Welcome to Saturday's Critters!
If you love critters like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!
I am sharing some more images from our visit to Bombay Hook Wildlife Refuge in Delaware. I have blogged many times on our various visits to Bombay Hook NWR, it is one of my favorite places to see the birds and view wildlife. I hope you enjoy my photos.
On this day we arrived at the wildlife refuge early in the morning since we spent the night in Dover Delaware. We were able to see 5-6 Clapper Rails with some chicks.
We saw lots of Egrets, some Snowy Egrets, Great Egrets and there may be the juvenile Little Blue Heron too.
The Green Heron posed nicely on the fence for me.
The first Clapper Rail sighting at the beginning of the wildlife drive.
Another adult Clapper Rail with a cute chick. Their chicks are black in color.
There are two Clapper Rail chicks above, it is great to be there during the low tide to see these secretive birds come out of the grasses looking for food.
The Great Egret above with it's yellow bill and black legs. It is one of the taller egrets.
Not the clearest shot, but I think this Fox was cute that came out and sat on the wildlife drive as we went past.
I appreciate and thank everyone who links up their post and for all the wonderful comments! I hope you enjoy my post and photos too!
Here is a list of my linky parties;
Also visit: I'd-Rather-B-Birdin. Thanks to the gracious host: Anni.
Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!

Oh my- so many wonderful critters. I've never gotten a photo of a bittern, let alone a baby - and the fox is so neat. We had the Egrets in California - one was spotted at the Wylie Slough here in Washington but it was spotted just after we left - darn. But we had a good birding day. Happy weekend.
So cool that you got to see a fox!
So beautiful photos.
Have a nice weekend.
Wonderul to see the Clapper Rail and also the chicks. Thanks for hosting Eileen and have a wonderful week ahead.

Hi Eileen, I think the curious cute fox came out to watch the humans passing by with their cameras! Have a beautiful weekend!
Interesting critters again Eileen, but I love last photo, clear or not clear, the fox is a beauty and......difficult to catch on a photo.
Regards, Janneke
That is a bird I have never seen, A Clapper rail, they don't seem to mind the mud.
Have a good weekend Eileen, take care, Gordon.
...we use to have a fox around here, good rabbit control.

How exciting to see the Clapper Rail chicks! Great photos of them and of the Green Heron !
The fox was a super bonus sighting!
Thanks for hosting and have a great weekend!
Another fox shot. Seem to be a few around at the moment?
it always amazes me to see the same birds so far up north as what we see here and that little fox is adorable... looks like he was posing for you
I am always happy to see Egrets, and shore birds as they are only seen when we go on vacation. Now that fox is another story...we have them and they are so evasive. You, however, had a great opportunity!...:)JP
You have amazing trips!
Hello Eileen!:) Great sightings as usual. I have never heard of the Clapper Rail, ...the black chicks are cute. Love your Green Heron capture, and the fox image. The foxes around here, eat chicks, and chickens, those little Clapper Rail chicks had better watch out! Thank you for hosting Eileen, and have a great Weekend,
Cute little fox . . .
He looks like you could have picked him up and taken him home.
One more adventure of yours with wonderful sightings.
As always, lovely bird photos, Eileen, but my fave is the little fox.
Thanks for hosting and have a lovely week.
clear markings on the green heron. Great clapper shots, and the FOX!!!
Eileen ~ always beautiful bird photography ~ favorite, though, is the little fox ~ thanks, ^_^

I'd go nuts if I saw all those herons and egrets in one place. Nice that you got the fox too, much cuter than the coyotes I see.
great sightings on this trip...the fox picked a beautiful spot to pose for a picture!!!
have a nice weekend eileen, many thanks for hosting!!!
Maybe next year we will make a trip to Bombay Hook. It seems to be filled with plenty of wildlife. I just had a great visit to Pea Island NWR in the Outer Banks... what a great place also! I love to see the baby black Clapper Rails... very cute and fluffy still! And a Red Fox--wow!! Thanks for sharing! Hugs!
Hi Eileen, I have no post for Saturday's Critters today. I always enjoy your images. My pictures are still in my crashed computer and I have to get them out ---I will. I haven't taken any animal pics in the past few days been busy at home in the garden. I shall be back though.

