Hello and happy Monday!
These are some images from 7/13 and 7/18, our walks on the local bike trail known as the Northern Central Railroad Trail. On this day we saw some wildflowers and lots of birds. Two Great Blue Herons, Blue-Gray Gnatcatchers and a Catbird seen from the trail. Lots of bird sounds like the Scarlet Tanager, Woodpeckers, Common Yellowthroat Warbler was heard fussing in a few different spots.
This was the first bird we saw, the Great Blue Heron seen standing in a tree.
Gnome land, a private house next to the NCR trail.
A Great Blue Heron on the hunt.
I am pretty sure this was a Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher, it was catching bugs on the ground and flying back to the trees.
Some more wildflowers
Eastern Phoebe or Eastern PeWee?
The NCR bike trail.
Bee Balm growing along the trail.
I enjoyed seeing a lot of these Hosta blooms along the trail and near the river.
Thanks for your visit today! I hope you enjoyed my post and photos.

Gorgeous photos!
ReplyDeleteLove the gnome home. I have an old friend who used to pray as a child, "Dear God, please, please make me a gnome!" ;) I haven't seen her in a while, maybe she lives in that gnome home!
Belas fotografias de que gostei bastante.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e boa semana.

ReplyDeleteBiking is healthy and pleasant. Nice to have a long bike trail in the vicinity.
ReplyDeleteThe Bee Balm is very common in Finland too.
Have a nice new week!
I love waterfalls and you have captured many birds and interesting things such as the Gnome's land on your hike.
ReplyDeletethe wild yellow flowers might be my Susans first cousins. love the heron peering over the limb... and of course that creek
ReplyDeleteI enjoy reading your blog almost daily...but seldom comment because so many others have already done so! Glad that there are not quite as many today! But I am also glad that you attract so many followers. Your posts are most enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a beautiful place to take a bike ride.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pleasant place for a walk, or bike ride. I could spend hours there.
ReplyDeleteI love been balm I have it in my flower beds and sometimes I get bloom and sometimes I don't! But when I do I love the aroma...I'm leaning more toward peewee with the orange on the lower beak. Or it looks orange in the photo, and what a cool Gnome collection!! Happy August this week!
ReplyDeleteThe gnome garden is so cute! I would be so happy to see something like that on a hike! Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteThose gnomes sure look out of place next to such a lovely sylvan setting. Latter day gauche might well describe that stylistic choice!
ReplyDeleteSuper photos of birds and wildlife. Smiled at the Gnomeland. Happy day to you Eileen.
ReplyDeleteHi Eileen
ReplyDeleteHerons are such magnificent birds! There were such pretty flowers along that trail. I wish that Gnatcatcher would visit me as my grass is full of annoying gnats after some heavy rainfall we had recently!
Can you believe it is almost August? Summer is flying by!
So beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteLoved the post and pics.
Lovely mix of photographs Eileen … so nice to see, thank you.
ReplyDeleteI just love Gnome land … pleased you included that one too!
Have a lovely week.
All the best Jan

Great shot of the gnat catcher with his eye on you.
ReplyDeleteLovely wide bike trail, and the herons, as always they are magnificent. A Gnome home, hope they do not get flooded out.
