Welcome to Saturday's Critters!
Hello and happy Saturday!
If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!
Our local walks continue, some photos are from our back yard and some from our fire road walks.
1. Aug 18th, the grand-dogs are still with us. We are waiting for our son to have a fence built on his new property. The fence may happen next week, we may see an end to our dog-sitting soon. So for now we continue our walks with the dogs on the fire road and to the lake.
2. Aug 18th , at the local lake a couple of the slider turtles perched on a tree limb sticking out of the lake.
3. Aug 18th, back at home from my kitchen window I noticed this small deer standing on the driveway.
4. Aug 19th, summer is flying by and I have been enjoying all the butterflies at our Buddleia Bush. Below are the Monarch, Eastern Tiger Swallowtail and the Black Swallowtail.
5. Aug 20th, hubby and I took our walk on the local NCR bike trail at Bentley Springs. along the trail we heard and saw a few birds, some pretty wildflowers, shadows on the Bee Tree Run.
6. Aug 24th, another walk just with hubby on a different section of the NCR trail in Parkton. We saw a doe with triplets, I could only capture one of the fawns. The Cardinal flowers were in bloom and some other wildflowers. We saw a group of White-breasted Nuthatches in the trees along side the trail.
7. Aug 24th, on the way home from our walk on the NCR trail we stopped at the local food store and rode by the Friendly Farm ponds on the way home. We saw one Great Egret in one pond the other pond there were lots of Canada Geese.
Thank you for sharing your critters and post!

Dearest Eileen,
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy the virtual walks with you (and with your granddogs :-)) through your wonderful nature. The color of the water in the first photo alone is a dream. And I love the butterflies fluttering around in your Buddleia Bush - I am (and the insects in our garden are) also very, very happy about this beautiful nectar plant. In my current post you can see some of the butterflies, bees and other insects and snails that are sharing our paradise with us :-).
Happy weekend!

Thank you Traude! The butterfly bush attracts many insects, I love the butterflies.
DeleteTake care, have a great weekend.
I have a friend who has been raising and then releasing Monarch butterflies. She shares pictures on Facebook of her releases.
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda, for the visit and comment. It is nice of your friend to raise and release the Monarchs.
DeleteTake care, have a great weekend.
Such a lovely post. I bet you will miss the pups when they return home. That is a wonderful capture of the sliders on the stick. They must prevent themselves from sliding backwards somehow. That doe must have been quite busy with those three little ones, just keeping them rounded up wouldn’t be easy! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks Marie! The turtles must find a way to hold on, it was not a big stick. Have a happy weekend.
DeleteThanks for hosting! You have a great variety of critters. I feel the season changing, and I know some of our will go visit you! Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jenn! We are seeing some sings of fall already, maybe because we have been dry for awhile. Migration is a little slow near me. I hope to see more warblers coming through. Have a great weekend.
DeleteGood to see the dogs out for a walk...and nice to see a White Br Nuthatch...I had none this year at my feeders...I know you will miss the dogs when they go home...Imhappy to resume blog reading it puts normal back in my life.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sondra! I am happy to see you visiting. Take care, have a great weekend!
Deletebeautiful monarch...

Thank you for the comment! Have a great weekend.
DeleteHave a wonderful weekend too
DeleteThe dogs must enjoy their walks with you.
ReplyDeleteThank you William! Yes, the dogs love their walks. Have a great weekend!
DeleteThis must be an exciting time of the year for you Eileen. Seeing the different swallowtails would make me very happy I'm sure. I suspect that you are almost not looking forward to the new fence completion? You will surely miss those lovely walks with the dogs for company. Happy weekend and thanks for the link again.
ReplyDeleteThank you Phil! Hubby and I will enjoy more walks further away, places we couldn't take the dogs. Have a great weekend.
DeleteGreat photos!
ReplyDeleteLove the butterflies!
Have a blessed day!

DeleteLovely capture of the natural beauty that surrounds you and beautiful trails for exploring nature and creatures! ReplyDeleteThanks Jeanie! Take care, enjoy your weekend!
DeleteGreat trail to walk on Aug.20.
ReplyDeleteThanks Red! That is our local bike trail. It is always a nice walk there. Have a great weekend.
Deleteit has been several years since I last walked on a path like the one in the photo. I miss it but not enough to drive there alone and walk alone. we have beautiful places to walk if we battle the traffic to get there. none of my friends are able to walk, including hubby.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandra! If I had a beach nearby I would be there more often. Have a great weekend.
DeleteGreat shots as always, A deer with triplets?! Haven't seen too many of those. I loved the deer in your driveway and all the other critters. Love all your butterflies as well. The grand dogs are going to miss their walks when the fence is built.
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting!!
Thanks Alan! We were surprised to see the triplets too. Have a great weekend!
DeleteHi Eileen, A very good Saturday morning to you. I got a kick out of your second image … the couple of slider turtles perched on the tree limb. I guess I’m just surprised that turtles would want to climb up like that. I love it that you have deer you can see right from your kitchen window. Re the Monarch … I have read that they are endangered. It just amazes me that such a small creature can fly from Maryland all the way to Mexico for the winter. I enjoyed your three last images … collages. Another fine Saturday’s Critters! Thank you for sharing and hosting and thank you for your kind comment on my blog this morning! Happy Labor Day weekend to you and yours! John
ReplyDeleteThank you John! I appreciate your link and comment. The Monarchs do have long journey south, they are amazing!
DeleteTake care, have a happy weekend.
I love seeing your trails and the pretty deer you see. I'm seeing so many butterflies this summer, I should try to remember the names! Lovely photos today!
ReplyDeleteThank you Diane! I appreciate your link and comment. Take care, have a happy weekend.
DeleteHello Eileen, :=) The flowers and butterflies are simply gorgeous. My Buddleia bush died this year due to the extreme heat.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to see a deer on your own driveway. :=) All your collarges of the beauty you see around you are lovely, with birds in trees and water, turtles, and especially your water scenes and reflections.
Many thanks for hosting Eileen.
All the best.
