Saturday's Critters #109

Saturday's Critters #109

Happy Saturday, it's time to share your critters and post. Any kind of critter will do, even a new or old post.. I appreciate everyone who is linking in with this week's critter party.

We are enjoying our life right now just being able to pick and go whenever we want. Hubby and I went on a getaway to the Delaware and Maryland shores. I am sharing some recent photos from our trip to Bombay Hook NWR in Delaware.

One of the first birds  we saw above, when entering the wildlife drive was this Bald Eagle.

I like the eye on this Northern Mockingbird and the blue sky is pretty.

Across the pond we saw this fox weaving in and out of the tall grasses. Can you find him?

The Snow Geese flying into the refuge.

Too far away, I tried to zoom in on the Snow Geese.

One of the few Great Blue Herons braving the cold windy day.

I was once told by a friend that also goes birding to stop and check out the fields, you may suddenly see the field moving. This was true the fields right off the road to Bombay Hook NWR, we saw a hundred or so Horned Larks pecking away at the ground. the birds are seen in a line across the middle part of the photo. You have to look closely at the photo, these birds blend in well.

The next images are for Teresa's Friday's Hunt  Thanks to Teresa for hosting this fun linky party. I hope to see you there.

1. Starts with the letter "C"
2. Week's Favorite
3. Inside

1. The letter "C" .  We picked a Cold windy day to visit the wildlife refuge. These Tundra Swans look Cold sitting on the ice.

1. Letter "C" .. not the best photo from Bombay Hook but we saw a lot of Canada Geese at the wildlife refuge.

2. Week's Favorite

2. Week's Favorite....From my earlier post this week, this was my favorite shot of the moon. I hope you enjoyed you visit and my images from the wildlife refuge.

As always thanks for the visits and the nice comments. I also thank everyone who is linking up and sharing their critters.. Happy Saturday, have a great weekend!

Good Morning, Eileen
I'm so very happy you two are having such wonderful times during your retirement. I knew you would. It's a terrific feeling being able to just "GO" when the urge hits.....and likewise being able to be hunkered in when you want as well.
Have a wonderful weekend

Good Morning. I like your new blog layout Eileen. I find it easier to read black on white - just a personal preference. I love that shot of the Snow Geese coming in to land, it's very atmospheric.

As usual your moon shot is spot-on.

Thanks again for hosting and have a wonderful weekend.

Hello Eileen!:) Loved your photo of the Northern Mocking bird, loved seeing them all really, but not too keen on being reminded of a fox, as one ate all our ducklings last night.:(

Wow - what lovely photos. The flying snow geese are fabulous - but the swimming ones -with all the thousands and thousands of snow geese that overwinter here in NW WA I have never ever seen them swimming - what a treat. We always see them in the farm fields. Someday I hope to see them swimming - fabulous shot - eve from a distance.

Love the new meme too - great shots.

Hi Eileen ~~ I'm not a bird lover but I do like your bird finds here, especially the eagle and the heron. We have both those here north in the Texas Gulf Coast. The Saturday hunt looks nice too, I did Friday's .

I didn't realize there were foxes in North America. We have them in Australia too - they're an introduced species.

Fabulous captures...love it when I can see the eye so clearly in a bird photo. Whether mine or someone else's...LOL

Wonderful collection of photos, but I especially liked the northern mockingbird.

your bird shots are always amazing Eileen but that shot of the mockingbird just took my breath away.....I can almost count the feathers! How far are you from your subject generally and what size lens do you use for these wonderful shots? I am having a significant birthday soon and a new lens is on my birthday wishlist!!

I've seen on Facebook a page asking people in our county to keep track of the birds they see this year -- You would have quite a list, Eileen! I would love to see the geese, and Horned Larks would be a real treat too!

I hope you're having a good weekend!

Hello Eileen
Oh your wonderful bird photographs take my breath away.
The Canada geese are amazing - I very rarely see large flocks of birds now, but I remember seeing them when I was young.
A good shot of the fox - survival of the fittest in the wild.
Thank you so much for hosting Eileen and I'm so glad I had some critter photos to share.

WOW!! You saw a lot in one outing!!!
My amazement is the eagle and those swans!!!

Great photos Eileen! So sorry I haven't joined in the past couple of weeks, Hopefully things slow down a little around here this week. Looks like there are a lot of great links to visit too.
Sometimes I find it difficult to balance between adding content to my blog and visiting everyone else's.
I hope you're having a great weekend!

Okay first thing, your capture of the Northern Mockingbird is incredible. I'd really like to see one and snap it's photo too. Lucky you. Then your skies are all lovely, we have far too much grey around here, and what is that first tree, with the very round buds attached. Very curious as to what they are! Enjoy your weekend, (you'll see what my yesterday was like when you view my post) and I hope you have warmer weather, cuz it's really cold here.
