I am linking up with Mary's last Mosaic Monday and Our World Tuesday
Edited: I did not know at the time of creating this post that we would be saying Goodbye to Mosaic Monday.. I wish Mary the host of Mosaic Monday all the best with her photography and future projects.. I will miss Mosaic Monday!!
This is our walk from last weekend, an easy walking trail in a local park..We picked this spot because it was close to the gas station where I fill up my car for the week's ride to work.. As hubby and I did our two loops around the trail, I was looking for birds, butterflies and blooms..
In my mosaic above, I have the Eastern Bluebird, American Goldfinch, Northern Mockingbird and an Eastern Towhee.
The Eastern Towhee seems to be a common bird, seen often in forest during our walks..
A monarch, a swallowtail and I believe the middle is a Cabbage White and the yellow is a Sulfur.
The Monarach butterfly.. I have happy to see them during my walks the last two weeks..
Above is some milkweed and Queen Anne's Lace.

And here are some shots from the trail, it was a beautiful day with a pretty sky.. It was neat seeing some swallows and maybe some purple martins flying low over the fields..They are so quick, it was too hard trying to get a shot of the swallows..
I hope you enjoyed our weekend walk with the birds, butterflies and blooms..Thanks for stopping by and for the comments.

gorgeous butterfly shots. i love the Queen Anne's Lace. not sure i have ever seen milkweed. or realized what it was. thanks!! was talking to my neighbor about not seeing monarch butterflies any more she explained it was due to the less milkweed plant being around these part. that is so so sad. i wonder what is going on? give me some milkweed & i will start planting. i miss those guys. ( :
you have the greatest walks each weekend. thanks, for taking us along.
Such a lovely walk Eileen!
We have a towhee that likes to get on our bathroom window and peck at it ---- early in the morning. Grrrr! I close the blinds thinking it was pecking at it's reflection - but it continues to knock until my husband goes outside and shoooos it off!! I did put a flower pot on the ledge and that seems to help for now.
the towhee is so handsome! i'd love to see one.
I've only seen Towhees a couple of times in the past few years. Never photographed one. You've got a great place to walk!
Hi Eileen,
Beautiful collages of the monarch butterfly and birds.
Certainly The Eastern Towhee, which is wonderful.
Nice bird and butterfly shots!
Hello Eileen!!

Dimi...
Beautiful birds, all in one place. Amazing variety.
Lovely shots of the butterflies. Love the monarch. Haven't seen any around here though we do have a lot of milkweed plants.
Like those pathways and would love walking down them!!
What a walk! :) Gorgeous..every single thing!
I enjoyed the sights along the trail with you Eileen. The butterflies in particular brought me joy as there just are next to none here this summer which is disappointing.
Wow so beautiful birds and butterflies, beautiful pictures of great scenery.
Good Sunday from Marit.
gorgeous shots
The butterflies are such a challenge to photograph! We were surprised to see so many wildflowers blooming on our trip. It's a beautiful summer this year! Hugs!
You capture nature beautifully and it's always a joy to stop by and enjoy it!
Eileen, what freshness I sense in the bright August air, today, in all of your beautiful photos! From the pretty flowers to the colourful butterflies and the greenest grass, I so enjoyed my visit. Thank you for sharing!
Have a wonderful week!

So many delights to make your walk far more interesting. You have captured each one well too. Lovely to see the Monarch (or Wonderer as we call them here in Australia) butterfly too!
Loved these pics Eileen . . .
Such gorgeous colors, photos of the birds you find!
Like the Monarchs . . . see a bunch of milkweed which they love . . .
These are very nice. I like the butterfly !
such fun walks you two get to go and lovely photos for us to see. I love the American Goldfinch (it's yellow!)
As always, lovely photos--For the first time in who knows how long, I saw an Eastern Towhee in our yard. Monarchs would be great to see too--I'm glad you're seeing them, I had no idea until this year that they are in such dire straights and their numbers have dwindled.
Hi Eileen, I sure like this collection of photo's. I miss seeing the Eastern Towhee's here - have not seen any in many months. Guess they are around elsewhere in this development but unknown to me yet. Have a wonderful Monday tomorrow!
Perfectly fitting for Mary's last get together, Eileen!...:)JP
What splendid pictures. I have seen the Towhee and it truly is beautiful. I adore butterflies, also. Have a wonderful Sunday evening, Eileen.
I did enjoy "our" week end walk. Thank you so much. We have lots of barn Swallows around here and I saw one in the middle of the road surrounded by a small flock of more swallows. I drove right over him but backed up and saw that he was a fledgling and not ready to fly away. I picked him up and placed him in the adjoining pasture. We drove back a bit later and he was encouraged to fly away. YAY!
Love your collages. MB
Your photos are truly beautiful.
Birds, butterflies and blooms ...
what could be better?
Hugs,
Patti
That was a lovely walk, Eileen. As I looked at the photos I wondered if there is any bird prettier than the little Goldfinch.
Looking at your sidebar and at the picture of you as a little girl - I will have to dig out the photo of me in the identical dress!
Wow, beautiful scenery on your walk and gorgeous butterflies.
Beautiful pictures and glad to see that you spotted a Monarch too.
Looks like you were walking in a paradise! Love all the shots of nature's gifts.
The towhee is gorgeous!
You were at the gas station, I was at the Petrol station..., you were skipping through the clover admiring the birds and butterflies I was scraping the ice of the windscreen and admiring the snow on the mountain tops from inside a heated car :)
Sooo lovely to enjoy a touch of summer with you!

I really enjoyed coming along on your walk with you, Eileen! So many pretty birds, butterflies and flowers! It's a treat to see the Monarch - we don't have them here. Hope you have a great week! xo Karen
Nice pictures - I have liked seeing the mosaics - even if I have never joined in with the meme.
My "happy place" was a little bit of sarcasm!
Cheers - Stewart M - Melbourne

Lovely mosaics, Eileen! The Queen Anne's lace seems to be super beautiful this year.
I particularly like your last mosaic of rolling fields and wildflowers. So pretty.
This has been a year of few butterflies here and I don't recall ever seeing a true Monarch butterfly here on the prairies.
Wow, these are really beautiful images, especially the Queen Anne's lace. Love those flowers.
Again, a very interesting post about birds I have never seen or seen such a long time ago!
And common or not, they are all gorgeous!
Keep well Eileen!
Your butterfly and bird shots really show some of the wonders of nature in the summertime. It looks like a great area to take a good, long walk!

Such terrific photos of the Monarch butterfly.
The Monarchs are beautiful, as well as the Eastern Towhee. I've seen an occasional juvenile Towhee here, but never the adult. Perhaps one day.
Truly another stunning array of different photos. Beautiful nature, birds, butterflies and flowers. I find this really beautiful to see! And what do you have that beautiful butterfly photographed!
Fizeram um belo passeio, com imagens muito bonitas!
