I am linking up with Skywatch Friday
These are a few shots from my backyard and from one of my prettier sunsets last week.
These photos have a lot in common..... the color blue. From the Bluejay on my deck to the blue and pink sky and a Great Blue Heron flying over my yard on its way to the nest.
I keep trying to get a better shot of my heron in flight but by the time I see it flying over my house it disappears into the trees.
Earlier in the day I saw these cool patterns of these white puffy clouds. I enjoy sitting on my deck and watching clouds roll by.
One of my simple pleasures is to see the sky and clouds turn this pretty pink color.
I hope you enjoyed my skies and post. To see more beautiful skies from around the world visit Skywatch Friday.
Thanks to the host of Skywatch: Sylvia and Sandy. Thanks, also for stopping by and for the lovely comments. I hope everyone has a safe and happy weekend.

Such pretty cloud formations. And I love the Blue Jay. There. I said it. Hubby has such a war going on with them , chasing them from the feeders. I quite enjoy their antics. I'm tempted to put up a separate feeding station just for them. Oh, who am I kidding?--they'd still hog all the feed at the other feeders.
ReplyDeleteWhat a magnificent bird, the Blue Jay, Eileen. We have Jays but they are quite different.

ReplyDeleteLovely Blue Jay shot Eileen and i know they are a little villainous but he looks like butter wouldn't melt.
ReplyDeleteI see the sky as sea.
ReplyDeleteThere are waves, white waves.
I saw a jay on the fence the other day but he got away before I could get the camera out! Love that cloud formation...it is always so interesting to see the different layers! Beautiful shots!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots of great variety. I love that blue jay.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering what music to listen to as I got my posts and comments organised tonight - yours was the first blog I came to - so “Blue” by Joni Mitchell it is!
ReplyDeleteCheers - Stewart M
PS: really like the cloud shot.
Purdy sky photos! Awesome Jay!
ReplyDeleteLove the blue jay - they are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteLove the cloud formations in the blue and white shot, looks like rolls of cotton.
ReplyDeleteA lovely collection of blues indeed! One of my simple pleasures as well.
ReplyDeleteReally like the blue jay and the puffy clouds, and the heron is good too (they are so difficult to catch in flight).
ReplyDeletelove those puffy cloud lines. :) your bluejay shot is really nice, too!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous sky...gorgeous sunset. Have a great weekend, too!
ReplyDeleteA Facebook friend of mine just posted a photo she took of a bluejay in her backyard this morning and I would swear it's the same one that you took the photo of (LOL).
ReplyDeletePretty skies and pretty birds. The Blue Jays always make me smile. When I put those peanuts out there is generally one up in a tree who will put out a call, and before I know it I have a whole family descending.
ReplyDeleteHi Eileen, Love the pictures. I especially like that 3rd one with the interesting cloud formations.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy
Great skies!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.

ReplyDeleteLove the theme:) Blue is one of my favorite things to capture in pictures. I think seeing a Heron fly over my garden everday would be pretty nice:)
