May 4th is our 26th Anniversary, the years have flown by. I am thankful for my hubby and all the happy years! That is my recent news and now for some scenes from around my yard and neighborhood. We found an Bald Eagle's nest at our lake, it is kind of a distant view but I have various photos to share of our walk to the lake and some of our blooming trees and plants.
The Eagle's nest I found at the edge our lake.
Our view across the lake, the eagle's nest is hardly visable, a Goldfinch and a Canada Goose, hubby and the end of the fireroad at the edge of the lake and last is a view of the trail thru the woods.
Our walk on the fireroad ends here, a great view of our reservoir.
One of the Great Blue Heron's nest in our neighborhood.
"Spring is when life is alive in everything." Christina Rosetti
Some blossoms and blooms from our yard. The Redbud tree, Azaleas, Creeping Phlox, unknown blossoming bush and dogwood blooms.
Our little pond, some creeping phlox and we have some white waterlilies that have been coming back every year.
I have traveled past this farm and barn too many times to count during the 27 years we have lived in our house.
For Tom's Barn Collective I have drive by shots of some neighborhood barns.
Thank you for visiting and for the nice comments. As always, thanks to the wonderful group of hosts listed below.

ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary Eileen, to both of you! You chose a beautiful month for your wedding -- and to celebrate each year -- especially for nature lovers such as you two. Beautiful spring flowers -- and how lovely to have both an Eagle nest and a heron rookery right in your neigihborhood.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary Eileen! You must have an amazing yard, wonderful sights. I sure wouldn't mind passing by that farm either. Thanks for joining The Barn Collective and I hope to see you again.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful images, especially the two Herons, classic.
ReplyDeletewow loks like you live in heaven ,all is so pretty dear
ReplyDeleteTwo fabulous nests in such a close proximity to your home. We live a mile from the Patapsco River but I've only seen a blade eagle once in the 10 years we've lived here. At our new apartment, Lake Kittaqumundi (I will have to learn how to spell that) is just a short walk. I know there's a heron rookery at the northern end of that that I look forward to checking out.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary,Eileen! You and your husband live in an area that looks like a slice of heaven! Great shots!

Love the idea of an Eagles nest you can see ... we have one around somewhere, but haven't been able to locate the new one (the old was blown down several years ago in a bad storm). Another wonderful series, Eileen. I never tire of coming to visit you :)

Great snaps, Eileen.
ReplyDeleteI particularly enjoyed the nest and the reservoir!

Peace :)
For all the trips you take to other conservation areas Eileen, I think you have the BEST spot right outside your own door. That's amazing that you have both a bald eagle nest and a GB heron nest within walking distance. Love the photo of the heron. I can see the eagles' nest across the lake in that one shot. It must be great to watch them fishing in the lake! You have lots coming up in the gardens too! I'm still waiting for just ONE flower to bloom here ... maybe by the weekend! Enjoy your week,
ReplyDeleteWendy
We get some type of eagle that flies in front of our apartment building in Kuala Lumpur - even in the middle of the city. I'm always happy to see them.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots from your yard.
ReplyDeleteCongrats with you anniversary - that it may continue many years more! wow, I wish I could say that I lived this long in a house - 15 years was the longest ever:):) Love the heron nest, and your little pond, and of course the collage of flowers you linked for SEASONS! A great Spring tribute:) Have a happy week!
ReplyDeleteYou live in a beautiful area, Eileen! the lake is so pretty and I'm sure attracts a lot of wildlife. Many farms are ranches are being sold here to developers--is it the same there? Having that eagle nest nearby must be such a treat--how many eaglets did they have?

Happy anniversary to you and your husband, Eileen! I'm also very happy for you that it is springtime where you are, it must be lovely to walk among all the bird nests and new flowers by that lovely lake!
ReplyDeleteThese are such great photos Eileen! I love seeing the both of of those nests.
ReplyDeleteWhat a treat to be able to photograph nesting eagles and a heron. We have both here, but it seems that they are nesting on private property. So far the rabbit here leave the tulips alone and we don't have deer here, thankfully. Great photos, especially the barn. Love your water feature, especially the frog. He seems right at home.
