HAPPY VALENTINE"S DAY!!!!
It is not often I am able to catch the Redbellied Woodpecker's really red belly. I believe some people did not know why they were called Redbellied Woodpecker. My photo above shows why..you can see this woodies Red Belly.
I like this shot of the woodie, he looks like his bill is coming out of my screen.
Now for my Skywatch Friday. These photos were taken last week. Our weather has been up and down lately and the sky is either super clear or really cloudy. But on this day I managed to capture some of the more colorful clouds during the sunset.
Some sky shots like the one above I took from my deck.
I like to walk down to the end of my driveway to get a better view of the sky. The trees are really growing and are taking over my view. At least I can see thru them while they are bare.
I hope you enjoyed my Redbellied Woodie and my pretty skies. Happy Skywatching to all and I wish everyone a safe and happy weekend. Thanks for stopping by and for leaving your nice comments.

ReplyDeleteHi Eileen, The sky photos are lovely, very colourful but of course my favourite part of this post is the lovely Red-bellied Woodpecker, so pretty!
ReplyDeleteAs usual I always enjoy looking at posts I have missed since my last visit and was particularly fascinated by the huge Rhinoceros Beetle you showed which actually reminded me of a mini Elephant ;-) I was so intrigued that I looked it up and was amazed to find that proportionally it is the strongest animal on the planet, capable of lifting 850 times its own weight!!! I also read they are sometimes kept as pets which seems sad to me. The very exotic looking birds in that post were lovely too.
I also enjoyed the post with the quotes about Nature. I too like the simple pleasures.
Your 'undesirables' post was fun (I know you love them all really) :-) I call the Starlings bully boys when they visit my garden, sadly though they are nowhere near as common here as they once were.
A very nice new blog look too!
