Happy Thankful Thursday!

 Hello & Happy Thankful Thursday!

 Wishing everyone a 💕 Happy Valentine's Day 💕 !

I hope everyone has reasons to be grateful and thankful, I am always thankful for the little things. One of the little things is to hear the Cardinal singing outside my window.  He is a happy bird to be singing so often and so loudly. Slow down and enjoy the simple pleasures in life.

The male and some what hidden female Cardinal.  These two are daily visitors to my feeders.

"My wish is to stay always like this, living quietly in a corner of nature."   Claude Monet

Sunrise seen from my kitchen window.

A raptor seen in the woods across from our driveway, it was a big hawk. I am guessing a Red-Shouldered Hawk?

It was a cloudy day, as you can see the sky behind the  hawk.  I think I am getting used to cloudy skies lately.

I am thankful for our local libraries and to be able to download library ebooks from the app called OverDrive.

My most recent books I have read are:
The Whisper Man by Alex North
A Share in Death ( 1st in the Duncan Kincaid series) by Deborah Crombie
The Mummy Case (3rd in the Amelia Peabody series) by Elizabeth Peters.
I am now starting The Grave Talent (1st in Kate Martinelli series) by Laurie R. King.

If you truly love nature, you will find beauty everywhere..I am thankful for the beauty of nature!
I am thankful for my hubby, he is my 💕 Valentine.

I am always thankful for your visit and comments.
Live simple and be happy!  😊

Thank you Michelle for hosting Thankful Thursday

What a prett raptor - not familiar with Red-shouldered Hawk, but images elsewhere suggest your ID to be correct. And is a Cardinal to be beaten for giving 'eye candy'??? YAM xx

  4. We were just talking yesterday about cardinals starting to sing as we looked at a very handsome male in the backyard. They usually strike up their chorus around the end of February or early March so we don't have long to wait now. This year is marching on!

  11. What a gorgeous hawk! And it's nice to be thankful for even the small things in life. I love seeing what you are reading on goodreads. The Mummy is SO good! I read a bunch of that series in a row until I was about burned out but it is GOOD! Enjoy your day!

  13. Great bird photos. Hawk is not interested in your seeing him apparently. I've enjoyed Laurie R King's series of Sherlock's wife (kind of spoof of all mysteries but well done). Will have to check out this other series of hers.

    1. Thanks Debbie! I think my female cardinals are a little more shy than the males. I can usually tell when a hawk is around, the birds disappear. Thanks for the visit and comment. Enjoy your day, wishing you a great weekend.

  18. I am impressed you know what kind of hawk that is, I still don't know my hawks from my falcons (I feel we may have talked about his before). There are so many raptors of some kind on top of the street lights on highways, do you see that too?
Lovely sunrise. I'm still grateful the Polar Vortex didn't come back and the Brewers have reported for spring training. I feel spring in the air even though my weather app said 8˚ this morning.
