Thankful Thursday!

Hello and happy Thursday!

Hubby and I enjoy our fire road walks checking out all the different mushrooms along the way.  I am not sure of all the mushroom id's, I just enjoy seeing their colors and shapes. I also included a view of our lake, it was a little cloudy that day. We were dog sitting for my son's dogs. It is nice having the grand-dogs for a visit and they love to go on walks with us.

"All good things are wild and free." A cloudy day at the lake.

We are lucky to have these fire roads just a walk away from our house, it is like we have a park and the lake at our doorstep.

"If you truly love nature, you will find beauty everywhere."

I am guessing this is a Eastern Wood Pewee, I heard the song before I saw the bird. I like the bokeh showing up in the tree canopy.

I am thankful for all my nature sightings. All nature is grand.

am thankful for all your visits and comments.

  1. Mushrooms are not easy to identify, but I have a friend who taught mycology at a local university, and he helps me to pick edible ones. Some of them are truly delicious. If ever you get a chance to try wild honey mushrooms you will have a real treat.

  5. I agree 100 percent that all good things are free... I am thankful for the fact I know this and can see it with my eyes.

  6. I am always a little suspicious about statements like “All nature is grand.” If a python wraps itself around your two year old and swallows her, is that grand? There is an organism in Africa that gets into the bodies of little children and works its way up to their eyes and causes blindness. Is that grand? I could go on, but you get the point. Is all nature grand?

  17. I have learned a lot through my fellow bloggers, including you. To appreciate the little things as much as the grand vistas, and to appreciate the dried up flowers as just another phase from the full lush freshness for example.

    Have a great week!!
