Some more of my yard birds, some winter birds still here as of 4/16/18 and first of the season Eastern Phoebe have arrived.

I am still seeing a lot of White-throated Sparrows around the yard, they have a pretty song.

Below are two photos of the Eastern Phoebe.

I've been seeing two bunnies in the yard, maybe some baby bunnies will arrive soon.

  3. I don't know whether the sparrows in your post is the same as the ones visiting my garden. They do look similar and we have lots of them here. Thank you for hosting and have a great and happy weekend!

  4. Glad to see your birds and a bunnie. They have cut down a lot of forest around my area so wildlife has vanished too :( Not fun!

  9. Haven't seen any phoebes here for the past few weeks but hope to catch up with them and the sparrows when I get to Illinois this weekend.

  10. It looks like the winter that seemed to go on forever this year is finally relinquishing it’s grip so I will be looking for Eastern Phoebe any day now. Nice reminder for me. White-throated Sparrows are already arriving but a few overwinter here so it’s hard to know which ones are genuine migrants.

  14. I found your post quite charming Eileen . . .
Especially when you mentioned “sound” . . .
We have had two days of blue sky, bright sun . . .
    Springtime perfection . . . cool yet perfect . . .
And being outdoors with the “bird songs” is the best ever . . .

  27. We have eastern phoebes nesting in our shed. They don't seem to be afraid. They often pose on our fence and let me take pictures as long as I don't move too much. I would love to have a White-throated sparrow pic to add to my sparrow collection. I like that little splash of yellow. We have a bunny family living in a brush pile not far from the house. They come up to the yard in the night to eat food that fell out of the feeders. Gus likes to chases them away. I don't think he could ever catch one, but it is fun watching him speed after them. Have a wonderful Saturday.

  34. Hi Eileen. I remember that White-throated Sparrows were the most numerous migrant I saw in Canada in late April. I guess that you're getting those migrants now.

  46. I didn't expect to see that splash of yellow on any sparrow, quite fetching. I haven't seen the cranes, just heard them, I'm sure they're finding food in the neighborhood but am worried a bit out the robins although everything is just about melted and hopefully the ground is softening.

  47. I love to sit and watch the small birds in our garden they are so quick as they dart around.

  48. what always blows me away when I come here is you identifying the different sparrows because to me they have always looked the same :)

Well I have my PARENT sparrows busy building a new nest under an awning on the side of the house and then their babies will be the NOISY sparrows later on :)

And this goes for the earth, which can not be commented.
We have an obligation to take care of it, it is the inheritance that we receive and that we will leave to our children.

  65. Hello Eileen, your quotes are perfect and each critter scene after the other such a wonderful view, and gives me hope that I'll be seeing some of that around here too, soon. It's getting better, although still some snow remains and the ice isn't out of our lakes yet.

  66. Dearest Eileen; First of all, so sorry for my belated comment.
We can see many sparrows especially in the rice paddy, but not so handsome like White-throated one p;-) TI thought your Eastern Phoebe look a bit like our Pale Thrush. I always admire rich nature in your area ï½–(^_^)ï½–
Thank you SO much for hosting wonderful link and always appreciate your sweet comments♪
