Hello and happy Monday!
These are some images from 7/13 and 7/18, our walks on the local bike trail known as the Northern Central Railroad Trail. On this day we saw some wildflowers and lots of birds. Two Great Blue Herons, Blue-Gray Gnatcatchers and a Catbird seen from the trail. Lots of bird sounds like the Scarlet Tanager, Woodpeckers, Common Yellowthroat Warbler was heard fussing in a few different spots.
This was the first bird we saw, the Great Blue Heron seen standing in a tree.
Gnome land, a private house next to the NCR trail.
A Great Blue Heron on the hunt.
I am pretty sure this was a Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher, it was catching bugs on the ground and flying back to the trees.
Some more wildflowers
Eastern Phoebe or Eastern PeWee?
The NCR bike trail.
Bee Balm growing along the trail.
I enjoyed seeing a lot of these Hosta blooms along the trail and near the river.
Thanks for your visit today! I hope you enjoyed my post and photos.

Gorgeous photos!
Love the gnome home. I have an old friend who used to pray as a child, "Dear God, please, please make me a gnome!" ;) I haven't seen her in a while, maybe she lives in that gnome home!
Belas fotografias de que gostei bastante.
Um abraço e boa semana.

Hello Eileen,
Wonderful photo of the Great Blue Heron! It's amazing bird.
I love also your wildflowers. Hosta have very beautiful flowers.
Happy Monday, and have a great week ahead,
Tuas fotos são dignas de um calendário...Maravilha! Ótima semana! beijos, chica e linda semana!
...wonderful gifts of mature!
Biking is healthy and pleasant. Nice to have a long bike trail in the vicinity.
The Bee Balm is very common in Finland too.
Have a nice new week!
I love waterfalls and you have captured many birds and interesting things such as the Gnome's land on your hike.
the wild yellow flowers might be my Susans first cousins. love the heron peering over the limb... and of course that creek
I enjoy reading your blog almost daily...but seldom comment because so many others have already done so! Glad that there are not quite as many today! But I am also glad that you attract so many followers. Your posts are most enjoyable.
Looks like a beautiful place to take a bike ride.
What a pleasant place for a walk, or bike ride. I could spend hours there.
I love been balm I have it in my flower beds and sometimes I get bloom and sometimes I don't! But when I do I love the aroma...I'm leaning more toward peewee with the orange on the lower beak. Or it looks orange in the photo, and what a cool Gnome collection!! Happy August this week!
The gnome garden is so cute! I would be so happy to see something like that on a hike! Enjoy your day!
Those gnomes sure look out of place next to such a lovely sylvan setting. Latter day gauche might well describe that stylistic choice!
Super photos of birds and wildlife. Smiled at the Gnomeland. Happy day to you Eileen.
Hi Eileen
Herons are such magnificent birds! There were such pretty flowers along that trail. I wish that Gnatcatcher would visit me as my grass is full of annoying gnats after some heavy rainfall we had recently!
Can you believe it is almost August? Summer is flying by!
So beautiful place.
Loved the post and pics.
Lovely mix of photographs Eileen … so nice to see, thank you.
I just love Gnome land … pleased you included that one too!
Have a lovely week.
All the best Jan
Thank you Dear
awww
enjoyed the distinctive breath/array of shots
Great shot of the gnat catcher with his eye on you.
Lovely wide bike trail, and the herons, as always they are magnificent. A Gnome home, hope they do not get flooded out.
The blue heron is growing on me, day by day.

I like gnome land!
I loved this walk!!! Beautiful trail, wonderful birds ... thanks for taking us along. I always hear so many more birds than I ever see -- and I never get as many pictures as you do!!
Really nice mix of photos with the fun gnome house and the bird photos.
LOVE the heron in the first image (I don't get to see many G B high in trees. And, yes...that is a gray/blue gnatcatcher. Awesome.
What a pleasure, lovely catches Eileen.
As usual I love the heron pics, Eileen!
A nice trail to walk along. Enjoyed seeing what you saw along the way.
I can almost hear the water. I think the bee balm is pretty. We have some of that up at HT.
That is such a beautiful looking place and the birds are really great. Thanks for sharing.
The herons are my favourite.
Love the coloring, markings of the Eastern Phoebe .. .
My Bee Balm if showing itself around here too.
Love the bright red bursts!
awesome sightings!! the 4th picture of the heron is magical!! the trail is pretty, the flowers and the small waterfall!!!
Wonderful photos!
The blooms and heron are fabulous!
What a great place to explore - like the half hidden heron. As somebody who has only just learnt to ride a bike (its a long story!) I would love to ride on paths that wide!

Beautiful and nature trail to enjoy birds and flowers. I could feel how wonderful it should be sounding with birds chirping and wild blooming. Nice shots Eileen
That is a well known trail that I have never done..I didn't realize there was water along it..I should look in to it for future reference..Lovely pictures..Enjoy the rest of your week..

A lovely place for a walk Eileen. But rather spoiled by those kitsch gnomes I think
As you might expect, we get really jazzed by beautiful bicycle trails! I especially love the heron shot -- that's a wonderful pose/position and beautiful setting.
