Welcome to Saturday's Critters!
Hello and happy Saturday!
If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!
For my critter post, I have a few backyard birds and our grand-dogs Nibbles and Winnie the Corgi.
1. This male Cardinal looks like it has a deformed beak. I hope it will survive and still find food to eat. Poor thing doesn't look happy.
2. Not sure if you can find the two Dark-eyed Juncos, they are finding some food on the ground in our yard.
3. A grumpy looking male Cardinal was seen sitting in our butterfly bush.
4. Winnie the Corgi on the top and Nibbles is on the bottom protecting her toys.
5. Winnie and Nibbles enjoyed our walk to the lake.
6. The fire road is mostly in the shade and the last snow has not melted. Nibbles and Winnie did not seem to mind walking on the snow covered pine needles.
7. The only bird I saw at our local lake was a Belted Kingfisher flying away.
8. This Dark-eyed Junco was seen in my yard but I have been seeing groups of them flying away from the edge of the roads when I am driving.
Celebrating, our beautiful grandson Mason. Another precious angel for our family to cherish and love.
Thank you for sharing your critters and post!

ReplyDeleteThank you Phil!
DeleteIt was nice to see and hear the Kingfisher, they spook easily.

It's always a wonder to me how birds survive with deformities , but they do for a while. Grosbeaks seem to have many beak deformities.

Good morning Eileen and congratulations on the birth of Mason your newest grandchild! Seeing your grandpups that are out and about on your hikes I can tell they are having a wonderful time. Your birds are enjoying nature, and I even tried taking some shots of mine, as I've put out more feed for the birds and the bunnies as our temperatures and heavy snowfalls have made finding food not so easy. Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you Karen!
DeleteThe dogs do enjoy their walks. I hope the wildlife survives this cold snowy winter.
Take care, enjoy your weekend!

Welcome Mason!! It's fun to take the dogs on walks, I used to walk my dogs every single day then they got older and they just enjoy playing in the yard or strolling around the field with me, Annie can still run a little bit I tell her she is the only one of us that can still run. Other than the beak deformity the Cardinal looks to be in pretty good health but Im sure it's hard to overcome. We got snow last night it melted pretty fast only hanging in the deep shade. Enjoy the last of January.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sondra! I am not a runner, I just like to walk. The dogs do love going out for a walk too.
DeleteI am happy to see the end of January!
Have a great day and a happy new week!!

Oh exciting news Eileen -- when you said in an earlier post that Wyatt was going to be a big brother I thought you meant in a few months! What a fine family. .... I miss seeing juncos which we do have in Oregon but not here at least I've never seen or heard of them. I hope everybody is staying warm.
ReplyDeleteThank Sallie! Our family is blessed, Wyatt and Mason are both adorable, so sweet.
