Welcome to Saturday's Critters!
If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!
July 10th we hiked the trail at Calvert Cliffs State Park located on Maryland Western shore. Along the trail were lots of birds, dragonflies, turtles. We were warned about snakes and beavers but did not see any.
The Red-winged Blackbird were plentiful. Coming soon, on my other post I shared the Kingfisher and Red-headed Woodpecker we saw at this trail.
I appreciate and thank everyone who links up their post and for all the wonderful comments!
Here is a list of my linky parties;
Also visit: I'd-Rather-B-Birdin. Thanks to the gracious host: Anni.
Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!
Oh, excellent shots! I do love that frog.
ReplyDeleteThose red-winged blackbirds are so plentiful around here and so easy to identify that sometimes it seems like the only bird I see. You know, I haven't seen a single dragonfly this summer so I'm happy to see your great photos, they're such a part of summer. That last one looks like a hellish creature, doesn't it, especially from the side.
ReplyDeleteI like your sightings, glad you didn’t see any snake.
ReplyDeleteLove all the dragonflies on the branches, and all the turtles on the log! really neat photos. Especially loved the red winged blackbird shots. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe Blackbird in side view, a winner, showing the red feathers too.
ReplyDeleteHello Eileen, can you please delete my link for number 10 because I accidentally insert your post url link when I link to Saturday's Critters. So sorry for the inconvenience. I tried to delete it myself but there is no delete button. The number 11 is the correct link. Thank you and have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteThere seem to be so many Dragonflyes there. I love all the Turtles in a line, Thanks for hosting anad have a wonderful weekend Eileen.
ReplyDeleteHello Eileen,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! The Dragonfly is so difficult to get a good photo of. I have plenty of them here because of my pond.
Happy Weekend!
Looks like a nice place to visit. Those dragonflies are running out of perches! Yes those beavers can be aggressive. Just saw one attacking people in a kayak in yesterday's news.
ReplyDeletethat frog is so beautiful, I would love to see him like that. I have never seen frogs in the wild, only at our barrel... I have seen turtles like this and many dragon flies. your photos are fantastic.. the dead limbs decorated by dragon flies is my favorite other than the FROG
ReplyDeleteLindas tuas fotos! Desejo que tenhas um ótimo fim de semana! beijos, chica
ReplyDeleteToo bad you didn’t get to see a couple of snakes to round out the list.
ReplyDeleteOh, wow! I always love seeing your photographs. I think my favorites today are of the dragonflies! Thank you for hosting this wonderful party! -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures
ReplyDeleteI love it! Those turtles!!! The first one looks like a skink!
ReplyDeleteSo many beautiful life forms! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteWonderful selection of critters and lovely photos, as usual, Eileen. I like the dragonflies a lot, I have little luck in taking photos of them here. They are very jumpy in Australia and rarely sit still!
ReplyDeleteCool photo of the dragonflies on the branches! Beautiful blackbird!
ReplyDeleteI love to hear the song of the Red winged blackbird. Love your photos! Enjoy your weekend!

That's a great spot for turtles to sun themselves.
ReplyDeleteOf course, who doesn't love all critters (who would visit you)
ReplyDeleteIn our parts, baby lizards are EVERYWHERE. Fun watching them dart around. Amazing how fast (and tiny) they are.
Oh my goodness that row of turtles is fantastic. Happy Day.
ReplyDeleteI love your natural observations, Eileen !!
ReplyDeleteI admire your pictures and the beauty of your critters!!

