For this week's critter post I am sharing some various yard birds and some critters that were all seen in my yard during the month of September.
Above is the juvie male Scarlet Tanager seen with the dark wings.
The Gray Catbirds were seen all summer long.
The Tennessee Warbler hung around for a couple of weeks. It was enjoying the berries.
I believe this is the Eastern Wood Pewee perched on our Weeping Cherry tree.
The female Ruby-throated Hummingbird hung out in the weeping cherry tree, close to the hummingbird feeder.
A chipmunk likes to sit on top of our wood pile.
This American Bullfrog was enjoying his favorite rock next to our little pond.
A young deer maybe a female showed up in the yard on Sept 21, the bow hunting season in the woods near our house started on Sept 11th. I hope this deer stayed safe.
The Swainson's Thrush was another new yard bird for me.
A new yard bird for me, it is the Summer Tanager. It is neat comparing the Summer Tanager to my first photo above of the juvenile male Scarlet Tanager. I hope you enjoyed my yardbirds and critters. As always I appreciate my blogging friends joining in on my Saturday Critter party. Thanks for linking up and I also appreciate the nice comments. Have a Happy Weekend

Hello Eileen!:) Beautiful shots of this delightful and colourful assortment of birds and other visiters to your garden. The Summer Tanager was so nicely camouflaged amongst the leaves, it's a wonder you saw it. I love the little chipmonk capture,... such a sweet picture.

Hi Eileen, your garden certainly attracts the birds and other critters. I love them all, but the Summer Tanager is my favorite. Hunting is also a popular "sport" here in South Africa, unfortunately. I hope that female deer stayed safe. Enjoy your weekend. Jo
wonderful bunch of birds that i'll never see! awesome chippy and frog, too!
We have been so excited to see a juvenile vermillion flycatcher on our property this week! I wish I had been able to take a photo of him. As always, your critter photos are lovely. I love frogs too!
Hi Eileen, Congrats on another fine Saturday's Critters post. Neat photos as always! Wishing you a fine weekend!
These are great photos!
Different sorts, birds, animals, reptiles etc. Thanks Eileen.
You have so many cute little critters this week. And one big critter!
You see more birds and critters in your own yard than I see in many nature parks! Wonderful . I admire your ID skill and knowledge so much as well! Would never have known the tanager Juvenile.
Sad how we are concerned about the birds getting enough to eat by putting out feeders and must worry if a cute little deer can manage to stay alive.
People in northern Ontario rely on hunting moose and deer for meat whereas I've always bought mine (beef and pork) at a grocery store.
Thanks for hosting Eileen.
Love all your little critters. The Tanagers are very special.
Great shots,
MB
all so so enjoyable thank you
You always have such a great collection of critter pictures and I always enjoy seeing them all.
You really give me yard envy! That Scarlet Tanager is striking, and there is a nice comparison with the Summer Tanager, of which I have only seen one this fall. Beautiful images!
So lovely all of them and I did not know about the gray catbird... The young deer is amazing, but more stunning is to have a visit like this one!! What a joy to stay in the middle of nature! I'm dreaming to have such a chance of staying in a a house with a courtyard. Till then I capture moments in my sister yard or when I go in travels far away from the noise of the city...
Autumn greetings and a sunny weekend!
I also had the Swainson's Thrush visit my yard last month. Unfortunately, two of them struck our huge glass windows and didn't make it. I also had a couple of yellow warblers but I couldn't get a very good photo. The tanagers in your yard are really cool.
i have not seen any chipmunks this season, i use to get so many!!! the birds are beautiful, some i see, many i don't. my hummingbirds are gone for the season, i didn't get many....your capture here is beautiful!!!
have a happy weekend!!!
The birds are so lovely and your images are a joy to watch as always!

Beautiful shots! That grey catbird is just gorgeous.
Hi, I enjoy the bird photos you share. We have a pair of cardinals and a pair of blue jays who compete with each other. My granddaughter asked if they got together would their babies be purple:)

Hello dear Eileen, I am very impressed by the diversity of the critters in your yard! Your photos are very beautiful as well! Have a nice week-end!
you have an abundance of visitors. Wonderful
We had an almost black beauty visit us the other day I didn't recognize, looked a little like your gray catbird. Very different visitor for us. I need to pull out the bird book
Wonderful series of 'critters' of all kinds ~ Excellent photography and hard to pick a favorite ~ all delightful!
Happy Weekend to you,
artmusedog and carol
What a beautiful assortment of birds you have there! I love the colouring of the Summer Tanager, a bird I've not heard of before. I had a pair of catbirds in my yard one summer only ... such a delicate bird that was actually quite friendly. I fed him apples through the summer when I saw the male and a robin fighting over one. I hope that deer survived the hunting season too.
Wendy
Wow, your yard is filled with beautiful critters, and your captures of them are just beautiful! Enjoy your weekend Eileen, I hope it's marvelous and critter filled!
The Summer Tanager is so beautiful. Love all the shades of brown.
On the top of my 'I Hate' list is hunting. Deb
Oops I linked up twice as I didn't see my first link up. Having a senior moment ;-)
You do take wonderful animal photos.
Merle........
It looks as though you captured the frog just before it was about to leap.
Nice collection of critters! (Yes, I'm finally back from vacation!)
Thank-you for hosting this fun meme, lovin` all your pictures, especially the new bird for you & me, & also the sweet frog. They are all special ! Thank-you for sharing, Phyllis
Gorgeous birds and critters! LOVE that grey catbird!
A wonderful series of critter shots!
Hi Eileen, Yes, it is a Pewee. I happily spotted the second deer I have seen in Florida this afternoon. It was a long way across a swampy lake around the area. We have a new nature preserve and this area apparently attracts deer as well as Sherman Squirrels and wading birds/water birds, and 'gators. Have a tremendously good Sunday tomorrow!
I have probably said it before. You have a wonderful yard :)
Thanks for hosting SC :)
It's always exciting to spot a new visitor, isn't it?
Have a wonderful day, Eileen
Really great eye for detail and the photos are wonderful.
they are all adorable, and for some reason the solid gray bird is my favorite even though not as colorful as the others. we had the biggest egret i have seen walk right up to our living room window yesterday. he was eating lizards like popcorn
Another wonderful selection of critters, Eileen, shown off by your beautiful photography!
Thanks for hosting!
