Saturday's Critters #279

Welcome to Saturday's Critters !

Happy Easter Everyone!

If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!

Except for local walks on the fire roads and my backyard I have not been anywhere to see critters. So I am sharing some of my back yard birds and some herons from the nearby nest and a new born foal in the neighborhood.

A female Downy Woodpecker.

The Dark-eyed Juncos are still here, they are a winter visitor for my area.

The Chipping Sparrow is a Spring/Summer bird for my area.

A neighborhood farm has a few horses and this momma has a new foal. Very cute!

A Great Blue Heron on a nest, I can see this nest from our kitchen window.

These two herons were having an argument, I can watch them from our house and deck.

When the leaves are back on the trees my views of the herons nest will be gone. The heron flying away lost the argument.

The Easter Bunny came to visit my yard.

I appreciate and thank everyone who links up their post and for all the wonderful comments !

Here is a list of my linky parties;

Also visit:  I'd-Rather-B-Birdin. Thanks to the gracious host: Anni.

Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!

  11. Enjoyed the Downy, junco, Chippie and the little colt. The Cottontail looks so pale as compared to our Marsh Rabbit. This was my first winter in a long time during which I have not seen a junco, as we sold our Illinois condo and they do not range down this far in Florida.

  18. Lucky you to be able to see a heron nest. It gets harder to get bird pics when the leaves are out. They fly up and hide from me. Enjoyed your post, especially the horses and the bunny sure is cute. Happy Easter!

  20. Cool to watch a heron on the nest they really don't look like tree nesters with those long gangling legs do they?
It's cold here today after heavy storms that may be up your way by now...the sun is drifting in and out and no idea what kind of day we will end up with. Enjoy the weekend.

  32. Well Eileen, with all those yard birds you have no need to worry if you are not able to get out. There's enough variation and lots of photo opps to keep most people occupied for hours. I would be more than happy to photograph the Downy Woodpecker, Juncos and Chipping Sparrows. The little foal is just lovely too. Enjoy your Sunday.

  50. Of all the nature lovers in the whole wide world, you are the one who does not need to go anywhere to see amazing birds. Your backyard is amazing. Thank you for sharing! And for hosting. I hadn’t thought about how you won’t be able to see the heron rookery when the trees leaf out! Gosh...there is one downside to the end of winter. I’d be glued to that window as long as I could see the action.