Have a wonderful weekend!
Hi Eileen-
ReplyDeleteThe line-up of the turtles and the Red Winged Blackbird are my favorites from this week's post, although as usual they are all great pictures.
Thanks for hosting.
Happy WE to you!
Peace :)
Good morning Eileen, that frog is adorable and mama turtle got all her kiddos in a row but they're moving out fast! What a gorgeous day to have been out and about. Happy you didn't meet any snakes! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
ReplyDeletegreat nature shots! Love the frog and turtles!
ReplyDeleteHappy Day to you,

aka (A Creative Harbor)
Excellent photos Eileen. The first one is my favourite, beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI'm always thrilled when I see turtles in the wild! Love your multi dragonfly pic too, Eileen!
ReplyDeleteYou showed my favourite North American bird Eileen - the Red-winged Blackbird. yes, I know it may be a controversial choice but I really rate them. I was left wondering why you were warned about beavers? Is it that that might drop trees on you?sorry to be dense but we don't have beavers here.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, thanks for the link today. Enjoy your Sunday.
Great shots, Eileen!
ReplyDeleteThat is a ginormous frog.
The bird at the end looks so regal!
Red-winged blackbirds have literally invaded us this year Eileen. It was unbelievable to watch them. It must have been an entire flock migrating through...:)JP
ReplyDeleteI believe you enjoyed your hike. That row of turtles is pretty funny!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice Sunday!
Wow, that is nice. I love the blackbird !!
ReplyDeleteHappy Saturday! You have a nice array of critters in your post...all great players doing their parts in the ecosystem, as it should be!
ReplyDeleteReally like the turtles on the log.
ReplyDeleteI've been to Calvert Cliffs a few times. Used to be a great place to find shark teeth.
Liked all of your critters . . .
ReplyDeleteTurtles sun bathing is a great pic . .
Bunches of Dragon Flies has my heart though . . .
Amazing!
That turtle shot is wonderful in so many ways - the composition, the number of turtles - why am I trying to explain it? I just love it! When we got back from vacation, all of the red-winged blackbirds had disappeared (they were mobbing our feeders before we left). I can only assume they have started their migration! Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
ReplyDeleteI do indeed believe that you love all of God's critters. Great photos, have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love the frog and turtles!
ReplyDeleteThey warned you about beavers? I'd like to see a beaver. Do they get aggressive?
ReplyDeleteHi Eileen, U didn't have a critter post this week due to all sorts of issues. I should be back into photographing cows and calves this coming week ! Thanks for your regular comments to my blog even when I don't get back to yours. Have a great day. Jo
ReplyDeleteExcellent capture on the critters and you went for lovely focus on the lizard and dragonflies. The turtles made a nice line on the bark.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday Eileen
Eileen, enjoyed the dragonflies. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI just love Dragon Flies..you got some good shots..Every now and then..we see Red winged blackbirds here.. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday Eileen..
ReplyDeleteLove the Dragonflies poised on the branches.
ReplyDeleteMB
Every critter today is so very special! Lovin' this post today Eileen.
ReplyDeleteAs I was looking at your pictures the thought came to me that you truly do love all creatures "great and small," and it shows in your posts and photos.
ReplyDeleteThe dragonfly pictures are so good! I love them.... What is that first critter? Some kind of lizard I guess. Couldn’t help wondering Why they need to warn hikers about beavers. Snakes I get , but do beavers ever actually get up on the paths? And even if they do, would they actually attack?
ReplyDeleteThe dragonflies are so interesting, Eileen. For some reason all the kids I knew growing up in Brooklyn called them "dining needles" :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you are glad not to have been in Florida this summer with that horrible and sad red tide going on. I feel so sad to see the news and all the dead sea life. I wonder if it affects the birds that eat the fish too?
Beautiful images, Eileen. I hope to join you soon on one of these!
ReplyDeleteWonderful! I love these photos, thanks Eileen :)
ReplyDeleteHi Eileen,
ReplyDeleteI have to be weeks again next week and then I am already away in the morning before 6 o'clock and only at 4 o'clock in the morning. I do not know the difference in time with you and here in the Netherlands, otherwise I will put the link with you after 4 pm.
Growth
A great collection of critters here Eileen, I especially like the turtles on the log.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Fabulous - love especially that log full of turtles - funny thing is, I've not seen a turtle in the wild since I was five and we lived in California. Happy week to you!
ReplyDeleteI love the dragon fly capture.
