Hello and happy Monday!
From Nov 11th, I am sharing a walk hubby and I took on one of the local fire roads. This is just a short drive to another part of our lake. The fire road heads to the lake and has a view of a Bald Eagle Nest. Hubby and I wanted to see if the Bald Eagle couple was active and if they are visiting their nest from last year. We did not see the Eagles but I did get to see a large flock of Buffleheads on the lake. We had a nice walk with temps in the 40's. A little colder than I like for my walks, but the wimp that I am... I managed.
I tried to zoom in on this flock of Buffleheads, they are too far away and fuzzy.
The tree with the red leaves in the middle of the photo is where the Bald eagle's nest is, way across the lake.
I zoomed in to see a closer look at the Bald Eagle nest, we did not see any Eagles.
Pretty sunlight on the lake.
We saw a lot of berries along the trail. They are pretty pops of red color.
There were plenty of red berries growing on vines climbing up the tall trees. I hope the birds enjoy these berries.
Thanks for your visit today! I hope you enjoyed my post and photos.
Thanks to Angie the new host of Mosaic Monday
Thanks to Yogi and the hosting team of Our World Tuesday!
I hope to see you there. Thanks to the hosts today. Enjoy your day and new week.

With eagles around those Buffleheads had better keep their eye on the sky.
ReplyDeleteLovely post and collage made from brilliant photos of you shot through the walk! Great zoom on the red tree with the eagle’s empty nest… yummy berries and look surely a treat to birds
ReplyDelete...how great to be surrounded by nature's beauty.
ReplyDeleteYou have a talent for spying the beauty all around, Eileen. It is mesmerizing to gaze at the sunlight dancing on the lake. Thanks for sharing your pics.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful country, Eileen. I woke up to a world of white today. I rather liked it better in November when it looked a little more like what you are sharing today~!
ReplyDeleteEverywhere you look...beautiful. I know my favorite is the sunlight on the lake!
ReplyDeleteYou shared beautiful photos from your walk.
ReplyDeleteThose Bufflehead are beautiful, and the Bald Eagle is superb.
ReplyDeleteNice of those Eagles to nest in the red tree.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I need to look for RED TREES!
Might take a drive looking today.
Blizzard here last night.
Our birds are flocking like crazy over the feeders.
I’m thinking, Eagles must move and swoop with drastic changes of weather.
I wonder if they would be out and about today . . .
I feel better, just living the walk vicariously with you.
ReplyDeleteahhhh, I need to go hiking.

I'm glad the sun was out at least! That's pretty cold but beautiful on the water! I like those red berries too. I picked up a few pine cones on my hike yesterday! Enjoy your day!

You live in such a beautiful area, Eileen!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely place for a walk and the chance of seeing a bald eagle must be the cherry on the cake.

Beautiful autumn colours, Eileen!
ReplyDeleteYour fire roads must be much like our logging roads, leading us into the backcountry. - Margy

a beautiful time of the year :)
ReplyDeleteLots to see on that hike. Thanks for taking us along!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos Eileen. It looks cold! I love walking in the cold crisp air. It's a good thing since I have to walk Molly three times a day. Beautiful pictures, very colorful ,nice Mosaic. Those berries really pop! That's quite a zoom you have.Enjoy the rest of your week.
ReplyDeleteWater looks a bit choppy!
ReplyDeleteLike how the red berries pops out against the green.
Eileen, you always have the best nature photos. I know you must love being out and about.
ReplyDeleteNice to wonder in your country for a bit.
ReplyDeleteMerle.........
Beautiful photo of the sunlight on the lake - love how it sparkles!
ReplyDeleteDucks far away AND in constant motion as they ride the water does make photography difficult. But it is good to take photos anyway - you have a record of seeing them (when, where, how many).
I am keeping an eye on an Eagle's nest here too, but no sightings yet this Autumn though we have been told that they start adding to and repairing the old nest in October.
Have a wonderful week!
Well shucks, those are a subspecies, obviously, the fuzzy bumbleheads.
ReplyDeleteEileen - although you did not see the eagles, your pictures show plenty of other delights from your hike. And your mosaic puts them all in one place for us to enjoy. I love the shot of the sun glinting on the water - gorgeous! Thanks for linking up to Mosaic Monday!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a beautiful day for a walk.
ReplyDeleteI like the different shades of blue you have captured!
ReplyDeleteLooks peaceful and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou have such a great walking trail around the lake. I wonder why the Eagles did not return to that nest? Maybe they will be back in spring?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful landscape ! Would lake too to do a walk at the lake !
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteWow... what a fantastisc landscape!
ReplyDeleteNow it’s time for reading… MosaicMonday times! Each Monday a great pleasure.

Hello Eileen,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of nature. The first photo is magic!
Happy Tuesday!
Your pics have captured natural beauty so well!
ReplyDeleteso beautiful eileen, it's a great spot to take in the beauty of nature. the skies are still so blue, and the water too...it looks like a very pretty day!!
ReplyDeleteand whats up with those ducks, always in the center of the lake, making it impossible to get a good picture. the buffleheads are so cute, with almost iridescent colors. they are always bobbing when i see them!!
and what david said...so true!!
ReplyDeleteYou always have the most beautiful nature shots to share!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely place for a stroll.
ReplyDeleteNature gives the green in your photos nice touches of red. I often hear the eagles flying and chirping in my neck of the woods but rarely see their secret nests, although some nests are streamed live for constant viewing.
ReplyDeleteSuper place for a walk Eileen and great images! Enjoy the rest of your week :)
ReplyDeleteHello Eileen! An beautiful place for a walk. Lovely photos. The nest of Bald eagle is very big. Have a happy week ahead!
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful! We're under 6" of snow!

ReplyDeleteHello Eileen. Like you I would have liked to see those Buffleheads a little closer. Never mind, at least you had a lovely even if it was a little chilly. Enjoy the rest of your week.
ReplyDeleteWow! So beautiful pictures!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking I'm a bigger wimp than you haha! It's a fantastic season for berries too in the UK at the moment, hope that's not a sign of a harsh winter ahead!
ReplyDeleteWren x
Wow what stunning pictures and love the Eagles nest.
ReplyDeleteHugs Diane
Oh, those beautiful blues.....blue skies, blue water - what a gorgeous day! Love seeing all the red berries, too. Wonderful to have a nesting pair of eagles close by! x Karen
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the berries are brightly colored in the Fall and Winter so that the berries can easily see them. Your photos of berries got me thinking. :-) Good for you getting out there in the chilling temps. It's time for me to stop being a wuss.
ReplyDeleteGreat place to walk. Love seeing the Eagle nest. We have several around here---some get families and some don't.
ReplyDeleteVery nice collages.

Beautiful Autumn walk; its so nice to live close to paths like that. I hope your eagles hatch this year. I just remembered to check on 'our' Florida pair and they have two eggs. We will soon be living down the street from them! (They don't live in quite such a beautiful spot since their tree is close to a busy street. But it doesn't seem to bother them. I guess they like the Florida weather enough to put up with it .... like some other snowbirds I could mention.))))
