Thankful Thursday

Happy Thursday,  I wish everyone a happy day!

I am sharing some photos from our visit to the Blackwater National Refuge in Cambridge Maryland. We stopped at the refuge on the way home from our visit to the beaches.

The Snow Geese were seen in a field just outside the wildlife refuge.

Blackwater NWR, Great Blue Heron

This shot is not clear but I like seeing the wings of the Mallards and on the far right is a Northern Pintail.

Just a pretty view of the Blackwater Wildlife Refuge

A Bald Eagle seen off the wildlife drive.

The Bald Eagles are plentiful at the wildlife refuge.

Some ducks and Tundra Swans.

    So true, Eileen.
There's a Star Trek episode :) where we learn that a power species sent 100 of their youngest and most defenseless out into space because you can tell so much about others by how they treat the most vunerable.

  18. I haven't seen that kind of concentration of Snow Geese in quite a while. Always a great spectacle. And a little careful searching often turns up a few Ross's Geese in with them.

I think of the bald eagles in particular because they have been successfully rescued from the brink of extinction. Their resurgence is one of North America's great successes.
    Thanks for the photos!
