Welcome to Saturday's Critters!
If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!
The Hairy Woodpeckers have been visiting my suet feeder often, a few times a day. This is the male below, you can see the red spot on it's head.
Here comes the Red-bellied woodpecker in for a landing on the suet. Make way!!
Mr. Red-bellied Woodpecker says good, now I have the suet all to myself.
Below are the Downy Woodpecker and just a peak at the Pine Warbler on the other side of the suet feeder.
Celebrate Earth Day April 22nd, we can each do some easy things to help the environment.. Here are some suggestions I found on a Earth Day website. Try walking or ride a bike to places rather than drive, plant a tree, recycle as much as you can, switch to ebills if you can, plant an organic veggie garden, stop using pesticides, volunteer your time and my favorite is make an oasis for the birds and critters in your yard.
Thanks to all my visitors and for all the wonderful comments. I appreciate everyone who loves critters and has linked up their critter post.
Here is a list of my linky parties;
Also visit: I'd-Rather-B-Birdin. Thanks to the host Anni.

DeleteAll good suggestions to ease the confinement we have in this lockdown. However, Aside form small businesses and others who want to open again, I think we need to have 14 days with no new cases before the restrictions are eased. Love the birds at the feeders. I have been saving sunflower szeeds for the winter dining down here, outside , maybe Hugh will need to mAke a bird table.
ReplyDeleteHello Jean, it will be nice to have these restrictions eased. A bird table will be a great attraction for your yard birds. Thanks so much for the comment! Enjoy your day, wishing you a great new week ahead.

Wonderful to have the woodpeckers visit and feed from the suet feeder. I am contributing by growing pesticide free edibles in my garden and recycling as much as I can. Have a great weekend.

ReplyDeleteHello Chica,
DeleteThank you so much for the comment! Enjoy your day, wishing you a great weekend.
I liked your woodpecker morning Eileen. Looks like you need more feeders to stop those woodpeckers fighting over the goodies on offer. Thanks for the link-up this morning for all us stay-at-homes.
ReplyDeleteHello Phil,
DeleteI do have more than one, they seem to like that suet feeder. Thank you so much for the comment! Enjoy your day, wishing you a great weekend.
It is interesting to see the hairy and downy woodpeckers in the same post. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteHello Marie,
DeleteI am happy these woodies have become daily visitors. Thank you so much for the comment! Enjoy your day, wishing you a great weekend.
I too love woodpeckers, not so much when they peck at the sides of our wooden house! But that seems to be one woodpecker and just twice. Mind you, he did make a small hole in the wall. Luckily we are fervent bird lovers here!
ReplyDeleteWe have never had a woodpecker peck at our house, I guess there are too many trees around. Thank you so much for the comment! Enjoy your day, wishing you a great weekend.
DeleteI don't know if I've seen a Hairy here! What great photos! We have the little Downy in our feeders and they are favs! I love the idea to make an oasis for the birds in your yard. They are a joy to watch. Have a good day and thanks for the party! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteHello Diane,
DeleteThe Hairy is a larger bird, it takes up the whole side of the feeder and still hangs over some. The Downy woodie is much smaller. All the birds are a joy to watch, I am a bird nerd. Thank you so much for the comment! Enjoy your day, wishing you a great weekend.
Nice shots of these distinctive looking birds, Eileen. Keep well and take care.
ReplyDeleteHello Nick,

We see Downys more often and it's funny how much larger the Hairys look when they do show up. Nice photos!
ReplyDeleteHello Brian,
DeleteThe Hairy is much bigger, it is bigger than the feeder. Thank you so much for the comment! Enjoy your day, wishing you a great weekend.
PS: Thank you for hosting, Eileen.
ReplyDeleteThanks again Nick!
Deletethe downy is my favorite of the woodpeckers. we saw the red headed one this morning after we heard this really loud noise. he was on the metal gutter to a neighbors house doing the rat a tat tat on the metal. wow. I don't think I have seen a downy in real life. loved the landing on the suet photo...
ReplyDeleteHello Sandra,
DeleteWe have never heard the woodies banging on our house, I think we have too many trees around for them to bang on. Thank you so much for the comment! Enjoy your day, wishing you a great weekend.

All the best Jan
Adorei as fotos!!!
Beijinhos!
