Happy Thankful Thursday

 Hello everyone,

Sending prayers to Michelle and her family.  May Michelle's mom rest in peace, my sincere condolences.  Michelle is the host of Thankful Thursday.

These are crazy times lately, between the Covid 19 virus, weird cult conspiracy theories and the up coming election.  The following two things I need to remind myself  of daily.  The whole future lies in uncertainty: live immediately. Stop worrying about things you can't change.  One thing I can do is VOTE and always check the FACTS.

Wouldn't it be nice if anything related to politics, politicians and the election was just banned from the news and social media sites for 1-2 months before the election.

When we focus on the beautiful things around us, life becomes calmer.

Sky-watching and watching the butterflies are a few of  my simple pleasures.  Simple pleasures I am thankful for.....

Sending the warmest wishes your way,
let them lighten up your day.
Just like the morning sun rays!

An Irish Blessing:

May the wings of a butterfly kiss the sun.
And find your shoulder to light on.
To bring you luck, happiness and riches.
Today, tomorrow and beyond.

Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures.

"True generosity toward the future consists of giving everything to the present." Albert Camus

Be like the butterfly, embrace change.
Float above it all,
Sip life's sweetness.
Become something beautiful,
on occasion fly into the wild.

Anne Frank: I don't think of all the misery, but of the beauty that still remains.     I am thankful for the beauty around me.

These photos above are new, I feel like they must  look like others I have already shared on a previous post. The butterflies continue to enjoy our Buddleia bush. I have been enjoying my yard birds lately, I have a lot of Blue Jays, Cardinals, WB Nuthatches and Downy Woodpeckers. I have been hearing the calls of the Pileated Woodpecker and the Yellow-billed Cuckoo almost every day.

For the Throwback Thursday theme, photos are from my younger years. My first day of school and my First Communion. My mother made the Communion dress, she made a lot of dresses for me and my sister.

My ears look so big, lol..

Be Kind! Kindness changes the world, one heart at a time!! 😊

Take care and stay safe!

Live simple and be happy!  😊 Keep smiling!

I liked the dresses, but not that she made the same dress for my sister. Even though we were over a year apart, we were always dressed like twins. Take care, enjoy your day!

  10. I like your throw back photos- it's fun to look back at our childhood. I always looked like a whirlwind got a hold of my hair. My mother sewed matching outfits for my sister and I. We were 18 months apart and definitely not twins...but she thought it was cute and if we wanted clothes to wear we just smiled and carried on. I look back at high school pictures and durn if we didn't wear matching store bought clothes too!
So sorry to hear about Michelle's mom. This virus is so scary.

  13. About the comment about the ears I just said to Bob a few days ago that the ears are the only thing that don't stop growing and I look like ET with man sticking out the side with my short hair. The butterflies are absolutely stunning. I do wish that all the things I talked about on TV with just stopped for the next two months the thing is they've been talking about it for 4 years now and will continue to talk forget about it for 4 years after this one the only answer is turn it off if only I could get Bob to do that

  43. Aw, you look so cute in those vintage photos. Your sky and butterfly shots are exquisite. Are you using a different camera or lens because the photos seem extra clear. They are always clear but these ones seem more so. Or maybe my eyesight has improved, lol. Have a wonderful weekend Eileen. Condolences to Michelle on her loss.

  48. Hi Eileen,
I read that there was a loss at Michelle and you can never miss a loved one :-(

it are also bad and weird times with the covid 19. There is still no vaccine, but nobody really knows how to deal with this. I think everyone is doing their best to get the virus under control but it is still uncertain.
In between, indeed try to enjoy the beautiful scenery around us.
The pictures of the skies and butterflies are beautiful :-)
Stay healthy and safe too Eileen.

Beijinhos!
