Leister Park

Hello and happy Thursday!

On this day hubby and I enjoyed our walk on a paved trail at the Leister Park in Hampstead Maryland.

Along the path were wildflowers, some people would call them weeds. I was enjoying the Goldfinches eating the seeds off some dead flowers.

Call you find the two Goldfinches mixed in with the Chicory and Queen Anne's Lace?

A female Eastern Bluebird was chasing bugs on the trail.

A Chipping Sparrow with a mouthful of some kind of bug.

This Queen Anne's Lace reminds me of a snowflake.

The sky and Queen Anne's Lace.

More sky and the paved trail. After a rain this paved trail is nice for walking, there is no mud!

On the way home a barn scene for Tom's Barn Collective.

Just a drive away from home I can usually find some kind of barn.

The Waxing Gibbous moon on August 5th. Full moon was seen on Aug 8th.

My thankful list for today:
I am thankful for the pretty sky days.
I am thankful to take a walk after a rain storm.
I am thankful for your visits and your comments.

"Find beauty in the small things."

Thank you Michelle for hosting. Thankful Thursday
Thank you to the hosts of   Skywatch Friday
Thank you Tom for hosting The Barn Collective

Thanks so much for visiting and for your nice comments. Have a happy day!

Great work, Eileen, simply enjoying all of nature. Wildflowers are wonderful and the role they play for birds and pollinator insects is inestimable. I hope that none of these vicious hurricanes make it up the coast to Maryland. Stay safe.

I enjoyed our walk today! Since I won't be taking one myself... Love to see the Goldfinches in the fading flowers and plants. Next time I go out, I shall look for them. Trying to find warblers this past weekend was not fruitful at all, tho people all around the area DID! Sad face... Maybe tomorrow! Thanks for sharing! Hugs!

It's always fun to watch birds eating seeds or bugs. I always enjoy watching the goldfinches. Cute blue bird on the path. I have a pair at the back of our property but they don't come close to the house. Thankful Thursday gives us time to reflect.

Oh those blue skies... something of a forgotten phenomena round here of late... Thinking of all my pals over in the West - even if not close to the storms. YAM xx

Happy Thursday, Eileen! You got a fabulous picture of the Queen Anne's Lace in the field. I see it from time to time around here, and think it's a very pretty delicate wildflower. Now we know how these wildflowers get propagated! The sweet little Goldfinches spread the beauty around while they eat. Have a wonderful weekend!

Good morning Eileen, beautiful captures and what a lovely place to wander about. Queen Anne Lace has always been a favorite of mine, but now we too have that very serious weed here that is much like the Queen Anne Lace, but it's one to avoid at all cost!

Those Goldfinches are pretty little fellows, aren't they? What a sweet picture this is, Eileen. Yes, the Queen Anne's Lace does look like a snowflake! What a nice walk with your husband. So many interesting things we can see in nature, if only we are still and notice.
