Our World, My World

 Happy Monday everyone!

"All is well, that's my new philosophy."

On April 3rd hubby and I walked on the trails at the Hashawha Nature Center. I checked before leaving home that the trails were open, it is a Carroll County Park.  We walked a couple of miles and did not seen any other people, just another couple we noticed as we were leaving.

My FOY Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher, they seemed to be everywhere we walked in the park that day.

Me and my shadow starting the loop trail at Hashawha Nature Center.

It is nice to see the trees starting to bloom and some have the red buds.

I caught a movement near this pond and was surprised to see 2 River Otters running away from us, they were following a creek that goes into the pond.   They were moving too fast for a photo.

Bluebells, Helleborus, and a white unknown wildflower.

We walked the loop trail past the Raptor Mews and Martin Cabin, it is home to a few species like the Bald Eagle, Red-tailed Hawk, Barred Owl, a Great-horned Owl and a Screech Owl.

At the Hashawha lake we saw a pair of Canada Geese, a Robin and lots of Slider Turtles.

Covid 19 update, as I typed this post Maryland residents were still being asked to stay at home. They are expecting this week April 5-11th to be a bad outbreak week, more positive cases to be reported.   Thankfully the Maryland Governor is on top of this, giving out current information and he is honest and reports the facts. We have found most of what we needed at the food store. The price of gas in our area $1.95 a gallon, not bad. Too bad we can't take a road trip now.   I hope everyone stays safe, strong and calm.

What's happening in your corner of the world? Please check out and visit the following memes and links. I hope to see you there.

Hello Eileen,
I love to see the flowers today, and they are wonderful! I think the white unknown flower maybe are a Tiarella.

Have a nice day!

Looks like a great place for a walk. All my local areas are far less leafy!

Hello Eileen,
Beautiful photos and collages of your walk.
It's wonderful to live in nature and hardly see people.
We also walk every day, but we meet many people, here you have to keep 1.5 meters apart, but they prefer you to stay inside.
Best regards Irma

Lots of lovely photos, Eileen. It's lovely to see Spring all around us, even as so much of life is uncertain just now.

Hello Eileen!
How nice that you can move freely in nature!
In the Netherlands the rule "stay at home" also applies! It was such a nice weather the last few weeks ... luckily I have the garden and we sit outside!
Have a good new week ahead!
Stays safe!

I enjoyed the pics from your walk...I would have loved to see the otters. They are supposed to be around here, but I have never had the pleasure of seeing one. LOVE the turtles shots.

It is reassuring that your state's governor is truthful and delivering unbiased facts - more than you can say about your national government, unfortunately.

Hello David,

Yes, I am happy with our governor. He is doing a great job. As far as our national government, we only need to hear the facts and preferably from a doctor. Thanks for the comment! Enjoy your day, have a great new week!

I wonder if the creatures and plants are enjoying the current peaceful times. There is always a bit of irony to life. Fuel prices are rock bottom now that people aren’t traveling and have nowhere to go.

Our gas prices are way down here too but most people are staying at home. We have cut our hikes down to a couple of times a week and I sure miss it. Not many trails open now and I want to stay safe. Love seeing your shadow shots and the signs of Spring! Take care and stay healthy!

it has been five weeks since I put gas in my KIA and I paid 2.49 a gallon. now it is 1.92 and I still have 3/4 of a tank. only drive 6 miles every Tuesday. a beautiful place to walk, Some parts of FL are really cracking down more. Ocala has closed all the parks, Kissimnee starting today, 500 dollar fine or 60 days in jail if you are caught in public with out a face covering. that has blown my mind.

Hope you had a blessed Easter. We used to live in an area with river otters, so cute but they could be very snippy too. LOL Gas here is $1.59 a gal. which is amazing. However, we can't go anywhere.

HI Eileen, hope you are not in line for the storms that hit us at 6 am this morning...WOW it was scary 8 people lost their life :o( A really nice post today with the Gnatcatcher they are such a treat to watch, and thank goodness a natural predator to help keep the balance, really great news that you saw River Otter, I've been seeing them too and Im really happy about that. Gas here is some cheaper, I paid $1.59 yesterday ours is not as heavily taxed as some areas are, and just north of us its even cheaper! The cases continue to grow of the virus in the larger cities, and per-capita my town is really doing horrible! Have a great week in spite of all the tribulations we seem to have going on currently.

We have river otters up at the cabin, but they are rarely seen. One time I washing dishes at the sink and saw two heading my way. They played around under the cabin float for about half an hour before heading east towards the main part of the lake. - Margy

what a nice place to spend a day hiking and watching nature and wildlife. I like ponds like this one. Much to see around them. Wonderful.
Our scientists ware a bit surprised. People living in Stockholm actually stayed at home during Easter holidays. Stockholm is the city most affected by the virus so, good they did not travel. :)

I love your new philosophy. I also love that you have great outdoors place you can escape to and are pretty self sufficient. Enjoy the low gas prices. They should be getting lower. You can get gasoline here in Tulsa for $1.39 a gallon. I'm in the energy biz but it goes up and down and is a high risk business. So I say, let the market work things out.

Enjoy your week!

Good that you got to go for a hike and the trails were open. Everything closed here. I think the white flower you wondered about is a type of Pachysandra or Mountain Spurge.

I am glad to know you two are well . And thank you for sharing that beautiful walk! I am so glad to be home in Oregon where I trust our Governor to, like yours, provide good info and do her best for her fellow citizens. Unlike Florida. Can you still go out to walk? We are practicing social distancing now in our apartment, ordering groceries, etc not seeing our family even though we are close. but we can walk outside and intend to do that as soon as we get dug out from the trip.

I love seeing all the wonderful sights on your walk, thank you Eileen. I think your white flower may be the Allegheny-spurge. There is something here that looks like it.

Adorei as imagens! Essa região proporciona sempre cenários lindos! Beijinhos! Cuidem-se bem!