nice collection of critters
The fox is so cool. I've only seen one fox in FL...on the fairway, and I didn't have a camera with me. Of course it ran by pretty fast anyway...guess he had experience with golf balls plunking down around him
That is a neat place! You were lucky to see so many Clapper Rails. The few times I have seen them they were singles, and no chicks!
You did well to see all those very secretive Clapper Rails Eileen.I guess getting there early makes a huge difference as a series of folk walking by wont be to their liking.
Thanks so much for your link-up today.
The fox is adorable!
I found some critters that I photographed just in the last few days YAY!

It looks like a great place.
Brilliant birds, and there was a Fox, lovely.
Lots of sweet shots. And, isn't it great when they cooperate and sit still for you. :)
Sweet little fox! They are difficult to get a view of, never mind getting a clear photo. Lots of great photos!
Andrea
Hello Eileen, the Green Heron certainly did pose nicely for you, that's a lovely photograph. So too is the fox - so cute.
I hope you have a lovely weekend.
All the best Jan
Of course the fox is the cutest one!
Thank you for hosting.
The chicks are so cute, Eileen! And that is a healthy looking fox - beautiful!
Hello Eileen, the Clapper Rail chicks are so unusual. Thanks for sharing and hosting this meme. Have a great Saturday. Jo
Hi Eileen,

Very nice ! I love the green heron !
That fox is so cute but does he have a twinkle in his eye like he's up to somethng? lol Have a wonderful weekend.
Oh, Eileen...what an abundance of wildlife you see...those babies are so, so cute.
Favorite this time is the White Egret.
Great shots as always..even the cute Fox..he looks healthy!!! I don't know that I ever saw a green Heron..
Love that fox and the green heron!
Great pictures. I wonder if you'd be as lucky if that last picture came first. (hee-hee)
Eileen, nice fox. Thanks for sharing.
The fox is cute indeed! Looks like a great place to see birds.
I saw a rail this morning - called Buff Breasted - but no pictures, it was always more than half hidden in the grass.
Cheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
Hello Eileen,
Here it is very rare to crake chicks, I only got the chance once!
And how lucky to see this fox come and sit on the road!
This area seems a paradise!
Lovely post, warm hugs and enjoy the coming week :))))
All the lovely critters, especially that little Fox. It is as cute as my poodle.
Hello Eileen!
These white egrets especially are gorgeous and the little fox is so adorable sitting on the wildlife drive...:) :) such great experience, to observe all of these in their natural habitat. In my walk, I just had the chance to see some doves, one black crow from distance near the pond and to hear the song of blackbirds and to record it in my little video. I always think that it is lovely to visit your amazing posts, because I can see much more and more interesting critters and, also, aspects from the stunning nature. So many thanks for this chance!
A very wonderful Sunday and new week ahead! Alexa
Nice to look at all the birds, especially the young ones. Lisek looks grateful. I greet and wish you a nice new week.
What a cute fox! Lovely photo of the heron too
Great shot of the sweet fox, Eileen. The blue flowers are a striking back drop for his photo! And, that is a tall Egret you caught. I see them in our creek, but not close up. Your first photo of them looks similar to the banks of the creek near our house. Hope you have a very nice week!
Nice shots Eileen :) The green heron is gorgeous and those little black chicks are so cute! This fox looks a lot healthier than the one you showed a while ago. Enjoy your Sunday!
Fantastic area, many birds and wildlife.. Have a great week Eileen..
Beautiful pictures!! today I saw a egret while I went walking in the morning...
BEAUTIFUL photos, Eileen. I especially love the Green Heron and the fox who posed for you!!! Kisses, my friend.
That fox is pretty adorable!
I love "your" critters! I've never heard of a Clapper Rail before - What a cutie they are!
Great photos. I love egrets and herons. The fox is cute too.
Loved seeing the rail babies -- did not know they were black! Loved the fox and all the birds as always -- the green heron picture is perfect -- frameable!
