I have a list below of memes I am joining for this week, and to save time I am doing one post for all. They are all fun memes to participate in...I hope you can join in with the fun and check out some of the participating posts. Special thanks to all the wonderful host and their memes, I hope you have some time to check them out.
Above are some of my first views of the park were the birds and critters. The American Robin, Red-breasted Nuthatch, Gray Jay, one of my Washington state lifers the Varied Thrush, the black-tailed deer and a chipmunk.
Our shadows on the trail..The subalpine forest is a transitional zone where trees grow smaller due to the weather.
The sign above list some of the mountain peaks, the highest summit in the park is Mount Olympus at 7980-foot.
Above views from the Hurricane Ridge visitor center and the overlooks.
The hazy international view from the trail is the city of Port Angeles, the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Victoria British Columbia.
Views of some pretty reds on the mountain side and the subalpine firs.
The Red-Breasted Nuthatch one of my favorite birds, it has been a few years since seeing one in my yard. I hope you enjoyed this visit to Hurrican Ridge and the Olympic National Park. I have so many photos from our trip and visit to this park. Thanks for visiting my post and as always I appreciate your comments.

What a beautiful place.
(I need a road trip)
Wonderful views and beautiful animals! I like very much the shadow photo.
The trail looks very inviting. It would be lovely to try it with a mountain bike... but I know both the climbs and the descents would be too steep for me. :)
Have a great week ahead!
Love the tall skinny trees and the awesome views. also love the shadow people. LOL.. deer and chipmunks, oh my how i would like to see them in real life. your header is gorgeous

One of the longest and most spectacular backpacking trips I've been on was in the Olympics, and we walked along Hurricane Ridge. Just simply gorgeous.
Another wonderful vacation area with your hubby Eileen. We have the red, and white breasted nuthatches that visit the feeders, cute little birds.
Amazing photos and great views
Oh yeah, Hurricane Ridge is awesome (as is the entire ONP) Did you see any of the friendly deer?
Marvelous captures of a truly beautiful place and one of my favorite places to go!! Thanks for sharing, as always! Hope you have a great new week! Enjoy!!

Wow, that is a beautiful place !
It's a great place to visit and I enjoyed seeing
Olympic N.P. at a different season to when I've visited, Eileen.
Looks like a lovely place, great air I bet.
Merle...........
Eileen, you always have some wonderful bird photos to share, and the deer are lovely. The shadows are intriguing.
What a fabulous trip Eileen...such sights to remember for a lifetime.
A beautiful place. Couldn't pick a favorite.

How nice to see you in my state, Eileen. Hurricane Ridge is amazing.
You captured some beautiful views and living creatures. Looks like another wonderful vacation for you. Thanks for sharing with us.
That shadow picture is my favorite. Nicely done!
Looks like a lovely place to visit. I have never been to Seattle or the far northwest part of our country. . I've always wanted to go to the Canadian Rockies but that probably won't happen. Thanks for sharing all your travels. I always enjoy your pictures.
Gorgeous photos of my new favorite National Park! We just moved out here to the Olympic Peninsula from WY in July, and love it!! Visited ONP for the first time a couple of weeks ago and hiked to the top of Hurricane Hill - probably nearly bumped into each other! I took a skajilion photos, shame I don't seem to have any desire to blog anymore. Maybe soon... Anyway, glad you had a great trip (and great weather!) Thanks for sharing your lovely photos!
The Olympics are the first real mountains I ever remember seeing, back in the 1980s. Thanks for the memories!
Looks like you had a wonderful trip, Eileen. Great shots!

well, this is a first. Buddy and I can actually say ...we have been there. We really loved seeing your pictures. A gorgeous part of the country.

Wil,
ABCW Team.
looks like a fantastic park to visit! have a beautiful day!
Lovely scenery!
A wonderful series of photos!
Beautiful!!! The birds especially.
It is so nice being able to view your shares from Olympic NP. We drove all the way out 2 years ago, only to have the government Shutdown going on and never got in. It was a five day long ride and then that hit... Your images are lovely Eileen~
Precious images Eileen.
Wonderful captures. Thank you for your visit. Have a good week.
Gorgeous views...love that you included your shadows in the shot.
What a beautiful fall destination!
Such a fantastic landscape!
Beautiful captures as always!!
What is fascinating is the contrast between epic, sweeping views of mountains and trees, and then the zero-in pictures of the little chipmunk and other mini creatures who live there. The nuthatch is my favorite - there's something very similar between the little guy and the branch he's perched next to! Similar textures and color - "Is that you, grandpa?"
What a lovely place!
Thank you so much for sharing these beautiful images, Eileen!
Have a great week ahead!
Kisses!
Ana

Eileen, such beautiful photos of your adventure.
So nice that you and hubby are on the same page so that you can go and enjoy the same things on a vacation.... Perfect nature trip....Michelle
Hi Eileen, Glad you saw this gem of a park. I went there once but I was about ten years old so I don't recall a lot of that trip. I sure do like the picture of the Red-breasted Nuthatch. Have a fantastic Wednesday tomorrow!
WOW! I'd love to visit this park, Eileen! It looks like it has spectacular vistas and natural beauty. We hope to visit both Oregon and Washington states one day. The nuthatch is very sweet!
Hello Eileen!:)So glad you enjoyed your vacation and took these fab photos It's exhilarating to see so many beautiful nature shots.

Beautiful views and trails. Glad you had such a good time.
What a wonderful trip! The scenery is just breathtaking. Aren't you glad you didn't have to drive from Maryland to Washington! Lovely way to enjoy the fall season.
Wow! What a fabulous place to explore. The views are breathtaking! You've captured some gorgeous birds too Eileen.
Hi Eileen, An especially great post, considering you were right in my backyard! :-) Thanks for visiting my part of the world. I enjoyed your post and pictures and most of the comments here ... looks like lots of folks love the Pacific Northwest and have visited, or want to. Hope you got to spend some time in Seattle and, if so, I wonder if you got up to Kerry Park ... that's the place where you can look out over the city skyline. If you got there, you were only a couple of blocks from my place. Take care Eileen!
That's a chipmunk! I've never seen one in real life - only in cartoons. :-)
Amazing sights, the place is so beautiful!
This would be a wonderful place to view God's creation!
Thanks for sharing online, and I hope you'll link up at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2015/10/a-little-bit-squirrelly.html
Hello Eileen, I'm so happy you had a good trip! Next time, you will have to travel just a little farther and come to Vancouver. It would be a lot of fun to go for a walk and see our neck of the woods through your eyes. So many things to love in this post.. your shadows on the trail were delightful and the Varied Thrush is one I haven't seen for a long time. I've never seen the Grey Jay, and for some reason, chipmunks have been few and far between along our usual haunts. I think it has been a few years since we've seen one. Loved the black-tailed deer too. Anyhow, wonderful scenery and very pretty critters, all! Must add that your comment pointing out that there were Pelagic Cormorants alongside the Double-crested Cormorants was especially appreciated. I had completely missed that. We don't see the Pelagic ones very often, although I probably miss more than I realize.
You had beautiful blue skies for photographs on your trip! Wonderful shots of the mountain range. I'll have to keep this park in mind when I head west again. That varied thrush is quite a colourful bird! I keep seeing a nuthatch here in my yard (Ontario), and I'm sure it's the red-breasted variety. Never have my camera out when he's visiting though!
Wendy
