Happy Monday,
I hope everyone is having a happy long weekend, today is Presidents Day a holiday for most Americans. Also, it is the last day of the GBBC, the Great Backyard Bird Count.
I have been trying to get outside for a walk, even with the cold weather. On this day hubby and I took walk on the NCR bike trail. It seemed like we were not the only people wanting to be outside this day.
Some bike riders passed us on the trail.
White water along the rocky section of the river. Every once in awhile we could hear the Kingfisher's rattle. There were not many others birds around, I think I heard some Titmouse and Chickadees.
Me and my shadow on a bridge over the river.
Gnome land is a private garden at a home that borders the NCR bike trail. In the spring and summer there are flowers in this garden with the gnomes.
"Every child is a different kind of flower and altogether make this world a beautiful garden." unknown
It was a pretty sky day, if only it was just a bit warmer, I did ok and kept warm with a brisk walk.
"Follow your dreams, they know the way."

DeleteLovely walking in sunshine and by the river! Gnomes were a hoot, and I'm glad they've fenced them off, or they would have walked off probably. Have a great new week, Eileen! -Barb
ReplyDeleteHello, I do enjoy the gnomes, each year they add more. Thanks for the comment, have a great day!
DeleteDoesn't matter how cold it gets I can dress up and stay warm. It is oppressive heat, especially accompanied by high humidity that gets to me, and you can't escape it. Friends of mine used to live in Boca Raton, FL and they said that at least in the months June, July and August, and sometimes extended either side of it, they went from an air-condition house, to an air-conditioned car, to an air-conditioned office or mall, and followed that routine very day. And they are birders. For three months they barely experienced the outdoors. There is rarely a day in the winter that keeps me inside.
ReplyDeleteHello David, I wish I could stand the cold weather, my eyes tear up and my face hurts when the weather is so cold. I would like something in between cold and too hot. Thanks for the comment and enjoy your day!
Deletethe three years of childhood I spent on the banks of a creek that looked exactly like these two photos, were the happiest of my life. these photos could be in Clear Creek KY... loved that place. I have never visited a gnome garden..
ReplyDeleteHello, I guess there are similar creeks all over the USA. It is our local bike trail and the Gunpowder River.. Thanks for the visit and comment. Enjoy your day!
DeleteBeautiful
ReplyDeleteThank you, have a happy day!
DeleteNice to see those blue skies! I was out yesterday afternoon in Valley Forge Park and it was Muddy! Warm! Crowded on the trail!
ReplyDeleteOh gorgeous nature trail shots and love the sweet gnomes ~ ^_^

...Eileen, you had a beautiful late winter day to enjoy!
ReplyDeleteHi Eileen!
The Gnome home, love the flag, and a little doorway. Beautiful walks through the trees, and some water, that would be wonderful to hear it over the rocks.
ReplyDeleteHow neat to have super trails close to home. I wondered what was on that hill--Gnomes??? To each his own I say
ReplyDeleteMB

ReplyDeleteHello, Margy I think the kiddies do love the gnome garden. Thank you for the comment. Wishing you a great day!
DeleteIt is too bad it was so cold because the sky really was beautiful and the trail looks great. I don’t do well in the cold any more, probably I wouldn’t go outside at all in winter like you have ... you are stronger than me and I’m glad! The gnome hill is funny. Someone has quite a sense of humor!
ReplyDeleteHello Sallie, thank you for the comment. Wishing you a great day!
DeleteGnome land! How cute is that! Maybe some gnomes live in those rocks I see on some of our trails! heehee! Glad you were able to get out and walk. I walked today....and just about overdid it! But I'll survive(and take the day off tomorrow)! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteHello Diane, I was happy to get outside for some fresh air. Thank you for the comment. Wishing you a great day!

ReplyDeleteHello Colleen, thank you for the comment. Wishing you a great day!
DeleteLooks like you had a great walk. I would probably have caught a chill, standing and looking at the gnomes for too long!
ReplyDeleteHello, thank you for the comment. Wishing you a great day!
DeleteHi Eileen
ReplyDeleteSuch a good hike! I enjoy walking in the cold weather of winter much more than the hot and humid weather of summer as it is so invigorating. I see you don't have any snow there but I heard on the news the east coast may be getting some tomorrow? We were supposed to get snow today but it ever came to our area--just as well as I don't know where i'll put it when I shovel--the piles are already high!
Hello Pat, the days are warming up some. No snow yet. Thank you for the comment. Wishing you a great day!
DeleteEileen - I often find that clear days are the coldest. No clouds to hold in the heat! Lovely pictures, Eileen! Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!
ReplyDeleteHello Angie, you are right, the clouds do help to keep things warmer. Thank you for the comment. Wishing you a great day!

ReplyDeleteMagnificent your photos!
I especially loved the riverside with its strong current waters.
The very blue sky invites good walks, despite the cold that is still felt. But, spring will not be long.
Hugs and a good week.
