Welcome to Saturday's Critters!

Hello and happy Saturday!


Happy New Year 2022! Wishing you and your family a very happy and healthy New Year! 

 If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!

These are photos from a recent getaway to Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge and Assateague Island State Park on Dec 12-14.


1.  Blackwater NWR in Cambridge Maryland





2. The native Tundra Swans at Blackwater NWR also known as the Whistling Swan. The have a white body, long slender neck and a black bill. 




3.  Northern Shoveler has a green head, white breast with rusty sides and a spatula shaped bill. 





4.  Snow Geese in Flight, you can see their black primaries visible in flight





5. In front are the bottoms up Northern Pintail Ducks, Great Blue Heron and Canada Geese.





6.  Great Blue Heron





7.  Blackwater NWR, Bald Eagle on nest. 






8. Assateague State Park beach and wild ponies. 





9. The wild ponies of Assateague Island NWR, Maryland.




10. We enjoyed spending time with our grandson Wyatt, DIL and our son for Christmas.

In Japan, we (house wives, haha) normally have busy time tp prepare for New Year dishes or other things. Wishing you and & all of your family good healthy year 2022.

  2. Hi Eileen, Thanks for sharing your photos from your recent getaway to Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge and Assateague Island State Park. Nice work putting together the collage in image #1. The wild ponies are so interesting and I like that shot of the eagle on the nest. The Great Blue Heron looks stately. :-) I think you saved the best for last with that sweet picture of Wyatt.   25. Your grandson is so cute! With the exception of our recent trip to Benezette, I haven’t been out much ISO wildlife or birds. We have trips planned in Feb to Myrtle Beach SC area and in April back to Chincoteague Island. I am looking forward to both trips and the opportunity for bird photography. Best wishes for a happy new year.

  28. Happy New Year Eileen, I enjoyed seeing all your critters, Ive been watching the FL eagle cam as the 2 eggs hatched and the little ones inside so I assume most eagle nest have young inside by now...Glad you got to spend time with your grandson.

Thank you for all the wonderful wild life pictures of last year, and I enjoyed this varied post, with the Bald Eagle in it's huge nest, the ponies, and he bottoms up photo which made me smile, the in flight captures of the snow geese, and finally young Wyatt's smiling face.
