Happy Monday!
I have been enjoying my back yard birds and blooms, they are a simple pleasure during these Covid times. Maryland is opening up a little more each week. Now, we have open restaurants with inside dining at a 50% capacity limit. Some places are closing streets in the afternoon and setting up tables outside. Hubby and I prefer the outside dining at this time. We finally saw our son and DIL, we stopped for some carry-out dinner to take to their place and ate outside on their deck.
Some images of our clematis and a Ruby-throated Hummingbird sitting near the feeder.
Love this clematis, lots of blooms this year.
Hubby and I enjoy our walks on the local fire roads, some of nice views of the reservoir. A view of the fire road, our walk for the day.
These are a few of the birds we saw off the fire road, the House Wren top left, Gray Catbird top right. Bottom on left I am guessing it is a Wood PeWee and bottom right is the Red-eyed Vireo.
These pretty ferns grow along the fire road. We heard lots of birds around us, like the Waterthrush, Ovenbird, Titmouse, Chickadees, WB Nuthatch, Pileated Woodpecker, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, Scarlet Tanagers, various Vireos and Flycatchers. One sounded like a Acadian Flycatcher.
We saw a few butterflies flying around during our walk, this Black Swallowtail landed nearby.
A view of the reservoir.
The mountain laurels are blooming, mostly white blooms. Some times they are pink in color.
I hope you enjoyed these images from my little corner of the world, we continue to do well. BTW, I finally found yeast in the store and have made my first loaf of no-knead bread. It was super easy to make, it turned out well and tasted delicious. Next on my list to make is homemade pizza/flatbread dough. I am looking for an easy recipe..
Staying safe and still keeping our distance until we feel safe to be traveling more. I hope you all are doing well too. I hope everyone is safe, happy and healthy. Take care and stay well.

Wow , stunning photos as always!
I hope that everyone continues to display common sense as things open up. Unfortunately common sense doesn't grow in everyone's garden.
Hello Eileen!
Your Clematis bloomed so beautifully! Like the preety colors!
Great captures of the birds and wonderful pictures from your walk!
I know that every Summer you’re waiting for the Hummingbirds to visit you!
Have a happy week! Take care and stay safe!
Dimi...
Maravilhosa iniciar a semana assim com tanta beleza!Adorei! beijos, tudo de bom, linda semana! chica
I do always enjoy your photos. I so love your clematis...it is gorgeous!
...it's always nice to see the clematis in flower!
The view of the reservoir and the hummer collage are my favorites today Eileen!
I bet the dinner with family felt heavenly.
Beautiful nature pictures
Hello Eileen,
The clematis blooms beautifully, the Ruby-throated Hummingbird is also great to see.
Very nice the colage with the different birds.
Here the restaurant is also open again, but with far fewer tables, you have to keep 1.5 meters away.
I wish you a nice new week.
Best regards Irma
Your clematis is stunning Eileen, so many flowers! We are still adhering to the lockdown rules here in UK, we haven't been able to meet up with family since we arrived back from France 3 months ago, my nephews have started Zoom Family Quiz nights on Saturday evenings so we are getting together that way, really hoping though that we will be able to visit them soon.
Stay, well, stay safe.

Eileen! These all look very relaxing! What struck my attention the most were the ferns on that forest photo! They are like magical plants! Very much alive and has a different and soothing glow with them!
Hello Eileen,
Beautiful photos! I love the clematis, and it blooms here too. The
mountains laurels are very prettty.
Have a nice new week!
Your clematis are lovely. Super cute hummingbird photo! We too are still staying close to home.
isn't it funny how things in different parts of the country appear at different times...our clematis are total history, but we have yet to see any swallowtails. How lucky that you have such a lovely walk near you. Loved strolling along this morning.
Love love love the ferns and those purple flowers! Glad you got to go out to eat with somebody and what a great idea to close the streets and use picnic tables. You have given me an idea they have picnic tables on a deck for seafood out by the beach and this might be a good time to try it because we have not eaten out a single time since March 15th
Love the photos and yay for yeast! Things here are business as usual after months of lockdown and then a slow open.

fire road looks calm and peace, must be enjoy to walk under the trees and beautiful views....
thank you for sharing your beautiful photos.
Glad you could get together with your son and DIL. Not being with/seeing family has been the hardest!
I was so excited. I bought myself a tiny geranium to put on the condo porch. It is blooming like crazy, and attracted the first hummingbird I've ever seen here in the city. I tried to buy a hummingbird feeder last week but they didn't have the one I wanted to add to my pickup order. Sometimes they have things in the store but don't include them for the pickups. I'm still trying to stay out of stores and restaurants. - Margy
It's nice to have a meal with family and get to sit outside and enjoy it! I have a recipe for pizza on my blog, if you search for pizza in the search bar. It's so easy...you'll never want to have anything else! Love the Mountain Laurel and the Clematis! Hugs!
Hello, I bookmarked your pizza recipe, thanks for the comment and visit. Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy new week!
Yeast seems to be coming back just as things are opening up. We were lucky as a neighbor had an extra jar (due to a misunderstanding of a delivery order at the beginning of lockdown, just before it was all gone). My husband says the best thing about making bread is the kneading, so we nver have no-knead bread -- I hope you enjoy it and the pizza.
be well... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Restaurants are still only open for take out here in the city. I can hardly wait to meet friends for a good visit at the local pub but it will be a while and we won't be rushing out as soon as they open.
Thank You Tanza! We do enjoy our neighborhood walks. Have a great week!
Thanks Vera! Yes, we did miss getting together with family! Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy new week!
Thanks Margy! I enjoy watching the hummingbirds in my yard, they are such a treat to see! Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy new week!
The swallowatail really stands out.
Thank you Mae! I will be trying other breads with yeast recipes, besides the pizza. Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy new week!
Hello, we are weary of eating inside restaurants. I will try the outdoor places here. Thanks for the comment. Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy new week!
Thanks William! Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy new week!

