri-colored heron but not till I read what you wrote. I may have noticed it once I went back and gave a good look!
always love herons - not seen a tri-coloured one before - gorgeous indeed
Great photos as always - I love the tri colored heron and the turtle on the log.

Gostei de todas, mas gostei mais da garça tri color.

✿ Bom fim de semana!
-`✿´- Beijinhos.
Your heron shots are majestic, Eileen.
Do you get harassed by insects much? I was playing golf in the State Park yesterday, and the gnats were especially insane.

Your wonderful photos are as close as I have ever come to seeing Tri-colored Herons, Eileen. How wonderful to catch three in one tree. And three ospreys in a tree as well. Wow! All of your heron photos are magnificent. I also loved the dragonfly and the slider turtle. Another fascinating post. Many thanks for hosting. And, a very happy Labor Day weekend to you! Don't you find that weekend is more fun now that we are retired? :)
The tri-colored heron - amazing! Have a fabulous weekend:)
Two three-fers for today. Do we call that a hat trick? Nice herons and ospreys!
Beautiful shots!
Awesome close up of the heron! Great shots, Eileen- have a happy holiday weekend!
Beautiful photos! The herons are so lovely. I wish you a happy weekend!
Great herons, Eileen and the tortoise ;)
Good weekend.
Besos.
Great pictures, I've never seen a slider turtle before.
Merle.
I never heard of a tricolored Heron. Beautiful! Sorry, no critters this week. Enjoy your weekend.
So many beautiful and interesting critters Eileen....especially that tri-colored heron! Have a fantastic holiday weekend!
That turtle almost seems stranded on the log. Are the green plants atop the water a healthy species? I get confused with green algae.
Wow, the tri-colored heron is magnificent!
I posted some scenes of Blackwater NWR.
I love osprey! And your herons and that tortoise are wonderful!
The herons are really beautiful and a favorite to see. My friend that has a house on Marylands shore really loves the ospreys and like you has taken some amazing photos of them -- I've only ever seen them in pictures; maybe someday!!
Hope you're enjoying your weekend!!!
Wonderful post! Love those Herons!
Birds in the natural setting look impressive. And the wow image of the tortoise - 'slow and steady wins the race'- fame!
I love the Ospreys, but your Great Blue Heron shot is awesome! Have a great week, my friend!
Oh Eileen, I LOVE your shot of the Osprey! The rest of your collection are great but that Osprey is AWESOME!...:)JP
Thanks for sharing your link to this post at I'd Rather B Birdin' this week, Eileen. Have a safe holiday weekend.
Aren't they amazing? Well done. So happy to see your birds!
Magnificent herons, Eileen! Happy Labour Day to you (we are celebrating Father's Day on Sunday here in Australia).
...And thanks for hosting!
WoW...WoW...WoW, amazing captures. the tricolored zoom is fabulous!!!!
many thanks for hosting!!!!!
Neat to see the Ospreys. It always cracks me up to see the Herons in a tree although that is where they nest. they are just so longlegged and long necked to be up in a tree. Haha

Your slider picture makes me think of my turtle Butch from when I was a kid. We have two great blue herons hanging around a lot lately at the cabin. They sure make a strange sound. - Margy

Honestly so envious of the wonderful 'critter' and 'bird' opportunities you have around your area. The herons are just wonderful.
Love the shot of the turtle!

Don't know how I missed this post ...
What a great selection here Eileen.
Like the turtle - great picture