I don't think my clematis will ever be so lush and beautiful as yours but it gives me something to hope for! Have a lovely week.

Rich and abundant blooming for the clematis.
Have a nice week ahead and thanks for visiting my blog!

Great photos! I think your wood pewee is the Acadian FC with that bold eye ring... you said you heard one, Whit-Whew? Good shot too!! Your Clematis vine is brilliant! Your fire road really brings in some great birds. I don't know If I will ever feel comfortable eating in a restaurant again.
Gorgeous pics and I love that Clematis!
These are sweet pics, E! Do use the outdoors, distancing and etc to stay safe. This is far from over and prudence pays!
Beautiful images!! Enjoyed every one.
We have loads of those ferns growing out back.
So pleased to read that you were able to see your son and DIL.
Beautiful photographs and collages.
Have a happy week
All the best Jan
What a gorgeous clematis!! Thank you for sharing and have a wonderful week!
Your clematis is so beautiful! I've planted clematis vines twice but both have not done well and died. I think our nights may be too cold?
I like the way you say various warblers. Warblers are very hard to see and identify.
So beautiful pics.
Greetings
Another amazing outing from you!! Great job.
Hello! The blooming clematis of yours, mountain laurels, ferns, and the small critters, all are so lovely. I can feel sunlight flickering through leaves. My corner of the world is also opening up little by little. Two schools of my grandchildren started full classes and school lunch. Let’s enjoy our lives with our share of responsibility.
Yoko
A beautiful walk, love the ferns and laurel, and all the sweet birds. Glad to hear you are well and happy. x

Glad things are starting to open up for you. Lovely to see your little birds - of course I'm flapping my wings and excited to see the house wren! Have a lovely week Eileen.
Wren x
Eileen - that clematis is AMAZING. We have had such a weird spring - only one bloom on both of our apple trees! It was interesting to be in Ohio last week and to hear different bird song! Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday with your menagerie!
Your purple clematis is beautiful! My mom and dad used to have some growing on the fence at my childhood home. Always tempted to get some. I think I'd be with you on the outside dining idea although I'm not sure how pleasant that would be in 90 degree temps & humidity. I keep teasing the kids that we should go to the local pizza buffet, now open. Can you imagine? No thanks. Gorgeous trail. Hope you have a wonderful week!
Hello, oh no a buffet would be awful. Everyone touching everything, UGH! Thanks for the comment and visit. Enjoy your day, have a great week ahead!

Hello Eileen, the clematis is very beautiful. You sawe amazing birds on your road. Have a nice evening. Greetings Caroline
It's good to see you are getting out and about Eileen. It seems like lots of people are still afraid to put their nose of the door. And look what they are missing by your photographic example. Beautiful.
What a feast for the eyes, Eileen. Love the collages you put together. The Clematis is so full and beautiful. Hope you have a good week.
I'm so envious of the abundant blooms of this clematis. I've tried my hands on cultivating them, and I can't seem to get it to spread or bloom. I may be missing something.
Wonderful photos. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks Marco! Enjoy your day and the week ahead.

Wonderful post and thank you for sharing with us. How neat that you saw your son. We will be seeing ours this weekend for the first time since sheltering. Have a continued good week and stay safe :)
Nice flowers arent' they those clematis and it must be nice being able to get outside for a nature walk.
Que maravilla Eileen. Disfruta bien ese precioso rincón. Me encanta.
Buen miércoles. Cuídate.
Un abrazo.
that looks like a lovely place for a wlka with a great selection of birds. The clematis is beautiful too
there is so much to see and do, even during theses days!! it is so nice that you got to see your son and dil, i have not seen my sons in so long and i really miss them!! you are seeing hummingbirds?? i have not seen any yet!!
perhaps that is one of my black swallowtails that decided to visit you. making bread is so rewarding, you have reminded me/inspired me to make some more. there is nothing quite as good as warm, crusty bread!!!
What lovely shots.
Ana
Hello Eileen,
beautiful pictures and that ruby hummingbird is really great! It is nice to read that you could finally see your son again and have a meal outside. Here in the Netherlands there are also some relaxations, but only 30 guests are allowed in a restaurant. We will wait a while. Let's see how this all works.
Your flowers in the garden are also of great beauty 😀
Greetings, Helma
Lovely captures of clematis. I love this flower.
Worth a Thousand Words
Beautiful photos Eileen. I really love the trails through the woods. So tranquil. We seem to be on more or less the same schedule as your are with regards to lifting of CV 19 restrictions but I continue to isolate. I went out on Thursday evening to buy some groceries and there was a lot of life on the street. The first time I've seen that since the pandemic was announced. There were people walking, driving, sitting on patios, and some lined up for the liquor store which always has a line up at the weekend. I found the super market very busy also but thankfully I did not have to line up. I'm glad you and your husband are able to go or walks near your home and see so much green space and nature.
